94 The Path That Evolves

Lucien didn't pay attention to the announcement, he was completely focused on the chains. His body was completely restored at this point, it seemed even more robust. Muscles were pulsing and veins were bulging.

"Good."

The figure looked at Lucien and smiled.

"You won't be able to shatter these chains as your Path is too weak at this point."

As the figure was talking, a shadow surged from below. It was shockingly the demon that held the fifth chain, which was not shattered. This one was not just a head, it had a complete body.

It didn't talk, but roared at the man. Lucien spat out blood from the roar that was so far away and was not even directed at him. Even with all this happening, he was not paying attention the surroundings. All his attention was on one of the chains that bound his right arm.

The blue haired man showed an even brighter smile at this sight, he didn't even pay the least bit attention to the shocking demon.

"Boy, listen well. The Freedom Path is a very special Path, it only starts as a Middle Path and has the potential to become more. Much more."

As he was talking he blew in the general direction of the demon. The whole prison started shaking following his light action. The demon was shoved back till it collided with the wall, where it became a splash of blood. But the attack didn't stop just there.

The wall itself started crumbling and in moments it became dust flowing in the Darkness outside the prison. Shockingly the cell was situated in the middle of nothing. There was just Darkness around it, and the cell was floating in the middle of it.

Just as the figure planned to lead out and leave, a sound spread. If he didn't have such powers, he might have not even heard it.

*crack*

He thought of something and immediately after that thought flashed in his mind, he turned his head as fast as it could, even if the though was incredulous.

Looking at that small figure that was already disappearing. He saw a tiny crack on one of the chain, if was almost invisible, but he could clearly make it out.

"Impossible...." For the first time he revealed an expression of shock. The chains were not something that could be damaged by this child. The strength, the boy possessed were not worth mentioning, but the impossible was right in front of his eyes.

The only thing this figure didn't realize was that Lucien was already a Rank 3 Practitioner, from the body given by All Existence, Lucien looked like a mortal.

Before he could do anything through, Lucien had already disappeared. But he had clearly heard the reaction of the man.

'These simulations are too real, it can't be that those people can actually peer through time and space and see my actions.'

Once he was back in his body, Lucien tried feeling his body and what changes did this Path bring.

The moment his tried checking things out, Lucien realized his body was bound. It was different from the chains in the prison as those were meant to keep him in place, while these were materializing in mid air and were wrapped tightly around his body, suppressing everything.

There were 9 chains and Lucien felt incredibly stifled by them. He couldn't find any gates inside his body that represented this Path.

'So this is the difference and what makes it unique, it doesn't even use the gate system. What happens when you break the shackles?'

Lucien had already realized bits about hit this Path actually worked and it was overpowered.

It used the will and determination of the user to determine what is an obstacle, and obstacles are then erased from the world. From what he understood, it materialized Soul Attacks and the stronger the will to be free and unfettered the stronger the Soul Attack.

The only obstacle to strong wills was the Soul stat, no matter how strong of a will a Practitioner had, he couldn't materialize a Soul Attack that was stronger than his Soul. But once the will was weak and yielding, the Soul Attack that was materialized would be very weak.

He still wanted to see if his assumptions were correct, and the best way was to ask All Existence.

'Show the description of the Freedom Path.'

-Freedom Path (Rank 0): The only way to progress in this Path is shattering the World Chains that are binding the Practitioner. To shatter a World Chain, Practitioner has to use his will and determination. Materialization of Soul Attacks is possible and depends on the strength of the will and the strength of the Soul(restricted to Rank 0).

Lucien looked at one of the chains that seemed the weakest and willed for it to disappear.

An undulation spread as a thin streak of his Soul Power flashed and cut across the chain like a blade. The chain easily cracked, his will was too strong for such a low level task.

Once the chain crumbled, Lucien felt light and free. It was as if a giant load has been removed even though his stats were completely ridiculous compared to Rank 0.

Lucien didn't pause and focused on the second chain. This time he used everything he had to make sure it worked.

The thin streak of Soul Power was even smaller compared to before and it was also completely invisible, it was a perfect assassination weapon. The chain had a crack on it but didn't shatter completely, Lucien had to slash a couple more times to finish the job.

The feeling of freedom was even more pronounced this time, he felt like the world itself was losing its grip on him.

Lucien tried attacking the third chain, but he couldn't even leave a scratch, so he left it for a later time.

'Show me the description again.'

-Freedom Path (Rank 2): The only way to progress in this Path is shattering the World Chains that are binding the Practitioner. To shatter a World Chain, Practitioner has to use his will and determination. Materialization of Soul Attacks is possible and depends on the strength of the will and the strength of the Soul(restricted to Rank 2). Materialized attacks can travel and change state between both Soul Attacks and like Material Attacks. Minor Teleportation is possible.-

'WHAT?!?'

Lucien gazed at the last part and ignored everything else.

'Show information on Minor Teleportation.'

-Minor Teleportation: Can teleport Practitioner within the reaches of his Soul Domain.'

'HAHAHAH.'

Lucien had never expected this, he knew that teleportation was possible for Rank 4 Lower Paths, like how Henry had performed it. But he now had it on a Rank 2 Path. He didn't know if there were differences in the grades of the teleportation, but even this was a pie from heaven or in his case hell. Plus, considering the size of his Soul Domain, he could now be a bit more reckless while hunting.

What he didn't understand till now was that the Freedom Path was completely focused on removing obstacles and oppression, and if it didn't work by using force, the obstacles could be bypassed in different ways, namely teleportation in this case. If someone was in your way to kill someone, just teleport to your target and ignore the obstacle, as easy as that.
