7 Chapter 6- New Student

There was silence after that, then Tanaka turned to look at Shousuke.

"Hey, here is the lyrics, try to sing it"

Tanaka then made Shousuke sit in front of the computer while he sat on the bed, Shousuke was speechless, but he knew refusing is not an option nor either he can escape from his current predicament, Tanaka is like their mother, his words are absolute commands, other than their parents, Tanaka has total control over his siblings.

"Sing properly okay, you know what will happen if you don't"

Tanaka threatened Shousuke with a scary voice.

Shousuke nodded and took a deep breath before looking at the lyrics in front of him. Shousuke isn't like Shouko who has trouble communicating with others, he just preferred not to speak and waste his energy talking nonsense with other people.

Just as they were about to ‌play, the door slightly opened and Shouko's head peeked out looking at the two curiously.

'Time to eat'

This all happened so fast that Shousuke wasn't even able to react, he was now feeling embarrassed but he knew escaping right now is too late, Tanaka is one thing, but with their mother is absolute, so he only took a deep breath and looked at the phone in front of him where the song lyrics have been somehow transferred.

Tanaka strummed the guitar and this time with better fashion, when he was singing earlier, he wasn't able to focus on playing the guitar as he also had to mind his singing and also remember the chords.

Shousuke's voice is much better than Tanaka, although he wasn't that good at singing; it was still pleasing in the ears; the lyrics were very catchy, and the tone was also soft and attractive.

The lyrics of the song is almost the same throughout its 4 minutes except that on every loop, the way the song was sung was different, first is wishing, the next is asking, next is begging, Tanaka didn't know a lot of music but at least he knew how to express the song.

As Tanaka strummed the last chords, the song ended, and everyone were in shock, not because of how good Shousuke was in singing but the lyrics, the listeners who listened to the lyrics may thought that the song was a religious song but it was actually a song about a guy wishing for his partner to god.

"Wow, the lyrics are amazing, did you really write this Tanaka? How come I didn't know you have a talent for making songs?"

His Mother asked Tanaka.

"Heh, your son is just very talented mom"

Tanaka bragged as he rubbed his nose with a smile.

"Shush, I have watched you from young to this age, I haven't even seen you show any interest in music, but now you write a song like this"

"It's one of my hidden talents, don't ask anymore, go eat now, the dinner is going to become cold"

"Ah! Let's go eat now"

His mother suddenly remembered and rushed the family to go and eat immediately, as Tanaka already ate earlier, he didn't join them and went back to his room, even though he had already sung the song, it was still not complete.

He may need to ask the help of the music club once again after this.

So after having some more time to do things, Tanaka went to bed and fell asleep.

Those were the only introduction for herself before she was directed to a free seat just beside Tanaka.

Tanaka greeted her with a smile and a nod before turning back to his notebook. Yes, she is beautiful but not enough to make him drool as he also has a beautiful little sister.

Masuzu looked at him curiously before putting her attention to class.

It didn't take long for the class to start, Shirogane who was the president of the class was tasked to tour her around the school later, in which he obliged, but Shirogane gave a glance to Tanaka, Hachiman and Ishigami wanting to ask for someone to tag along.

They were looking away from him.

It didn't take long for the class to end and Shirogane who was tasked to tour Masuzu around tagged with Tanaka who was leaving for the Music Club, Tanaka helplessly agreed since he didn't want to look rude in front of the new student.

Though before the tour, Tanaka first told them that they will go to the Music Club, Tanaka and the others were now on their way to the Music Club,Tanaka carrying the guitar of his little brother on his back, behind him.

"Eh? You know how to play the guitar , Tanaka?"

His friends seemed to be surprised as they saw the guitar, Tanaka was speechless, he didn't bother explaining it to them and they arrived at the music club.

Just like always, the members of the Music Club are gathered together spending their break time in their club room, and since they were already familiar with Tanaka, when he entered, they greeted him curious as to why he came.

"I made a new song, I need your help guys"

Tanaka didn't bother with formalities and directly said.

"Eh? You have?"

They were surprised, knowing how hard it was to make music, even though the angry birds theme that Tanaka gave didn't seem to be difficult, just its arrangements were difficult for most music writers, even them, the members of the music club haven't created their own music yet.

Just as they were about to ask what Tanaka was going to say, they noticed a beautiful girl entering the room, their eyes immediately shone. After all, it was the first time they saw her and she looked like a princess.

So they immediately ignored Tanaka and rushed to the new girl.

Tanaka sighed helplessly as he saw this, so he could only wait until their attention returns to him, it took a few minutes but they finally returned to Tanaka.

Tanaka gave his phone which has the recording of him singing it yesterday, they then connected the phone to the speaker and listened to the song.

Unlike the first time where Tanaka sung it blindly, this recorded one was the best record he did and he have also gotten used to it so it sounded better than when he sung it yesterday, he was also able to adjust the chords to fit it on the tune of the song.

Everyone listened attentively and was amazed by how good Tanaka actually sung, especially his 3 friends who were much more shocked as they never heard Tanaka sing before, Masuzu was also surprised to know that her classmate knew how to write songs.

It didn't take long for the song to end.

"Whoa! This is amazing Tanaka-san! It's even more amazing than the angry birds theme!"

"Well, it's a game theme after all, so it can't be considered a proper music"

"The lyrics is very good, I like the wording for the songs"

"Did you play the guitar Tanaka-san? It's amazing, please teach me!"

The girls immediately flocked around Tanaka and talked excitedly, Tanaka answered their questions one by one to satisfy their curiosity, Tanaka also told them the music instruments that were going to be used and how they are going to be played.

Tanaka may not know much about music but as a game developer, music/theme is one of the most important parts of creating a game, it was like the soul of the game, even if its irritating or pleasant to the ears, most of the time, the most remembered about games is their theme.

So in Tanaka's past life, one of the basic knowledge about gaming is learning all of the music equipment, though, there is another way which was to hire a professional musician or something, but Tanaka came from a small company so all of the theme he made are self made and they didn't sound quite that good.

And so after some more discussion, they have agreed to do rehearsals first for a few days until everyone gets the hang of it, and also maybe increase their chemistry in playing a song together.

After that, Tanaka and the gang left the Music Club and decided to tour the new students around the school. It was quite funny to look at them as 4 guys escorting a beautiful girl. They were mistaken as bodyguards as they walked around the campus.

Afternoon, after the class ended, Tanaka made his way back to the Music club to start their rehearsals, but this time, his friends didn't come with him, but the new student wanted to come with him, Tanaka didn't mind and let her come with him.

There is really nothing wrong with that, she may be interested in music which is why she followed him, anyway, the rehearsals are what follows, learning the beat, getting the rhythm, rehearsing with the singer to get in sync, play until there is nothing wrong, then record.

This lasted a few days of rehearsing until finally, everyone was able to play well, after that, they decided to record everything tomorrow.

Tanaka didn't go home immediately as the second round of the contest winners will finally be announced today, this was the most nerve racking as only the top 10 will be able to enter the finals, only 10 of 100 games.

Tanaka of course didn't ignore this as he always looked for some news in the site, for now, the most praised game is an RPG called Adventure Conquest, its playstyle is that similar to ragnarok, except that its core is in the plot and not an open world like ragnarok.

Finally, the top 10 was announced and Tanaka sighed in relief as he found his game in the top 8, a pretty low rank but it was quite good that he was able to enter the finals, and he also saw the ratings of the evaluators and they rated the game high.
