4 CHAPTER FOUR

“Thank you brother, I will be careful. I promise” Alpha said hugging her brother who nevertheless hugged her as well “good, you need a break and I trust that they will keep you safe. But just to be careful; Rodrick, Eden, Aden, Sofia and Josephine will be going with you” he said making the girl pull away with anger “I can take care of myself, I am a lion after all. Do you not trust me?!” Alpha argued making the servants around to evacuate her chambers.

Orion sighed rubbing his temple “I do trust you, it’s them that I don’t trust. For all I know, they could have trouble handling you- “”no! You don’t trust me, am I that of a problem that they would have ‘trouble handling me’?! Not everyone is going to take or destroy everything you have! I am not weak!” Alpha stated angering her brother “you don’t understand, Alpha. If anything happens to you, it will affect this kingdom and us. I am simply trying to protect you! And you say that you are not weak, but you don’t even have magic!”

Orion sighed as he realized what he had said, the room fell silent that it scared the prince. Alpha froze staring at her brother blankly, she felt so many things but one she felt more was broken “Al-Alpha, I didn’t- “” well, if that’s what you think, I best be going now. I will see you in a week” she said and walked away without another word spoken between them.

“Lady Alpha, are you alright? You seem pale” Sofia asked noticing the lady frowning out the carriage window. Sofia had worked for the royal family for six years and has once never let them down, so seeing her ladyship in such a state did not settle well with her “It is none of your concern Sofia” Alpha said coldly dismissing the lady from her curiosity “If you say so your ladyship” Sofia whispered and turned to look at the view.

“Lady Alpha, your brother does mean well- “” I don’t care what he means, it’s what he said! Would you please drop the subject now! As it is none of your business! Remember your place Rodrick!” By the time she was done, the carriage fell silent with a cold chilling atmosphere. Guilty and pride fought for dormancy within her, and pride won.

It was not their place, they are beneath her, she may be half a royal and a bastard at that but she still was above them. Nothing more and nothing less.

Rodrick sighed at the state of the lady, he knew that she was distressed and angry. She has been through so much in that castle that his entire life could not much up to how much bad luck seemed to lurk around her. So, he prayed for the lady that the gods can bless her as well and if not may someone find favor in her.

Alpha leaned her head against the window as the carriage took a turn onto the road leading out the kingdom, she was excited as this is going to be the first time stepping outside the kingdom but also scared of what awaited her in the south.

Little did she know that was waiting for her in the south was scared of her, Lady Alpha of the East.
