1 Chapter 1: Betrayal

'To think that my life would end up here, disabled'

"Ms Louise," I heard the nurse calling my name while bringing a med cart, obviously to get me ready for the day. "How was your morning Ms Louise?" she asked but I didn't answer and kept my cold composure until another nurse barged in. "Hey, Ana, don't ask her, you already know that she can't talk," the rude nurse replied while smirking at me but the nurse who's in charge of me didn't even pay any attention to what she just said.

"...and I'm done," nurse Ana cheered. After she did her duty she cleaned up before she left while dragging the other nurse that just barged in.

I looked at the window and noticed that it's almost winter. I sighed. While I'm here locked up at the hospital, I can't help but think about what happened that day. How I got betrayed by my own family.

-flashback-

It was a party in celebration of my 25th birthday. "So Lou, when do you plan on getting married?" one of my aunts asked. "Maybe sooner or later, when I find my Mr Right," I jokingly replied to them but they also laughed.

"Am I late for the party?" I looked to where the voice belonged and saw a man in his late 20's in a suit that clearly suited him. "Alex, you're here," greeted a familiar voice, it belonged to my father. "Good evening father," I greeted but he didn't greet me back so I just sat back to where I was earlier and minded my own business."

"Why is the birthday celebrant on herself on this joyful day?" it was the man earlier. "Call me Alex," now that I looked at him clearly he has black hair with almost a perfect face. "Louise," I introduced myself after sipping the champagne that I had in my hands.

...

"Thank you ladies and gentlemen for coming here to my daughter's 25th birthday celebration!" cheered my father followed by claps from the guests. "...and here is my gift to you my dear daughter," said my father then giving me a small box followed by a glass of wine. I didn't know why I had the feeling that something was not right but I still followed my other instinct and chose to ignore and grabbed the wine. "Thank you father," I said and drank it.

"Esteemed guests, please follow me for the Vergara's have stored a surprise for you all," our butler said which the guests eventually followed and then it started. My head started spinning until I was on the ground, groaning because of the headache that I felt, my vision is slowly getting blurry until darkness slowly eloped to me.

...

I was awakened by a splash of water thrown into my face. "Hah!" I breathed and adjusted my vision and there I saw my father. "Father, what is this?" I asked motioning to my tied state but to my surprise, he just smirked. "Lou, Lou, Lou, how foolish are you really to get trapped like this, by your own family?" he laughed maniacally.

"F-Fat-ther, y-you're jo-joking ri-right?" I can't help but stutter. He walked slowly towards me and pulled my hair upwards. "Do you really think that I'm joking?"

'And I still thought that he still has a surprise for me, for my birthday and assumed that this is a part of it. But still, indeed, I was foolish.'

"Sign here," he gave me a pen and a paper but I didn't follow his orders which made him angry resulting me to lose all my toenails. "Sign!" he shouted while I screamed in pain. "You're still not gonna sign?!" he shouted again and pulled a tool from his subordinate and cut my pinky finger.

"AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!" I shouted through the pain. Tears streaming through my eyes and me unable to do anything in this type of situation. "Father, don't torture sister too much, she's having a hard time," I heard a voice that is also painful for me to bear.

"AHH!" my hair was pulled up again and it was Natasha, my younger sister. "Sign the papers, sister, you're about to die anyway and it's a waste to let the money rot with you in your grave," she laughed just as annoying as my father did. "Oh and before you die, just to let you know that I've seduced the guy you're with earlier, I think his name was Alen? Aljen? Allan?-"

"Alex" were the only words I splurted out. "Yeah, Alex! and also I killed him after, that's what he gets for sticking up his nose in other people's business" those words were enough to bring my whole spirit down.

'How can a man who's innocent be dragged like this?'

"SIGN!!" he shouted again and there's me who has lost all hope finally gave in. I signed the document where all of my grandparent's riches would be transferred to him and my sister. And due to the shock, my body lost its ability to speak again.

-end of flashback-

After reminiscing the past my body felt as if energy was drained from thinking too much. I arranged my pillows in the most comfortable way possible and that is me facing the window knowing that the next person who would enter through that door would either kill me or save me.

-time skip (night)-

I did not eat dinner since I was not feeling up to it and just laid on my bed. After all, it's what people like me do who is almost incapable of doing such simple things. I stared out the window and imagined what my life would be if I could change the past or be reborn in another world or reincarnated in a family that is contented with what they have. But that imagination ended when I heard the door creaking. After a while I looked to see who that person is and was surprised when it was nurse Ana, whom I thought cared for me even if I was like this. She already injected something into my IV and slowly my consciousness faded away leaving my cold body laying on the bed.

'So this is how I die, the Louise Nieve Vergara,'

'Alex, who's just a man I just met is also dragged in this kind of situation, died,'

'To also think that my sister and my father would enjoy the riches that they forced me to leave behind...no...I can't let that happen...I want to have...

...

...revenge!'
