2 how could this be happening

The banging just kept getting louder. Bang! Bangg! Banggg! It suddenly stopped. "Sweety"? A frail male voice shouted. "Daddy"!? The woman was so surprised. Her father had survived. Before Rai could stop the woman she opened the door. In a flash of grey a creature was tearing her apart. Rai covered the little girls eyes and closed the door. Mommy! The little girl started crying. That woman had a real chance of surviving but threw it away. Her poor baby was helpless in his mother's arms. The creatures can mimick the voice of their victims. "Nya sweety come out, mommy wants to play". The creature sounds exactly like the woman. "Mommy your okay"! The little girl runs to the door. Rai stops Nya before she can open it. "Nya that's not your mommy your mommy went somewhere". Nya just stares at Rai and smiles, "oh when will she be back"? Rai has no choice but to lie. "She will be back in a few days". His cheeks hurt from forcing a smile.

It seems qiuet outside so Rai sticks his head out the door. All clear. Rai grabs Nya's hand and leads her out the door. They quickly run outside. It's brighter outside than it was before. No one is around so Rai tells Nya to stay beside him. They see a gas station down the road. Ray and Nya headed there. It looks so clean compared to everything else. Rai holds Nya close as they walk in. Nya has a pink Dora back pack so Rai takes that and fills it with food and water. as Rai and Nya are grabbing food Rai spots someone outside. It's a tall man with torn overalls and a big hat. Rai is about to greet him in when he notices the man has a gun. Luckily Rai thinks quickly and throws a can outside the store. The man gets spooked and fired off the weapon. The man spots Rai and points the gun at him. when Rai is about to put his hands up the man falls over. A creature grabs the man's body and disappears into the tree's. Rai and Nya decide to stay in the gas station overnight. Rai puts down a old blanket on a table. He lifts Nya on to it and tells her to go to sleep they will have a long day tomorrow. Rai isn't tired he has slept long enough, he doesn't even know how long he was in a comma for. He decides to keep watch but first he checks the storage room and good thing he did sitting on the ground near the door is a really old shot gun. He has no idea how to you use it but he will just wing it. Rai also spots some bullets on a broken shelf next to a hole in the wall. He reaches down to grab them a clawed hand grabs his. He struggles to get free but finally manages to break the creature's grip but not before it scratches him. Blood is rushing from the wound he uses a towel to stop it. He will be okay, won't he? It's not enough to turn him, is it?
