4 Value and Importance

The three men came to meet their boss; it was time for work again. They stood in line and the grim look on their faces could not be hidden in front of Vasillis who was in his own world.

They glanced at the ticking clock, it was probably the fifth time they looked at the time. Half an hour had maybe passed since they stepped into the room, during those minutes they stood, none of the people inside dared to speak.

Vasillis was busy looking at each paper on his desk. Other papers have scattered across the floor, but Vasilis ignored it.

The three do not have the guts to complain nor ask Vasillis. They were only helpers and not anyone important for the man in front of them. They can easily be fired or replaced in the blink of an eye, they hold no value in the eyes of those with wealth.

Even if they want to quit searching for someone without hope to be found, they cannot let themselves be fired. Their jobs were important to them, it was difficult to move again and look for another job with a payment that would suffice for their needs.

They let out a sigh, careful not to let it be heard.

They jerked when Vasillis stood up abruptly, waking up their souls that were about to fall asleep. Vasillis said no words but his eyes were fixed to his desk, a map of Antares spread on it. His eyes traveled from Arcturus to Capella and to Geminga.

"Think, what places did your friend often go to?" he said in a low voice, speaking only to himself. "Important…"

His eyes widened when an idea struck him. "Important place!" he exclaimed. His men stared at him and Vasillis shot them a glance, "Prepare, we are going to Capella."

Vasillis took his coat and made his way out of his office, "I am sure that person knows about the valuable place for Alexandria."

Before the chaos,

The usual black and white surroundings for Alexandria had a slight color as she looked outside the carriage. No buildings could be seen yet, just plain fields of green, the land that her family owns.

She did not even get to stay with her twin for a bit, it has been quite a while since they saw each other because of the work that the Marquess passed to him. Alexandria already knew what her twin was about to do earlier, he would try to defend her again, but Alexandria did not want that because he never succeeded in doing so.

"It is better that I just obey than to involve him, or else even he might infuriate our father." Alexandria said.

Cross chuckled, "I doubt that, I have never once seen the master get angry at his son."

"I suppose so." Alexandria said blankly, unbothered by the favoritism of her father.

The butler who kept smiling narrowed his eyes on the lady, "Are you really going to attend the meeting that the master arranged?"

"It depends." Alexandria responded. She did not clarify what she meant but the butler just smiled as it was no use in asking if he was only going to receive such short replies. He will see what will happen later with his own eyes, he should remain patient.

They have reached Arcturus, where most business meetings were held. It was close to Geminga, just a bit more ride and they would be welcomed with the crowd buying different merchandise and drunk men drinking in the bar with laughter echoing enough to be heard by the people walking by.

Bastien Cross opened the cover in the carriage where they communicated with the coachman. "This is the place that Marquess Midford told me to bring you." the coachman stated.

Alexandria looked outside the window and even though she had never met Alistair Lockhart, she could tell that it was him who was sitting by the glass window. The grace he emits was enough to convince Alexandria that he was indeed a member of the Lockhart Family of Antares.

Alistair Lockhart was wearing a long, almost-black coat that turns an indigo blue when it's exposed to light. It has two buckled straps around his right sleeve over the wrist, and then another one around his bicep. He wore a darker indigo shirt underneath. She could not tell the rest as she could not see it from the carriage.

Alexandria saw him looking at the ladies passing by and caught him smiling. Alexandria put her elbow up the window of the carriage and rested her cheeks on her hand, "Alistair Lockhart, huh?"

Bastien Cross nodded, "For certain."

Alexandria did not want to attend, she sees no point in doing so. The person she was arranged to meet with did not seem like he was looking for the person he was supposed to meet, but looking for a lady to flirt with.

"Coachman," she called. Just as she called the coachman, Alistair Lockhart saw Alexandria and their eyes met. Alistair Lockhart gave her an amused smile but Alexandria just stared back at him, "Let us go to the tree..."

The coachman let out an inaudible sigh, he knew the place well. It was the place that Alexandria always goes to whenever she escapes meeting with the men that her father ordered her to meet.

The carriage moved and left the arranged place with Alistair's eyes still following it until it disappeared. A smile formed on his face, "Alexandria Midford…"
