12 Defeating the monster

The griffin was approaching Stormwind at high speed. The path that we have overcome was not close. But fear drove both of us forward, without any desire to look back. The city would be surrounded by a crowd of orcs, who, like ants, moved in one direction, then in the other. Occasionally, lonely griffins flew in the sky with Stormwind scouts. They were not going to approach me; they only memorized and transmitted data on small communication artifacts. These artifacts are like walkie-talkies from my previous world.

I directed my griffin straight towards the royal palace, which was visible against other buildings' background. Sharp spears dug into the sky as if wanting to pierce them. The walls of the palace itself were made of snow-white marble and could not fail to attract attention. It is also impossible not to notice the gigantic statues of warriors that stood in various places. All of them seemed to indicate the power of this kingdom. But where is it now ...

The city was overcrowded, and it was visible. There were a huge number of people on the streets. The sorcerers tried to somehow resolve this issue, but they did not succeed very well. Around the city itself, a broken shield was visible, which indicated that the orcs had already accepted an attempt to attack the city. It turned out to be a failure. This already makes me happy.

When my griffin landed, he was immediately intercepted by local grooms. Throwing from the reins, I hurried to the nearest warrior, who was watching the order. I don't know if he was in the battle or not, but even he can tell the latest news.

"Hey, warrior," I turned to him, "Tell me, where can I find Anduin Lothar?"

"He's at the royal meeting now, with King Wrynn," the warrior replied without much trouble. "Who are you then?"

"The magician who brought some news," I answered him. "They're too urgent for me to stay here long.

"Hey, Loreim, who's there?" asked the magician who approached.

"Some young man, what to say if he has important news,: said the warrior. It looks like he didn't believe me. The magician examined me and then said:

"Tell me the news, and I will guide you to the king."

"News from Medivh," I told him without specifying what they are. "Was ordered to give them right into the hands of the king."

"From Medivh?" The magician asked more worriedly. "Why didn't you say it right away. Follow me. Quickly."

We walked quickly towards the palace. On the way, the guard looked at me with interest, but they were in no hurry to say something. There were only small glimmers of hope in their eyes. Hopes that the course of the war will be changed, and they will still be able to reclaim their lands. It's a pity, but it's not true. I am sure about this.

Quickly running up the steps, we stopped in front of the guards, which blocked the king's office entrance. I felt that a very heated debate was taking place there, which could definitely turn to assault. After some quick check, the guards let us in, as they were sure that we were exactly who we claim to be.

The magician opened the door and let me inside.

"Alistar?" asked me in surprise Lothar. The other people fell silent. They stared at me intently, as if I was some kind of curiosity.

"Yes, it's me," I replied. "I have some news."

"Who is this young man?" A warrior asked. He was no longer young, but I couldn't call him an old man either.

"Alistar, the apprentice of the Guardian," replied Lothar. "So, what's your news? May they be good. Has Medivh decided to join us?"

"You could say that," I said, and then added. "Medivh decided to help, but not to us.

It was hard for me to say this, and to break off these people so much. This can kill their last hope that this whole situation will end positively.

"What are you saying?" asked the king Wrynn. I recognized him by the golden crown that he wore on his head.

"I say that it was Medivh who opened the way for the orcs to Azeroth," I said coldly. "Though it would be too great an honor to call him Medivh. All this time, we were led by the nose. Medivh turned out to be Sargeras, a demon."

"A lie," one of the commanders cried out and shook his fist. "You are an orc spy, and you were sent to instill fear in us. It won't work."

"This boy is right," said a quiet voice. He went right to the bone. I would recognize this voice from a thousand. Aegwynn's voice. "Medivh is no longer my son."

"And you ..." said the same warrior.

"Aegwynn," the wizard who was present said quietly. "Have you decided to get out of your own exile?"

"Yes," answered the magician. "I did it even earlier and tried to stop the creature that my son had become. But, he easily defeated me and left to die. I spent all these three years in a coma."

"And what should we do?" King Llane Wrynn asked and fell back on his throne. Putting his hands on his chin, he began to think. "Medivh will not protect us, Aegwynn could not calm him down earlier ... What is left for us? "

"Do not despair, young man," said the magician. "Together with the young man Alistar and Sir Lothar, we will deal with this matter."

"Of course," I nodded in agreement. "Sargeras must be stopped before he brings more suffering. "

"If you take Lothar, then who will defend the city ..." the king drawled.

"You have other talented commanders," Aegwynn said.

"All right," the king waved his hand. "You must stop Medivh, whatever the cost. After that, I hope you can help us defend the city."

The magician nodded. Then she turned around and waved her hand, urging them to follow her. Lothar only looked at the king. He nodded to him, letting him go.

"Aegwynn," I said to the woman. "Shouldn't we get some more help from Dalaran?"

"Young man, do you think they have something to do? - she asked, stopping. "They will not do anything even if the cock starts to lay golden eggs."

"I know how to attract them," I said with a smile.

Lothar was talking to some warriors and giving them final instructions. After that, he came up to us and silently waited for something. I can clearly see that he does not feel at ease here.

"Sir Lothar," turned to him, "How many griffins can you provide?"

"I think five, six," he replied after some time of deliberation. "Not more. Others will be needed for intelligence purposes."

"I think that will be enough," I said, and then I turned to Aegwynn, who left the command to me. "We leave for Dalaran, I will try to negotiate with the magicians there."

"To the Violet Citadel?" she asked me.

"To the Council Chamber," I confirmed to her. "There should be a standard afternoon Council meeting there."

"Okay," said the magician.

She waved her hand, and in the next second, a radiance illuminated us. Another moment and we find ourselves in a familiar place for me. The archmages who are now there are already standing with their spells ignited, ready for anything.

"Wait, we are friends!" I shouted.

"Alistar," Antonidas was the first to recognize me, then he looked away and trembled, "Aegwynn."

Lothar was ignored by everyone. He is not a magician and therefore is not interesting to anyone. Although, it seems to me that if he at least paid attention to him, it would be much better. Yes, and he would be pleased. Well, okay, now is not the time to breed politics.

"I'll get straight to the point," I began to speak. "Sargeras is already in our world."

"What?!" voices of almost all magicians sounded. This news was shocking for them. "How?"

"Sargeras turned out to be Medivh," I added. "That means he has the powers of a Guardian. Do I need to explain how much stronger he has become?"

"No," Krasus said. With a wave of his hand, he calmed the magicians. "Go on, continue."

"In general, we need help in kicking the demon out of our world," I said. "Then you can investigate Karazhan."

"Hmm," Krasus drawled. "Sounds tempting."

The head of the Council of Six looked at the other archmages and said:

"Everyone can decide for himself whether he wants to go to this battle or not."

"Are you going?" I asked one of the archwizards.

"Yes," Krasus nodded. "I'll take another comrade of mine whom I trust. If you don't want to go, then I'm not forcing anyone."

"I'll go," Antonidas said. "If we don't stop him there, we'll meet him later at the gates of Dalaran. And I can't even imagine what kind of strength he will gain."

The mages nodded their heads, but no more of them agreed to go. No one wants to put their lives on the line, because the danger is far away, and others will already go there. This is the truth of life. Few people want to risk their skin in such a situation.

Some time had to be spent on settling all the formalities. After twenty minutes, we were again teleported to Stormwind. Together with us, there were four more magicians. These were two Counselors and some two of their assistants, who could compete in power with the other archmages who sit in the Council of Six.

"What's going on here?" asked Krasus, when we went to a special launch pad, where six griffins were waiting. He looked at the crowds of orcs who were making a very loud noise about something.

"Huh? Here?" - asked Lothar. "This is, what many of you called, a peasant uprising."

"It stinks of black magic," said one of the magicians, who was led by the Head of the Council of Six. His name was Mirel. "And you have been fighting against this for three years?"

"Alone," Lothar said, then added sarcastically. "But don't worry, we do not need help. You just get a kingdom on your borders, in which these warlocks run everything.

"And these warlocks, they are pawns of the Burning Legion," said Aegwynn, who had been silent all this time.

"This is not the case," Antonidas said. "Krasus, I think we need to send some help to them so that they can hold out until we return."

"I already gave the order," said the archmage. "In twenty minutes, regular forces are to teleport here, along with mages and humanitarian aid."

"Thanks," Lothar said.

"Enough talking," Aegwynn said. "It's time for us to go."

The archmages immediately recognized her, but no violent emotions came from them. They simply greeted her and inquired about Sargeras' abilities in detail. After that, they began to discuss the tactics of the attack and at the same time excluded me and Lothar from the discussion.

The knight was somewhat offended, and I understand him. During these three years of war with the orcs, he managed to become a famous commander, who won battles more than once. And here he is just excluded from the discussion. I also felt not comfortable. But they are famous mages, what can Medivh student add to their tactics?

But you know, I don't need to discuss this because I am sure that everything will go down the drain and, no matter how hard they try, the plan will simply be unfulfilled. So, let them discuss what they want. With the forces that we have, many opponents can be defeated. Although this demon is not many. He has colossal strength, knowledge, and experience. Victory over his physical container does not mean victory over his spirit. He has already proved that he can survive and endure many things.

The flight should be quick, I hope so. Although I already managed to overcome this distance, it was in a hurry, and I did not have time to consider what was happening under my feet. Now when I looked, I was stunned. We were just flying over a completely destroyed village, which had burned out long ago. And only some houses remained half-intact, creating the impression of the teeth of a giant monster. The orcs were very cruel, and they did not spare anyone.

I already knew this, and the following settlements only served as confirmation for this. They didn't care about the bodies of the corpses or anything at all. Orcs did not even collect dead people but left them to rot where they fell. This war will definitely be remembered for a long time in this country. But this is just the beginning. Dusk was already slowly falling to the ground, hiding the brutality of the orcs with a veil.

On the way, I even fell asleep a little without noticing it myself. Still, I've been through too much. The few hours of sleep I got during my escape will not replace adequate sleep. At least I will feel fine and a bit more refreshed.

I felt the griffin begin to descend and woke up almost instantly. The view was grabbing attention. The tower, which until then just looked mystical and glowed with white light, now looked menacing. Dark magic swirled there. Black shadows roamed around, creating whimsical curves of light. But that was not terrible.

Green streams of energy pounded from the tower into the surrounding ground, as if trying to drive something into it. The observatory was the source of all this. I sensed a mighty demon within, who had no intention of leaving Azeroth peacefully. He will definitely resist.

"Lothar," I said to the knight as we sat down on a special seat. The mages again began to look around carefully and quietly talk about something. "There's something else."

"Yes?" He asked me, bending over slightly.

"Besides Medivh himself, there are also his servants here, as well as one Orc woman," I said to him. "It seems to me that this Orc has quite a lot of weight in the Horde since Medivh himself sometimes called her an emissary."

"Hmm," he drawled, rubbing his beard. "Why are you telling me this and not the magicians?"

"You're not an archmage," I told him. "Just like me. So it will be useful for you to know about the likely opponents. In general, I advise you not to rush ahead. Let's leave that to the stronger magicians."

"Okay," the knight nodded.

"Be careful," Aegwynn said as we were all about to enter. I won't say that I really want to be here, but I can't refuse. So I have to keep playing the hero. I never thought that I would be able to take part in this.

We began to slowly enter, and almost instantly, streams of dark magic fell on us. They tried to reach us, but the shield that Aegwynn had created simply deflected these currents to the sides, allowing us to go further. We began to slowly climb the stairs, not paying attention to the fact that everything around us was covered with this demonic energy. I will say this, I would gladly burn this place to the ground to not just go inside. The mages were preparing for a fight for a difficult battle.

When we went out to the corridor, a large, even gigantic demon was woven from the shadows in front of us. It wasn't Sargeras, no. It was an ordinary demon of rather great strength, which I simply could not cope with. But for the archmages, he may be one bite.

"Stop," I said to Lotaru, holding his shoulder slightly. He stopped.

The magicians at this time dispersed around the demon. He looked at them attentively, but he was in no hurry to attack either.

"Disappear, demon," said Krasus, and slammed his staff on the floor. He trembled for a moment. Small stones began to rise into the ground, but so far, they have not moved anywhere.

"Hra!" the demon breathed a green-violet flame. "I can feel your souls. They will be good food for me. "

In the next second, he drew two giant swords and lunged forward. Three spells almost simultaneously hit the demon, knocking him back several steps. He roared that even the ceiling of the tower shook. In the next second, a ball appeared in his mouth from which a light green ray of great strength burst out. In an instant, this ray burned through the wall and floor, leaving deep grooves in them. The mages joined forces and created a silvery chain among themselves. As soon as the demon's magical attack crashed into one, snow-white snowflakes shone around. Time seemed to slow down and then exploded into action. The magicians attacked simultaneously, and the demon only jerked over to the nearest wall and pushed off with force, leaving a network of cracks.

After another moment, he crashed into the shield that Kras's friend had put up and suddenly got stuck. In the next second, two powerful spells hit him. The magicians were just starting, but the demon did not want to die that easy. I need to help them somehow.

I began to slowly chant the exorcism spells. I could feel the energy slowly flowing out of me and calmly forming into a strange circle of silvery energy with every word. The power continued to pour out in a stream. The circle turned into chains, which captured the demon and began to slowly pull him somewhere deep into reality. It was strange to explain how everything happens. Exhaling, I pushed energy, and reality collapsed around the demon and showered with broken glass particles.

"Yes," stretched Antonidas. "It's been a long time since I fought like that."

"Worse things ahead," Aegwynn said, straightening her clothes. "We shouldn't relax."

"I agree," Meryl said. That was the name of Krasus assistant. "We must be prepared for a possible severe clash."

We continued on our way, slowly climbing higher. It is there that Medivh should be waiting for us, ready to fight. Prepared to destroy and slaughter. On the way, I approached one of the walls and took a sword from there. Even if I do not know how to use it, but that does not mean that I cannot string someone on it like a piece of meat. Lothal just grunted at that and said nothing. The sorcerers paid no attention to me.

The next second we took a step forward, and a flock of large creatures flew at us, which could scare anyone. But for magicians, this was not an obstacle. Exhaling, they scattered them in one gust. Lothar and I just continued to stand and watch it, keeping our strength.

We continued on our way and entered the office in which Medivh sometimes liked to sit. The floor was very strange and looked a lot like obsidian. As soon as we step on it, it froze, releasing the remnants of the fiery stream.

"I was expecting you," Medivh said, turning to us. His beard instantly burst into flames, and horns grew on his forehead. "I waited, and you came. to me"

"You can't bring pain to this world anymore," Krasus said. "We will stop you here and now. "

"I see that my apprentice has mustered sufficient strength for this battle," the demon said and grinned. "But do you think that will be enough?"

"Of course," Mirel said. "You're not in your body, Sargeras."

"Ah, it's you, Mirel," he said. "Creator of Guardians ... How many times have you stopped my subordinates. I wanted to find you and strangle with my own hands. But you came to me yourself ... "

Wait, was this magician really the creator of the Guardians? If so, then he must be quite a few years old. If so, then our chances are much higher than I previously thought.

"Lothar," I said to the knight. "Get ready."

"Of course," he nodded.

"Don't think you can get to me so easily? Medivh asked. "first, you must defeat my servants."

In the next second, creatures familiar to me appeared from the green fire. It was Garona, Morose, and the cook, whose name I never knew. They were not at all like real themselves. But, this is understandable, since they were under the rule of a great demon.

"Alsitar, Lothar," said Krasus "We leave these minions to you. We ourselves will take on Sargeras."

"Got it."

There was nothing else for me to answer. In the next second, a powerful sound of thunder was heard, which blinded for a second, and all the powerful magicians flew into the air, breaking through the ceiling. It crumbled, but I managed to create a shield around myself and Lothar, thereby protecting us from them.

"Now it's my turn to fight," said Lothar. He drew his sword and swung it. In the next second, he was lit up with a light that spread from the runes that were at the handle. Spinning them, he stood in position, preparing to attack.

"You have an interesting sword," I told him.

"An artifact," Lothar replied.

We could not talk further. Garona disappeared in a flash of darkness and almost instantly appeared in front of us. But that was not enough to kill us. Lothar placed his sword under two daggers and pushed her away with ease, defending himself.

"I'll take this orc myself," he said. "Those two remain for you."

"Good."

I whirled my staff around and prepared to fight. Morowse and the cook looked at each other, then began to move closer. Their hands were covered with a strange dark green liquid and turned into large claws. With this, they can cut a person and not worry too much that he will survive.

"Ok," I said quietly, carefully observing the actions of these two. The next second, I placed a shield in front of me and cast a spell on the approaching demon servants. They tried to attack me, but I defended myself.

From Lothar's side, there was a clang of iron, bumping into each other. Exhaling, I tried to calm myself. I have my fight here.

Morose ducked sharply and began to transform, almost losing his face. It was covered with some lines, which then slowly flared up, exposing the skull's bones. I just exhaled and tightened my grip on the staff.

Morowse leaped at me, clawing at my barrier as if it was made of paper. After that, he again jumped towards me and was already preparing to blow off my head. But I, too, was not weak, and I easily inflicted a powerful magic blow on him, which knocked him back. Then I had to attack again and defend myself from the cook's attack.

Spinning my staff, I decided to go on the attack myself. This is not the case when I can stand still and fight back. I created a ring of lightning around me with a sharp movement, which flew in a jerk towards the demons, forcing them to jump. But that was just the beginning. Concentrating, I tore the spell, and it struck in all directions with blue discharges. Some fell into demons. A great howl arose from this.

I had a few seconds and looked up at the heavens. The fight there was not like the one in which I took part now. Flares crashes and explosions lit up the surrounding sky. Calmly nodding my head at all this, I focused on my battle.

The demons had already come to their senses and were now slowly approaching me. Morowse and the cook jumped towards me. Spinning my staff, I created a wave of energy that blew them away again, and then I jumped, unleashing two powerful blows. The cook didn't have time to dodge, and this blow just ripped the lower part of her torso. Morose managed to roll back, and now he was looking at me with even more anger.

"Come," I told him and then added. "Now I will treat you with my magic, so much so that you will be well-fed until the end of time."

The demon-Morowse trembled, then roared and lunged at me. He started swinging his claws so that it was like some kind of meat grinder. But it doesn't matter to me. Spinning my staff, I launched a powerful Air Blow at him, which sent him across the floor. Then I added more lightning bolts and nailed it with fire. He could no longer defend himself.

According to the classification, these demons could grow into very powerful opponents if they had the opportunity to devour other sentient beings' souls. And so, at the very beginning, they are even weaker than some demons and can only be a danger to an untrained warrior. I don't know why he Sargeras turned them against us ...

The cook was crawling to the side, leaving traces of blood behind. As soon as she noticed that I was approaching her, she stopped and looked at me with her ugly look. Looking into her eyes, I saw that there was only fear, as well as some kind of understanding.

"Disciple," she hissed ... "Kill the mad master, it's very hard for me to control myself."

I was in no hurry to bend over to her, and she understood why. Exhaling, she lifted her clawed hand and dug into her chest. She cried out in pain and then began to slowly stretch her hand. Without approaching her, I decided to help her with my magic. As I pulled her hand up with magic, I gasped. In her hand was a crystal that glowed with a clear blue color. Strange energy emanated from him.

My crystal, which was the soul, slowly trembled inside, and like a small child, pulled his hand to him, as if saying, "Give!" I picked up the crystal with my magic. At this time, the cook's head fell, and her eyes rolled back. Exhaling, I continued to look closely at this crystal, and then put it in my pocket. I will consume it later.

Lothar was still fighting the orc. From the knight breathed hate, as well as the desire to destroy the orc. The orc tried to defend herself, but she could only repulse and try to counter-attack with powerful blows with an artifact sword. But Anduin wasn't about to give up so easily. The next second, he took a swift step forward, and then stabbed the orc through with his sword. It burst into white light and burned a large hole the size of a child's head into the body of Sargeras' servant. Her daggers fell from her hands, and she fell to the ground, staining everything around with blood.

Lothar was only trying to catch his breath. I went up to him and almost got a sword in the neck. It's good that I had a protective artifact that held back this blow. Lothar realized that it was me and withdrew my weapon.

"It has been a long time since I felt such joy from destroying an enemy," he shook his weapon. "I see that you have dealt with your opponents."

"Of course," I nodded to him. "It was not very difficult. Are you hurt?"

"I think I have a broken rib," he said grimacing. I immediately pulled out the regeneration potion and handed it to him. He took the potion and poured it into himself. Grimacing, he threw back the glass bottle and smashed it. "Wow, it feels good."

"You own me a glass now," I told him. And not why break what is mine. "And I will not forget about it."

"When we get back to Stormwind, I'll give it back to you," he said with a grin.

At this time, a star fell from the sky. The impact shook the floor and cracked the floor. Exhaling, I prepared to fight. A gust of wind blew away the raised dust and showed us the broken body of one of the magicians. It was Antonidas lying around with a broken doll. Life in him was no longer felt.

Is Sargeras winning? After another second, the demon almost fell on my head. I managed to jump back in time. As he rose, I launched a beam of lightning at him. He crashed against the defenses, but that was enough for the other mages to gather their strength.

Krasus, Aegwynn, and Mirel landed on the floor and began preparing a joint attack. Sargeras looked very shabby. A portion of his cheek was completely burnt, showing horrible teeth. Green lightning flashed from his hand, and the mages' spell shattered, throwing them in different directions.

"You are weak," he said. "You can never compare to a demon unless you yourself are a demon."

"Not so fast," Mirel said, rising. He quickly came to his senses. "Now, I will explain why you cannot win here."

He spread his arms and looked like some kind of bird. Flying lights lit up around him, which began to spin faster. A chilling cold began to spread from him. The fire turned into spheres of ice, which flew at high speed at Sargeras. He did not have time to dodge and the blow struck him, pushing him even further. After that, sphere after sphere flew into him, pushing harder into the wall. It was covered with a crust of ice that glistened with energy.

"Now!" Mirel shouted. At this time, Aegwynn stood up abruptly, and a bluish lightning bolt erupted from her hand, slamming into Sargeras, causing him to cry out in pain. He tried to twirl his staff, but Krasus rose and gave out a powerful fiery stream, which slowly began to melt the stone.

"Is that all?" The demon roared. "You are definitely fools."

Sargeras clapped his hands, and a wave flew in all directions, which threw us all onto our backs.

"You are weak," he said calmly. At this time, I raised the blade, which I had recently thrown back. Aegwynn rose slowly. She looked at me, then nodded her head. What does this mean?

The magician lunged forward and grabbed Sargeras by the body, hugging him. The fire began to creep over her.

"Hit him, Alistar!" cried Lothar. "Don't worry about her!"

Without thinking, I lunged forward and stabbed Aegwynn in the back, impaling her, and then Sargeras. He looked at me with wide eyes, and then slowly began to roll onto his back. I thrust my sword even deeper and then lit it. Sargeras' features twisted in pain, and then he flew out of Medivh's body in black smoke. Sharply spinning around, I felt his terrible gaze on me.

"Alistar, I will destroy you ... " said the smoke and then burst into a vast green wave that burst in all directions for long miles, turning the once green place into a haven of dark magic.

I fell to my knees from the weakness that came immediately after this explosion. Trying to catch my breath, I felt my crystal soul relax a little and began to slowly generate energy. But that wasn't enough for me.

"Well done," Lothar said, helping me up. He looked at Aegwynn's burned body. Part of her body turned into a skeleton, and the other only smoldered with green fire. "You could not have done otherwise."

"I understand," I told him. "But there could have been some other way around."

"Perhaps this was not the case," Mirel said, coming up to me. He looked very tired. Unable to bear it, I handed him a mana recovery potion. "How many of them do you have?"

"Not many," I told him. "There are several bottles left."

"I see," he nodded, drinking the potion. I do not think that it will fully restore his supply, but what it will recover will be enough to cast magic without fear of dying.

Krasus also came up to us and exhaled. He looked pretty bad, but still not as bad as it could have been. I nodded my head and banged my staff. Aegwynn's body slid to the side, revealing Medivh's mutated body. The sword I thrust into him now looks unfit for battle. At the point where he entered Medivh's body, which was under Sargeras' control, the metal cracked and cracked. It can no longer be used for battles.

"Good," Krasus said. "We were able to do it, and now it is time for us to leave this place."

I felt the tower slowly start emitting some strange energy. Ir slowly began to move to some secret place. I looked around and saw the swirls of energy disappearing somewhere. But here's where. It seemed as if she was just scattered in space, not going anywhere.

"Can you feel it?" I asked the magicians.

"What are you talking about?" asked me Krasus, carefully looking around and picking up his staff.

"The magical energy began to slowly leave here," I told him. "Its also slowly taking secrets out of here."

"Hmm," Mirel held out and also tried to feel something, but nothing worked for him. I understand that very well.

"Soon, it will become just a tower."

And my words came true, those interesting things and events that we could observe slowly came to naught. The reality around the tower became simple. But that was not true. A sense of danger appeared as if out of nowhere. It seemed as if someone was looking at us. Other magicians felt it too.

Krasus hit the floor, and two corpses caught fire. After that, he went to Antonidas, slowly bent down, and closed his eyes. Exhaling, I burned the bodies of Medivh's demon servants before turning to Lothar.

He looked at the heavens, where the dawn had just broken. The last stars were still in the sky, but then they began to disappear. In the distance was a reddish disc that rose very slowly, sending its warmth to the surrounding earth, banishing darkness, and allowing you to look around without the desire for light.

"New day," said Lothar. "New worries."

"Or maybe not," I told him. "Come on, we need to get back to Stormwind. Nothing is over yet.

"I understand," Anduin said, and turned away.

We began to descend. Now it was just a tower without any magic. There was nothing here, only a strange sense of danger. The other sorcerers didn't seem pleased. Krasus levitated Antonidas' corpse. The death of the archmage was unexpected for me. I thought it would all turn out differently for him, but I was wrong. Perhaps, if he had not gone with us, then everything would have gone according to a different scenario. And, perhaps, everything would be much worse.

Lothar whistled, and a few minutes later, the griffins appeared. They slowly lowered themselves and gave us their backs. Taking off, Lothar immediately directed them towards Stormwind, and we followed him.

The surrounding land has become a terrifying place. As soon as we moved away from him, the feeling of black magic slowly faded away. But it seems to me that this place will now become a permanent problem for the surrounding lands. When we flew a sufficient distance from the tower, everyone felt a terrible stream that enveloped this tower for a moment and then disappeared in a second. But after that, large and heavy clouds formed over these lands from which branchy lightning sometimes fell.

Now we have neither the time nor the energy to stop and study this phenomenon. So we just continued on our way towards Stormwind. And I, finally, managed to plunge somewhat into sleep.
