5 The Parade

Friday came and went, it wasn't very important and nothing interesting happened. But today is Saturday! The day of the Pride festival!

Bella and I both get off today and tomorrow. This is amazing! I've been waiting for this festival for a while now.

Soon after I wake up, around 9:00, I get a text from Joey.

*Buzz*

"Alex, are you going to this festival?"

I tell her, "Yup! And I can't wait!"

Joey doesn't normally go to these things, she's not big on this stuff.

"Alright, just wondering, I was going to go, but I can't cause my parents are coming to visit."

"Yeah okay then Joe, bye"

I turn off my phone and see Bella begining to stir. I slink off to go shower and eat.

It's about noon when the festival begins. Bella and I are wearing shorts and shirts the match and say, "I want YOU to support us!!"

They're pretty awesome.

But back to the parade, it's great! I see El and Casten walking in it too, and several other people I know. Casten is another friend of mine.

Bella and I stop ever so often to wave and yell, and we are having the time of our lives.

There are the usual amount of people holding signs that say stuff like, "God hates Homos" or "Repent and live." The normal stuff, but there is this one group of people that stare directly at everyone who passes. They are wearing masks similar to those of superheros, but I could tell these were no heros. They wore black robes and black masks that only covered half their face. They were frightening to look at.

"Bella, do you see those people over there?" I lean closer to Bella and whisper.

"Yeah, but just keep moving. It's okay."

I glance to the side, still sceptical, but turn away.
