6 The Understanding of Mana and the 9 Realms

Notice from the Author: Other than the first paragraph, this chapter is nonessential for all of those who just want an interesting story. If that is you, feel free to skip to the next chapter. On the other hand, if you want a background in Mana and Magic, and how this stuff is supposed to work, READ ON!

Upon arriving home, Gail and I both passed out from exhaustion. She slept for 3 days, having suffered extreme Mana exhaustion, while I only had to sleep for the night. Class was boring and lonely without her, although, it was the first day of learning in itself. Unlike any other high school, on the other hand, we didn't waste time on subjects like Mathematics and History, instead we learned about magic, and how to use it.

In short summary, magic has been called by many names, but is most commonly called Mana. The dwarves, the creators of the Akashi Bracelets, believe that mana is the energy exerted by the knowledge of everything in the 9 Realms, bestowed upon Odin after three days of torture. This knowledge is called the Akashic Records, or The Book of Life. It has a counterpart as well, the Mana of the Soul, known as Nekros, the mana of the Book of Death. The Necromancion.

The ability to control Mana is very rare, only one in a million humans have such an ability, though it is uncommon for the ability to not appear in elves. The ability, in truth, is an abnormality in the brain, that allows one to sense and manipulate the energy inside themselves, as well as draw in the energy from around them in a single breath.

By concentrating on Mana itself, within the body, various spells and skills can be made in an instant. These skills are called Aqquired Skills, and they can be taught to anyone. Monsters are created from a mix of Mana and violent thoughts, wishes, and dreams. This is why, as soon as Mana began to leak from the realms, powerful monsters began to form- for millenia, Earth has been plagued by evil thoughts and hopes.

The difference between Candidates and Magic-Users, is this: Candidates wield Deific Mana, Nekros, and Akashi, while Magic Users only wield Akashi. The Soul weapons were forged using Nekros, and are the ultimate weapons for the user.

There are several classes of both Candidates and Magic-Users, each of which will be explained below:

Adventurer: An all around class. Has affinities for everything, and can either be one of the strongest or weakest of a class.

Fighter: Similar to Cultivator. Uses Mana to strengthen themselves in many ways, buffing any of their stats.

Healer: Pretty self explanatory. Heals themselves and allies using Akashi. Typically just a Magic-User.

Sage: A mage that primarily uses Earth and Wind magic.

Wizard: A mage that primarily uses Fire and Water magic.

Necromancer: Similar to Summoner. A Nekros user, always a Candidate, and usually Blessed by a Dark God or a god of the dead. Uses Nekros to create and summon the Undead.

Summoner: Similar to Necromancer. A Nekros user, always a Candidate, and usually Blessed by a Dark God or a god of the dead. Uses Nekros to summon monsters.

Soulmaster: A High Class that can be achieved by Adventurer Candidates, Summoners and Necromancers. Can use all manner of Nekros to save the abilities of monsters and other wielders of mana to objects, shadows, or monsters. Can also create and summon Monsters and Undead.

Cultivator: Similar to fighter, uses Mana to strengthen the body. Primarily Martial Artists of the eastern kind, at the highest level of this class, they can shift up to Immortal Swordsman, to Angel, and finally to God.

Immortal Swordsman: High Level Class. Similar to Cultivator, uses Mana to strengthen the body, granting them superhuman strength, speed, and dexterity, as well as immortality of the aging kind. Primarily Martial Artists of the eastern kind, at the highest level of this class, they can shift up to Immortal Swordsman, to Angel, and finally to God.

Angel: Higher Level Class. All wielders of Akashi can become this if they achive this highest level of mastery. They have superhuman strength, speed, and dexterity, they do not age, can control all elements of Akashi: Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. Almost a God.

God: Highest Level Class. Only those who reach Angel class can become this. They have superhuman strength, speed, and dexterity, they do not age, can control all elements of Akashi: Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. They simply cannot die, unless they wish to pass on their title to an Angel.

Demon: All wielders of Nekros can become this if they achive this highest level of mastery. They have superhuman strength, speed, and dexterity, they do not age, can control all elements of Akashi: Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. Can use all manner of Nekros to save the abilities of monsters and other wielders of mana to objects, shadows, or monsters. Can also create and summon Monsters and Undead. Almost a Demon Lord.

Demon Lord: Only one being whom has reached Demon class can become this. They have superhuman strength, speed, and dexterity, they do not age, can control all elements of Akashi: Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. They simply cannot die, unless they wish to pass on their title to an Demon, or challenged by the Allfather. Can use all manner of Nekros to save the abilities of monsters and other wielders of mana to objects, shadows, or monsters. Can also create and summon Monsters and Undead.

Allfather: The most powerful being in all the realms. Only the Demon Lord or a High God can HOPE to become this. Must be a Candidate, blessed by all of the Gods. Has absolute power, and cannot be killed by anything but itself. Ruler of all. Currently held by Odin.

So, those are the classes. Apparently, I am a Adventurer, which is kinda like a Multi-Character in a video game. In my opinion, I have the worst class. Ash and Gail are both Summoners, and Lucy is a Sage. The Professor said that tomorrow we will train with our Classes! I'm kind of exited, and I'm going to check out what the Cultivator class is about!
