"Hey? Are you okay?" Jeremy tapped James who was staring intently at the glass of bourbon in his hands. "Did the drink offend you? Because if it did we can just pour it out."
"Did you know?" James asked just above a whisper.
"Know what?"
"About Catherine." James continued to state at his drink.
"Oh, not initially no. But she told me when I asked her why you left." Jeremy answered while pouring himself a drink. "I don't understand why you were so upset."
"Because she lied to me, they all lied to me." James exclaimed smashing the glass on the table.
"Really? She lied to you? That's a bit rich coming from you, don't you think?"
"What are you talking about Jeremy?"
"We almost died a month ago when we were looking for Katie on that island and you decided to keep this from your sister because you wanted to keep the darkness away from her. Did you ask her why she didn't tell you?"
"No."
"Then maybe you should rather breaking my glasses." Jeremy said as he cleared the broken pieces of glass.
Reaching for a bottle of water James looked up, "I guess running wasn't the best option because Katie won't even come back to the penthouse."
"Well I can't say I blame her, I wasn't here but from what I heard she was a mess and that's not fair. So give are all the time she needs."
The duo chatted until late night before James left, not wanting to go home James decided to go to his office. He had a suite in his office anyway.
The next day, Katie went straight to Cindy's apartment to pick up her outfits.
"Did you tell him about the outfits?" Cindy said carrying a big dress box and a suit bag out. .
"No I didn't, I just said I'd be dropping something off." Katie collected the box and bag and headed for the door. "Oh and don't forget, Jeremy said he'll be here by six to pick you up."
After being stuck in traffic for hours Katie finally arrived in front of Ning corporation. By the time she arrived at James' office it was already three and she had to be home by five. But James wasn't around, his secretary said he was in meeting and he might take a while.
Not having any other choice, Katie dried the the suit bag and drove back home.
Finally, she stood in fron of her mirror all dolled up in her magical dress. The same dress Cindy had made for her James, he wanted them to wear it when he met her family and they were going to just that.
There was a light knock, "Jade are you almost done? I was told to accompany you down the stairs said Samuel from the other side of the door.
"Yeah, I'm done."
"Wow, you look breathtaking." Samuel said walking up to Katie.
"When did you start calling me Jade.?"
"I don't like the name Katie for you, because that's the name those evil people gave you. Jade is your name and it suits you perfectly." Pulling out a square box Samuel continued, "Dad wanted me to give this to you, after you were named he bought the best and purest Jade money could buy."
In the box was an elegant and simple Jade necklace that Katie couldn't take her eyes off. Samuel put it round her neck and lead her towards stairs.
Just as they approached they could hear father Zhou giving his speech.
"... We are glad that our Jade is back."
As Katie walked down probably the most ridiculous and extravagant stairs shebahd ever seen, she was overwhelmed. Katie wasn't used to such attention, everyone was staring at her probably judging her.
She was contemplating runniy when she turned towards a corner and saw James looking so radiant in his magical suit.
The couple maintained eye contact until Katie reached the bottom of the stairs where father Zhou took her hand and led her to greet some of their guest.
James who had just seen his girl, even if it was briefly was in complete awe, she looked magnificent and her dress looked so similar to his.
When he finished his meeting and rushed to his office to see Katie he was disappointed when she wasn't there all he was was a suit bag and a not saying "wear me" attached to it.
Looking a t the matching outfits he realized that this must be the clothes he told Cindy to design.
While Katie was taken from one esteemed guest to another, James, Nathan, Jeremy, Anna, Cindy and Catherine all sat at the same table drinking and taking, well Jeremy and Cindy did the talking but occasionally someone else would chip in.
James sat quitelu hoping to see Katie before the day ends. He excused himself to go to the garden which was also beautifully decorated, hearing footstep behind him James turned around.
"Miss me?"
