CHAPTER TWO

Orion was exhausted and worried as he tapped his feet impatiently waiting for his younger sister’s carriage to arrive for an hour now. His mind thought the worst; did they know she would be in town today? Is she safe? Is she with Rodrick? The guards standing on either side of him shared a look as they watched their prince glowing a deadly aura. He was livid towards those who harm her.

He sighed as he saw the gates open and the carriage round the fountain stopping at his feet, he quickly ran down the stairs with his guards following in toe, he was prepared to give Alpha a lecture of sneaking out of the castle and for going without guards, but when he saw her partially naked if it wasn’t for the black coat and underwear. He only saw that look when their parents died three years ago and when she felt sorry for not been able to use magic.

Their eyes met and Alpha did not waste a second as she hugged her brother, he hugged her comforting her as he frowned at the butler who looked angry as well “what happened?” Orion asked her as she hugged him tighter “I-I…. I don’t what to talk about it” Alpha cried soaking her brother’s shirt “shhhh…you’ll tell me later and I promise whom ever did this will suffer” Orion promised but Alpha shook her head.

As she laid on the window watching the guards training with their magic, Alpha felt left out and weak ‘why?’ she thought envying the power that everyone had but she didn’t. She was tired of feeling weak and crying herself to sleep, she was tired of waiting for her powers to come and doing nothing! She is tired of living in the constant shadow of the family name! ‘No more!’

Her other siblings already make fun of her, the servants gossip about the un-blessed lady, and the barely cast a glance as she walked by. She will no longer wait for things to happen, she will make them happen. No more been weak, no more self-pity, no more envying others, and no more crying. That’s the promise that she made that day.

“Your highness, the King and prince of south have arrived” the Prince’s supervisor stated bowing his head towards the throne where Orion sat, he sighed as work kept on piling up and preventing him from seeing his sister “alright, send them in, and tell my sister that she is to be present for dinner” he said walking down the stairs.

King Quince tilted his head up as he wanted to look at the Lion’s den, it is bigger than his palace and brightly coloured that he wondered if he was doing the right choice. The Lions have ruled the East kingdom since history itself, they have reminded undefeated and untamed. Rumour had it that the prince is as wild and ruthless as a Lion itself, and that his sister, lady Alpha is odd and powerful. With shaky steps the old man walked towards the large double doors just as they opened.
