3 Chapter 3

“King Quince, it is a pleasure to meet you. To what may I owe the pleasure of meeting the Dragon of the south?” Prince Orion asked as he shook hands with the man that seemed to stare at him longer than needed, King Quince blinked and cleared his throat as it suddenly felt dry “Likewise, Prince Orion. I have come to discuss matters concerning the North’s rebellion against us” He said and Orion tensed for a second “we shall discuss this over diner, I will have my guards escort your chambers, and I believe you have had a long journey here”

Prince Aston blankly stared at the decorations covering the walls in the large castle, no one seemed to pay attention to him anyway, and even Prince Orion did not get a glimpse of him when snack into the palace “Lady Alpha, what are you doing? Shouldn’t you be with Mai getting ready for the diner?” Rodrick asked as the princess stood on her hands and her feet dangling straight above her, Aston walked towards the door and peeped through the gap.

His breathe hitched as he looked at the most beautiful girl he has ever seen; beautiful green long hair tied in a bun and enchanting green eyes that put the west kingdom’s forest to shame. She looked a year younger than him. So, this is the odd and powerful Prince’s sister, Lady Alpha.

He watched as she flipped herself to stand on both feet making the old man yelp “Relax, Rodrick. I was only training” Her voice sound small and innocent that she intrigued him more “Milady, the dinner is in an hour and you haven’t even bathed yet. If you don’t mind me asking…why go through all this trouble?” Rodrick asked as he has noticed that the lady has been practicing and training for a month since that day when she was stripped of her dress.

She sighed out of frustration and tiredness that it came out as a groan. They didn’t understand, because they had power at their command while she had nothing, she was unblessed by the gods. “You and everyone else have these talents and gifts, I have nothing! I am done sitting around and letting things happen!” she yelled making the Prince gasp. With no magic?

“It is rude to eavesdrop, your highness. Shouldn’t you be in your chambers?” Prince Orion asks calmly at the fifteen-year-old peeping into his sister’s chamber, the prince jumped with a start and turned to come face to face with orange eyes “Prince-prince Orion, I – I was just passing through” Aston stuttered smile sheepishly, Orion raised a brow unconvinced by the young prince “whatever you heard, you keep quiet and bury it. Understood?” Orion asked with a cold voice starring at the boy who looked taken back by the change in the air “yes, you have my word”.

The four royals sat down in silence as the awaited their meals to be served “Alpha, this is King Quince and his third son, Prince Aston of the south. Your highnesses, this is the last child of the Lions, Lady Alpha of the East” Orion introduced looking at his sister who smiled warmly at the two males “it’s a pleasure to meet you, I’ve heard the South is warm and clear as the sunset” Alpha said eyeing the King and Prince.

“Likewise, maybe you might come and visit someday, Milady. Am sure Aston will show you the tour of the entire kingdom” Quince said making both children smile “I would love that, if my brother would allow me to depart with you” Alpha said sighing at the end as she looked at her brother who gave her a challenging glare that immediately burned every hope in her soul “you would like it, a ride on the horses, a straw in the sandy deserts, and a dip in the sun-kissed lagoon” Aston said.

Alpha did not expect what came out of her brother’s mouth as the air felt suffocating and hot “she will go with you for three days and more or else I am declaring war on the south”
