Alice in Dystopia

It's a dark room surrounded by a lot of tiny lamps. There's a keyboard, big monitor, large tubes filled with water and a lot of other machines too. Likes an experiment lab. All of them are covered in dust. It's easy to say, that the place has been buried for more than years.

In the center of the room, there's a big capsule made of glass. It's full of blue clean water. A sleeping girl could be seen inside it. Naked. Her hair is black. Very long, even longer than her beautiful body.

There's crack sound.

When the second blows launched, the glass is broken released everything inside. The boy instantly moved away, avoided the water. Of course, it would be impossible not to get wet.

"Ugh, my shoes!" said the boy with an uncomfortable smile. He shrugged, then change his focus again.

At least, it was only his shoes, when he thought about that, he didn't care about it anymore. There's something more important to take care of. In front of him, the girl fell unconscious on the floor. The boy immediately moved toward her.

For a human, helping other people is a normal thing to do, especially when the situation become really bad. However, this one is different. It was just pure, his curiosity. Not every day you're able to meet beautiful girl, naked, sleeping peacefully. Weird isn't it?

The boy touched her cheek. It was soft. The hair looks real. The face and skin too. All of these things provide more reason for the boy to believed what he felt. She's … the girl in front of him without a doubt is a human.

His eyes moved to something dangerous. How about the inside? It feels like there's a demon talked inside him.

"No, no, no …! I can't check the inside too! Ugh …!" He gulped, then turned his face around."Uuh … This is beyond my limit! W-What should I do? Why am I alone at times like this? Uuh …" The boy confused.

Today is an expedition day. In one group there are seven to ten people. For a reason, he got late and lost in this underground weird laboratory. He believed, he will get praise for discovering it, and right now he felt that maybe it was a bad decision trying to accomplish it alone.

This is the first time he saw a naked body. There's a weird sensation that hard to explain. Feels good, but creepy at the same time. Something might happen if he keeps staring, so he looked the other way.

The girl coughed a few times. She opened her eyes slowly. It's a dark red color. Beautiful with a sense of death in it, like blood.

The boy lifted her head. "A-are you okay? C-can you talk?!" Asked the boy while trembling.

Still coughing. "T-this is? M-My head?!" The girl confused. She touched her head. Something sharp just hit her brain. A memory. "Ugh …" Cough. "Wh … Where?" asked her with a weak voice. "Who are you?"

"I am Alin. And, this is … w-where? Uhm, I am not sure. This place seems to work as a hidden laboratory. Well, I can say, we're in the underground though. Sorry, but I need to make sure. You're not an android, right?"

"Ugh …" Keep coughing.

"Well, android can't cough right? I wonder. Anyway, you okay? You seem to be in pain?"

The girl pushed him to give her space. Still sitting in the same place, the girl touched her neck and nose with another hand. She breathes. An air flowing through her nose. For a reason, she needs to check if she's really alive.

"Uwaa, I-I am sorry?" Alin worried.

"W-wait, I will get you something."

"..."

Aline left the girl. Less than 2 minutes, he already come back with something.

"Use this!" Alin give the girl a blanket. It's not big to cover all of her body, but still better than nothing.

"Uhm … this place is a bit cold and it's almost night. Can you walk? We have to leave this place!"

"Leave? Where?" The girl calmed down.

"There's a basecamp near here. I live with a lot of people there. It's better if you follow me."

"It's … better for me to follow you?" repeated the girl. More memory of her past slowly returns. "You might regret it." Her tune changed.

"Eh? Why is that?" The boy didn't understand. "It's true I don't know who you are? Or what you are? But, I can't just leave you here."

The girl tried to stand, but with her fragile legs, she fell again . "Ugh."

"Y-you don't need to push yourself." Alin tried to help her, but instead …

"Don't touch me!" The girl raised her voice.

"I-I am sorry!" He lowered his head while keeping his distance.

Again, the girls tried to stand up. After years sleeping like a log, it's not easy to move her legs. Her body trembled, her skin shivered, her breath felt heavy. Compared to her old self, she feels very weak.

"..."

"By the way, you have a name? I don't know how to call you."

"..."

"Wait …! Don't tell me you lost your memories?" Alin felt bad to say that, but he can't help it. "Uhm, maybe we can think one or two names for you," said Alin while thinking.

"Your jacket!" asked the girl.

"Huh …?" Alin surprised. He lowered his shoulders.

"You said it yourself, there's gonna be a lot of people there." It was a serious face with a cold glare.

"Ugh, well …" Alin can't argue. As a man, it's impossible to draw his words back. For Alin himself, he wore a white t-shirt inside the jacket. So, it's not like he will be naked.

The girl wore Alin's black jacket. Her body is thin, but compared to Alin, she's taller. A little uncomfortable, but the girl didn't think much about it. The last thing to do is, she used the blanket to covered the lower part. "So, how to get out from here?"

"How about your name?"

"..."

Alin grasped the situation. If she lost her memories, she will just say so, but instead, she never said anything. Alin opened his mouth. "Uhm, then what about your hair? You can't just walk like that."

Her long black hair touched the floor. What makes it worse is, the hair is very wet. It's very dangerous to walk like that especially in the dark place.

The girl looked down. She took one of the broken glass on the floor and cut her hair. While the girl doing it, Aline just stood watching not knowing how to respond about what happened in front of him.

If Alin being honest, the haircut looks ugly, but thinking about where they are right now, both of them doesn't have choice. It's for temporary.

After fifteen minutes walking, Alin and the girl manage to get out. They appeared in a parking lot. A lot of car can be seen, but no one inside it. Even the building itself is in bad shape. It will be even more creepier when the sun dissapear.

"Boy, we're in Jakarta, right?"

"Eh, uhm, y-yeaah," said Alin with a weird expression. He's unsure about something.

Well, it isn't really important for the girl, so she stopped asking a question. At least, she could ensure that her memories were correct.

"It will be very dangerous at night. We better move now!"

Alin showed his bike. Not big, but good enough for two people. The girl said nothing. Alin is the one who drives it, while the girl sits behind him. On the way, many dead cars were being left alone. From the condition, it has been abandoned for quite a long time. No one was seen on the street, only the two of them. Even every building they passed, all of them is empty.

"Uwwaah!!"

Alin stopped the bike carefully. There is something really big in front of them.

"That is …" The girl wasn't surprised. Her reaction was like, it's been a while she didn't saw them.

What they saw looks like an animal, but bigger and unusual. The torso resemble to a horse. The head is deer without ears and accompanied by its big horns. On its body, there's something similar. Branched horns that form wings. The skin is white metallic and silvery blue bright for the horns. The creature's height is three meters tall.

"W-why there's an S-rank outsider here?" Alin petrified. It's normal for humans to feel scared, seeing such a large creature.

"S-rank?" The girl was confused and didn't understand.

S-rank is the highest and strongest in the outsider's list. Is that the one who destroyed the city? It seems not, thought the girl. The creature looks passive. Basically, that thing will not attack except to protect itself.

"We have to find another way."

"How far is it?"

"Uuh, I am not sure. Half an hour maybe."

"Continue!"

"Eeh?! We will die if we approach it." From the tone of his voice, Alin doesn't lie. "If it's only C or B rank, I don't mind. But …" Alin spoke with a tiny voice.

"How fast is this bike?"

"How fast? Is that like … a joke or something? Look its body!" Alin pointed at the outsider with his finger. "It's a horse! A big horse! Please don't ask, how fast is this bike just to make sure we can beat that thing in a race?!" Alin shouted quickly while held back so he didn't run away.

"You're annoying." The girl feels irritated. "Anyway, that thing will now follow us."

"How do you know?"

"What's the code name?"

"Eh, code name? I am not good about outsiders actually. I think, it's Electro Deer." Alin seems unsure. "So, what's the plan?"

The girl watched the outsider named electro deer. The creature is in the same position while eating something. A rock from the fragile building, iron, brick, and other material.

"Continue."

Actually, Alin doesn't want to follow her order. As an expedition member, avoiding an outsider above A-Rank is an important rule. However, with the girl forcing him, also both of them running out of time. He put his trust in the girl. "If we die, please don't blame it on me, okay!"

After sighed, Alin followed the girl's will. It would be more appropriate if, there was no point in arguing in that place. Alin pulled the gas and move again. Alin ensures that the bike doesn't make much noise.

Electro deer turned its head, noticed Alin and the girl riding a bike. After a while, the deer resumed eating the damaged building. As the girl said, the outsider does nothing and just ignore both of them.
