17 The Earth is Round

Akane never drove so fast in her life, she never had to run to do so. She found the man laying in the school infirmary with Ran sitting next to it.

"Hey, baby are you okay?" Akane pats kids head who just nods her head and yawns sleepily.

"Daddy is just tired." Ran says and lean back into the older's arms.

"Are you her mother?"

"Yes miss." Ran answered and Akane just hold back her reply, and how surprised she was She don't wanna know what made the kid respond like that.

"Let's get to car first, you're sleepy?" Akane pick the girl up in her arms and smiles at the teacher, bowing slightly as she walk pass the women by the door. She put Ran in the passenger seat and strap her in before going back to he infirmary.

It's a burnout, the doctor there said. Joon Ki fainted because of the stress he is under. When Akane said her thanks and get ready to head home, one of the male teacher offered help but Akane just thank them all again and pick the man up easily from the bed and walk out of the school. Akane wondered how much the man weighted, because she can easily carry him without breaking a sweat.

"Careful," Akane calls when Ran trips over while walking up the stairs at the porch.

"I'm just sleepy." Ran grumbles and pouts up at the women as she put in the passcode to open the main door of the house.

"I'll make something, come down to eat after washing up then you can sleep. Okay?" Akane said watching Ran runs up the stairs towards her room. Akane just shakes her head and lays the man in her arm on the contents looking couch in the sitting room. Then she was off towards the kitchen to make something for dinner.

"Eggs." Ran states at the egg drop soup, egg rolls and everything egg.

"Because I only saw eggs, breads and ramen." Akane says and watch the kid shrugs her shoulders.

"Better than Suran's cooking." Ran comments and starts eating the egg rolls first while Akane watch her with a small smile at the informal addressing of the women.

"I already put some away for your father so eat it up all." Ran nods her head and kept on eating like she had been starving. Maybe she was since she had been waiting for her to get them from school.

Knowing all, Akane feels bad a little. Joon Ki need someone he can lean on and he will never watch out to his friends because he hate looking vulnerable and weak. He takes care of others but was the type to hide when he was in need and do whatever he can instead. Ran, she needs someone to take care of her too. Suran had already filed in for the divorce, Akane knows, and the women want nothing to do with her daughter and husband. Suran wants a complete cut off, but she may want to take Ran in her custody for public image and Akane can't let that happen. She can't have Joon Ki only kid to be taken away from him.

"Aunty Kim!" Ran yelled and stares at the older.

"What? don't scream your father will wake up." Akane softly scolds Ran.

"I said why are you not asking me why I told you were my mom when my teacher asked back at the infirmary?"

Akane blinks at the kid blankly for a second, then she just giggles, "Why did you said that?" she asks the girl.

Ran just give her a look and rolls her eyes, "Because you act like one and you loves me and my daddy."

"You're really smart and observant for your age, I see." Akane was proud and pats Ran's head and Ran just smiles and continues on eating her soup. It has its downsides though and she wonder when did the kid realised that her own mother don't love her and her father.

When Ran finally went to bed early right after finishing her meal, Akane got up to clean the kitchen then she sat near the unconscious Joon Ki, on the chair next to the couch while she work on her laptop.

Joon Ki woke up groggily hours later to see he is back in his house sitting area with Eun Yoon sleeping next to him on the chair, legs pop up on the table and laptop open on her lap. Maybe it was a dream he thought, but when he tried to stand up and fell on his knees. Eun Yoon was there to hold his arm and get him up to the couch, saying how he needs to be careful with his weak body. Then it was quiet between them, Joon Ki himself wasn't in the state to make conversations and complaints as the women feed some soup to him before helping him to his bedroom, change his clothes into lose sweats and tugging him to bed. He didn't wanted the her to leave him just yet.

"Yoonnie stay.... please?" Joon Ki mumbled, eyes closed but his hands were reaching out, searching for the other as he let out frustrated sounds. Akane took his hand and Joon Ki finally sighs and relaxed into the bed. Akane was tired too, so she also got into bed and lays next to the men with only the blanket to separate them.

Joon Ki didn't wanted to since the women was sleeping next to him, on his bed while holding on to his hand firmly. He woke up to this, to Eun Yoon sleeping right next to him, face few metres away from him, looking angelic and so innocently cute with pouting lips and relaxed asleep expression. It is true that he tried but he couldn't ever forget about the teen who got him out of his shit when they were still teenager with shitty hair styles. Life is funny, it took what he cherish the most only to give it back to him and his world suddenly tilts from its place. Eun Yoon always did something unpredictable and her actions were timeless, she never tells anyone what she'll do next. Not even to him when they were younger. 'I like being unpredictable' Eun Yoon used to say.

"Hey, you're still the most pretty thing I've ever seen." Joon Ki comments as soon as he saw the other women open her eyes and stared back at him, "The world is indeed round. I'm so glad you came back."
