1 Wait...system!!??

"Yup… that cake, please pack that." Told a boy in his late teens to a girl in an apron.

"Sure, would you like to write anything on it?" Questioned the girl, the boy thought for a second and replied.

"Hmmm…Happy 18th birthday Tyler."

The girl took the cake out and told.

"Wait a second I will write on it." Then she started writing on the cake with chocolate. After writhing on the cake, she packed it and took it to the counter to bill it.

"Can you tell me your phone number." As the girl asked the boy, for that he told her his number.

"Sir your name too." Continued the girl.

"Tyler." The boy replied.

The girl was startled for a second and smiled. After filling in the details for the bill, she gave the printed bill to the boy and told.

"That would be 50 bucks."

The boy took his wallet out and gave the cash to the girl. After receiving the cash, she then took the packed cake and gave it to him smiling.

"Happy birthday Mr Tyler." Wished the girl.

"Thank you." The boy smiled back and turned to the door to exit the store. The boy opened the door and walked out.

The road is crowded with people waking even though its winter. Even though there is snow, people least care about it.

'sign' smoke came out of the boy's breath.

"It's a cold night." The boy loosened his scarf around his neck and covered his mouth. Along with his cake, he entered the crowd. After walking for 15 minutes he entered an apartment.

He went inside his home and kept his cake on the sofa. His apartment his not that big, he is sharing the house with his classmates.

He is an orphan but luck was on his side because he had a good life up until this point due to the government, and he is pretty sure if it was any other country his life would have been messed up. The government sure did cover his expenses for him. He doesn't have any family or any relatives, he grew up in an orphanage.

He did have friends well…they are his roommates but they are not close as he considers them as his family. His roommates are not in town, for the holidays they went to their respective hometown, so during the new year they can spend time with their family.

He will soon finish his high school this summer, which is around six months from now (winter), and should join a good university. Well…he and his friends did start hunting for university.

Tyler doesn't consider himself lonely, he is always positive. Today he is happy because he will turn 18 today, but the sad thing is that there is no one here. But he did get presents from his friends before they left.

Tyler spends most of his time in novels, anime, manga, shows, and whatnot. This is 2021 and this is where guys of his age are into that stuff.

After watching a few shows on Netflix, Tyler saw the clock it's going to be 12 soon. After eating his dinner, he continued watching shows and a few minutes later he got few messages.

It was his friends wishing him for his birthday. That's when he noticed that time has already past 12. He took out his cake and played the birthday song in the background and he started cutting the cake.

'Do you think I am pitiful, no laughs on you! I am quite happy.'

He took a slice and went to his balcony and started eating while watching the night sky well…the stars are not visible due to pollution but still, he can catch a few here and there.

After finishing the slice, he went back to take another slice that's when things went out of hand. Just when he was going to take the slice suddenly, he got a painful headache, it was like someone was deep-frying his brain.

Tyler crouched when holding his head and he was pretty sure it was abnormal to the core. He then started to search his phone to call for an emergency. God knows how long Tyler took to find his phone in that pain well the pain was increasing as the time was passing. Just when he was going to call, the headache increased multiple folds.

It was so painful that he can't even cry in agony. We can't hear any sound escape from his mouth.

Tyler was trying his best to hold on to his consciousness. After an hour or so the headache slowly reduced. Just when Tyler was about to put his guard down, he heard a female voice in his head.

The voice was

[Initialization complete…]

Hearing this voice Tyler was utterly shocked, first, he guessed that this voice came from the tv. But after seeing the tv which was turned off he was sure that he was hallucinating due to pain. He turned his exhausted body over and started facing the ceiling.

Tyler was not sure what just happened to him. He couldn't even think. When he starts to think his head starts to hurt. He is just holding onto his consciousness.

Suddenly he hears the same voice again in his head.

[Successfully awakened…]

After a short pause, it continued.

[Congratulation!!!

The host has successfully awakened the soul and has become a '********']

Tyler's head was full of question marks, he can't get a thing what the voice is saying in his head and he doesn't have any thinking ability due to exhaustion.

[System is now online]

"Wait…system!!??"

After that Tyler fainted due to exhaustion.

Little did Tyler know that on his 18th birthday, his life turned upside down in a matter of hours.

Like this, his adventure began. In this adventure, no one knows what is in store for Tyler and sure he will get a lot of surprises along the path which he chooses to go down.
