Chapter 18

Asher looked madder than before that Alicia had to gulp down her own saliva, in order to save her own self she had made him more furious and now he held her captive without planning to free her, just what should she do?, she thought of whispering the spell that would make him go to sleep and stop all what he was doing till he came back to his right mind but she didn't have enough powers to cast the spell and it probably won't make much effect as it should because she had used all her powers in finishing the tedious work he assigned to her in this mansion.

So Alicia could just pray for something to distract him and she could use that opportunity to run for her dear life. But unfortunately for her nothing came, she screamed when she felt a sharp pain across her arm and when her eyes turned to look at Asher who had bit her arm harshly. She saw blood dripping down her arm.

she was trying to wriggle off him but all her efforts seem to be futile, her eyes was already turning hazy when she saw Lisa walked out of the room, what was the woman doing? how could she let Asher find out that she was here? she jerked her head towards the door so the the woman would leave quietly so she wouldn't be caught by Asher who was feasting on her fragile arm, the woman looked like she had another plan as she walked closer to them and with a snap of her fingers, Asher had fallen to the ground. And so did she because of the blood drained from her.

"Ian" Lisa called and she saw the butler move out of his hiding spot, Lisa didn't plan to reveal her self but the circumstances made her to, if she hadn't appeared in the nick of time maybe Alicia would have been dead.

"Yes my lady" The butler answered her although he was quite shocked that she was in the mansion all these while, didn't his master throw her out the other day and told her never to return, he shook his head at the woman just what would happen to her if Asher finds out that this woman was living under the same roof as he. He probably won't take it lightly. Ian knew that he had no business in the family matter of his master, he was here to work and not to pry into someone's else's business.

"Take the girl to her room but first help me with my son, let's take him to his room" The woman muttered and the butler nodded his head in agreement.

They helped Asher get to his room as they laid him properly on his large bed, his mother took care of him while the butler took the other girl to her room and let her be on the bed as instructed by Lisa. After tending to her son, Lisa moved to where Alicia was to take care of her wound, after she had cleaned the wound and put some antiseptic cream on it so she would get infected by the bite, she wrapped it up with the bandage and then left the room so the girl sould get enough sleep.

As she was walking down the stairs she came across the butler who had a grim expression on his face on looking at her, Lisa was well aware of the stare so she opened her mouth to say, "Don't tell Asher about this so the girl wouldn't get punished, you see he has been doubting her and if you run that mouth in front of him I just cannot imagine what he would do to her" She said referring to Alicia.

"It's okay madame, I'll not say anything to him" The butler promised, although when he came here to work for Asher he had took an oath to never keep anything away from him but now he just had to so he could save the girl in the room.

"I'll be leaving now and would come back for his wedding, you'll help me send a gift to him- not directly you know" the woman said again and Ian nodded at her. She bid him farewell and left the house silently.

Asher woke up with his emerald green eyes staring at the ceiling, he looked over at his cat who was curling itself on his cupboard, he slowly sat up on the bed as he remembered what he had done, he had went on a killing spree because of the news that got to him that he'd be marrying Isabel.

He walked over to the mirror to see the red line over his forehead which already disappeared like nothing happened in the first place, he now remembered what he had done to Alicia, she had hit his head with the vase and he had bitten her arm in return. The girl must be in pain now, he thought to himself as he pinched the brow between his forehead, he reached for one of his small cupboards and pulled out a balm which serve as antiseptic cream that would prevent her from getting infected. Getting that, he walked out if his room.

Looking down from the railing, the mansion was already spotlessly clean like nothing had taken place in here an hour ago, his eyes met his butler Ian who offered a slight bow to him and Asher took note that he hadn't been injured at all. Good he thought to himself as he made his way to Alicia's room.

Kicking the door open, his eyes fell across the girl that was laid on the bed, she was sleeping. He frantically walked over to the bed as he sat next to it and his green eyes unconsciously fell on her face which looked serene. She looked so peaceful while sleeping that Asher couldn't help but stare at her, no matter how hard he tried to break away his gaze his eyes would surely fall back on her, his eyes trailed her features and when it found her lips, he stopped there as he took in the heart shaped plump pink lips, he was resisting the urge to press his against hers... He shrugged his shoulders, she wasn't awake so he could do it. Slowly and slowly he was leaning against her, his bangs was now resting against her forehead and without wasting much time, he kissed her. She was soft and sweet he noted as he let go of her, his eyes fell on the arm that he had bitten and his hand slowly moved to touch it.

When he saw that it was bandaged, he was thinking of losing the bands and then applying the cream before wrapping it again. And that he did, but when he lose the band, his eyes narrowed at her arm which was pale and smooth. He couldn't see any sign of being bitten, taking a closer look at it, g realized that the mark had gone. But how? how was that possible when she was a human, the mark of the bite was supposed to be visible, he thought to himself.

Was she a vampire? no, that couldn't be, she didn't drink blood and didn't have red eyes or so, but she wasn't a human either or else the mark would have remained so what was she? he asked himself as he looked at her face which gave nothing away but calmness and peace, either way, he had to find out.
