5 Chapter Five

2013

Sitting at the coffee house, Joshua slowly sipped his coffee. It was disconcerting that both his tracking devices were disabled. No leads, no matter. He was the strongest out of a group of three. That's why he was put on this mission. He knew the small girl was a time keeper…, But she has no idea of how powerful he was. He knew of the small boy, and girl, and the older children, he was prepared. After all knowledge is power.

There was no reason he needed to run around a town he was unfamiliar with, instead he would have to focus his attention on the time traveler. Since he was unable to intercept the duo, he would simply collect her. The others, he would deal with in time. Breaking his train of thought, a waitress approached him.

"Can I get you anything else sir?"

Looking up at the fragile blond, he smiled. "No thank you. Could you please not interrupt me again?"

"Oh sorry, no you won't be bothered again."

Thinking back to his recent adventure, he recalled the first time he saw the little time keeper. When he was a rouge at Green Peter. He heard a rustling in the trees off to the left of him. There she was….running through time…. Pink little jacket flailing through time as she raced minutes ahead.

It was just a good thing he could shroud himself and his stupid accomplice while she past, she, nor the man named Chris was none the wiser. It was a good thing he had incredible use of time as well. She wouldn't be a problem.

The time traveler, on the other hand, might be. What he needed to do was follow a trail, remnants she left in time until he could intercept the time she was at. He could then travel to her and grab her up. The only problem was he needed to first pick up on her trail, which would be hard to do considering he wasn't sure how many times she would jump before he got to the first location. She could be jumping around aimlessly lost, looking for her boy with no clue where to start. She would get more frantic at the thought of losing him through time and jump even faster…, this was such a hindrance. Why couldn't it have been the easier route…, damn time keepers…., he couldn't wait to get that little bitch out of the way.

For now, focus on the time traveler. Closing his eyes, he placed his hands palm side up on the table. Allowing the air to fluctuate through his fingers, he felt for the pulses in the air. Nothing stirred, she was not close yet. It was only a matter of time. Picking up his coffee he took another sip, finishing the last of it he headed out of the coffee shop and to his car parked across the street.

Thinking about his plan, he could also try tracking the life bearer, but the boy has no reason to use that type of ability therefore leaving too small of traces to follow. Michael, aka the Beast Man, only uses abilities from his brain so he leaves no trace what so ever. No the time traveler, as much of a bother as it was, is now the easiest course of action.

"What a pain." He thought.

No matter, the job would get done. The job always gets done.
