2 Chapter 2: Awakening [Re-Write]

Chapter 2: Awakening

He had been waiting for a long time.

He had lost count of how many years had passed since he was reborn as Sukuna's finger. He had seen many things happen in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, using the eyes of the curses who had eaten his finger. He had witnessed the rise and fall of many sorcerers, clans, and organizations. He had learned the history, the rules, and the secrets of the Jujutsu society. He had also seen the changes in the world, the advances in technology, the conflicts, and the crises.

While in the meantime, he had been testing his abilities and what he could do. He had been waiting for the right moment. He had been waiting for the right host. He had been waiting for the right opportunity. He had been waiting for his chance to shine.

And finally, it came.

He felt a surge of pain, then a burst of light.

He felt his finger being bitten off by a human.

He felt his consciousness being transferred to a new body.

He felt his power being unleashed.

He felt his awakening.

He opened his eyes and saw a curse trying to eat him. He laughed scornfully. "This is what I see after I awaken? A weak curse, pathetic." He used his strength to kill it, overkill.

"Welcome, Host," a voice echoed in his mind, its tone cold and calculating. "You have gained the body of a human named Mato."

Confusion flickered across Kaito's features. It was his first encounter with such a phenomenon within the domain. He had assumed that such systems were absent in this world, but now he realized he was mistaken.

"I see I've got a system now," Kaito mused, a gleam of excitement in his eyes. "How broken am I going to be now, hahaha!"

His attention then turned to the young girl nearby, her form battered and broken. Recalling the events of his awakening, he repeated the question he had posed in his previous life.

"Ah, perfect," he chuckled darkly, recognizing the opportunity before him."I am Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses," he declared, his voice dripping with malice. "Bow before me, you lowly maggots, and witness the dawn of a new era.

I've been waiting to say this, Sukuna thought.

"As the girl obeyed his command, Kaito's mind raced with possibilities. He probed her for information, seeking to understand the passage of time since his imprisonment and brith into this world as finger. But to his frustration, the girl could offer no answers, her mind clouded with confusion.

"I will kill you and your loved ones if you don't answer me," Sukuna's voice dripped with venom, each word laced with a promise of unspeakable cruelty and malice. Enko's blood ran cold at the threat, her mind racing with terror as she struggled to comprehend the depth of Sukuna's depravity.

But despite the fear that threatened to overwhelm her, Enko found herself unable to speak, her voice caught in her throat as she trembled in Sukuna's presence. His crimson eyes bore into her with an intensity that made her feel exposed, vulnerable to the darkness that lurked within him.

"What's the day and date?" Sukuna's voice cut through the silence like a blade, his impatience palpable as he awaited her response. But try as she might, Enko could only offer a blank stare, her mind a whirlwind of confusion and fear.

Its.

Blank, blank, and blank.

As Sukuna's frustration mounted, Enko could sense the danger looming ever closer, like a storm on the horizon threatening to engulf her whole. She racked her brain for answers, desperate to appease the wrath of the King of Curses, but the words eluded her, slipping through her grasp like grains of sand.

Sukuna's brow furrowed in annoyance, his patience wearing thin as he contemplated his next move. *Gojo would be around 14 years old,* he thought to himself, a sinister smile playing across his lips. *He has yet to awaken. That's good for me. Maybe I should go and kill him before he awakens. It will make my work much easier. Hahahaha. What's the fun in killing a child now?*

As the chilling realization dawned on Enko, she knew that her fate was sealed. Trapped in the clutches of a being more powerful and malevolent than she could ever imagine, she could only pray for deliverance from the nightmare that had become her reality.

As the young girl, Enko, trembled in terror at the sight of Sukuna's maniacal laughter and disjointed speech, she found herself trapped in a nightmare from which there was no escape. The mere sound of his voice sent shivers down her spine, filling her with a primal dread that threatened to consume her whole.

But despite her fear, Enko couldn't tear her gaze away from the demonic figure before her, his crimson eyes glinting with malicious intent. With each passing moment, she felt her resolve crumbling, her mind clouded by a suffocating sense of hopelessness.

"S-say, kid," Sukuna's voice echoed through the darkness, cutting through the silence like a knife. "I'll give you a reward for answering me. I will heal you."

Enko's eyes widened in disbelief as Sukuna extended a hand towards her, his gesture both enticing and terrifying. She watched in stunned silence as a wave of cursed energy washed over her, seeping into her wounds and knitting her broken flesh back together.

The sensation was unlike anything she had ever experienced, a strange mixture of pain and relief that left her reeling. She glanced down at her body in wonder, marveling at the sight of her injuries disappearing before her eyes.

But even as gratitude swelled within her, Enko couldn't shake the nagging feeling of unease that gnawed at her insides. There was something inherently wrong about Sukuna's offer, something that sent alarm bells ringing in the depths of her mind.

As she struggled to make sense of the chaos unfolding around her, Enko couldn't help but wonder what sinister motives lay hidden behind Sukuna's facade of benevolence. Little did she know, the true horror had only just begun to reveal itself, and she was merely a pawn in Sukuna's twisted game of deception and death.

With a twisted smirk stretching across his lips, Kaito observed the girl's feeble attempt to rise from the blood-stained ground, her movements sluggish and labored. "How quaint," he mused, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he feigned benevolence. "Go on, little brat, scurry away if you can. Today, I am feeling unusually magnanimous."

As the girl struggled to muster the strength to flee, Kaito's amusement turned to sadistic delight, his eyes alight with wicked anticipation. With a casual flick of his wrist, he unleashed the full extent of his cursed power, invoking his dreaded technique known as "Dismantle."

The air crackled with malevolent energy as invisible tendrils of darkness snaked forth from Kaito's outstretched hand, cutting the girl's trembling form like a viper poised to strike. She let out a strangled cry of terror as the cursed energy coiled around her, constricting her with a merciless grip.

And then, in an instant, the world erupted into chaos.

With a sickening squelch, the girl's body was rent asunder, her flesh torn apart by the relentless force of Kaito's curse. Blood sprayed in all directions, painting the ground in macabre shades of crimson as her screams were drowned out by the cacophony of destruction.

But Kaito felt no remorse, no twinge of guilt for the agony he had inflicted. On the contrary, he reveled in the spectacle before him, relishing every moment of her suffering with depraved glee.

As her lifeless halves crumpled to the ground, Kaito's laughter echoed through the place, a chilling symphony of madness that reverberated in the empty void. "Oh, how delightful," he cackled, his voice tinged with madness as he savored the taste of absolute power. "To think, there was a time when such pleasures were beyond my reach. But now... now, the world is mine to command. Hahaha!"

As the deed was done, Kaito's attention returned to the system that had manifested before him. With a sense of determination, he posed his next question.

[System]

"Who sent me to this world?" he demanded, his voice laced with a hint of defiance.

The system's response was cryptic, offering no concrete answers to Kaito's inquiries. But despite its evasiveness, Kaito found reassurance in its words.

"I don't want to be a pawn in someone else's game," he muttered, his gaze hardening with resolve.

The system assured him that he was free to chart his own path, a prospect that filled

Kaito with a renewed sense of purpose."Good to know," he replied, a smirk playing across his lips. "I'll meet them one day, and when I do, they'll regret ever crossing me."With that declaration, Kaito turned his attention to the world that lay before him, a world ripe for conquest and domination. And as he gazed upon it with eyes ablaze with ambition, he knew that his journey had only just begun.
