1 Twins.
The screaming of a woman in pain could be heard throughout the Partas Clan's territory.
"PUSH! I CAN SEE A HEAD, PUSH!" The midwife said as a woman with long blue hair pushed harder. The baby was pushed out and the room was full of celebration.
"NOW FOR THE SECOND ONE! PUSH!" The midwife yelled and the mother pushed once again.
"You've got this Minami! PUSH!" A man with blue hair said as he encouraged his wife.
"AAHHHHH!!!" Minami screamed as she pushed her hardest and the baby was born. The midwife had both children in her arms.
"Congratulations on having twin baby girls!" The midwife exclaimed.
"Let...me...hold...them." Minami said with her voice riddled with exhaustion. The midwife handed the woman her children and Minami smiled.
"You will be Esdeath and you will be Vedeath." Minami said as she pointed from the child in her right arm to the child in her left.
"Hey, I'm here too." Minami's husband said from behind.
"Look it's your father, the clan leader." Minami said as she handed her children over to their father.
"It's a pleasure to meet you two, I'm Ren but you will know me better as your Father." Ren said with a smile. Esdeath and Vedeath were calm from birth and didn't cry at all.
"They're incredibly calm, is something wrong with them?" Ren asked the midwife.
"No clan leader, they are fine. You were the same way when you were born." The old midwife said with a teasing smile.
"Tch, old lady." Ren said under his breath.

[5 years later]
The sounds of a chase echoed throughout the northern frontier. Two blue-haired girls chased a Springer through the tundra.
"Ve-chan! Let's speed up, if we don't get this Springer we'll have to practice sowing again!" A blue-haired young girl with a sharp dagger in her hand said to her sister who had a large sword on her back.
"Okay, Es-chan!" Vedeath said as she and Esdeath sped up to catch the Springer. Once they got ahead of the Springer, Esdeath threw her dagger hitting the Springer's Achilles with deadly accuracy. The Springer fell and Vedeath chopped its legs off with the giant two-handed sword she was using with one hand. Esdeath immediately began to gut the Springer with its blood still running hot and took out the gem located in its stomach.
"Okay! Now to skin and fillet it!" Esdeath said and Vedeath already started to skin the Springer alive.
"Ve-chan, I wanted to do it! It's probably going to die by the time you're done skinning it!" Esdeath pouted as she put the gem in a sack on her waist.
"I'm sorry Es-chan, but you did it first last time! You even got to fillet it while it was still alive! That's not fair!" Vedeath said and the sisters began to argue.
They argued for about 5 minutes before coming to a truce.
"The next one we hunt you can skin and I can gut okay?" Esdeath said as she held her hand out to make the deal final.
"Okay!" Vedeath said as she shook Esdeath's hand with a smile. Vedeath and Esdeath finished skinning and filleting the Springer before they put it in large sacks and ran home.
"We're home!" The twins said in unison as they walked into their house.
"Welcome home, how many Springers did you two hunt?" Ren asked.
"Around 10, we also hunted a Tundra Bird!" Vedeath said as she showed off and got a hug from a her father.
"I helped too!" Esdeath said as she crossed her arms and waited for her hug. Ren laughed and hugged both of his daughters.
"Remember what I always say." Ren said and as Vedeath and Esdeath began to recite.
"The strong survive and the weak die." Vedeath and Esdeath said together.
"That's right, the Springer and Tundra Bird you killed were weak." Ren said.
"What if you die? Does that mean you're weak?" Vedeath asked.
"Yes, if I were to die by any means that makes me weak. If you died I would call you weak as I did when your mother died. Only the strong have the right to survive, being weak is a sin." Ren said as Vedeath and Esdeath nodded their heads in understanding.
"Now, let's get to training, shall we?" Ren said as he walked to the back of the house. Vedeath and Esdeath followed.
"Alright, Ve I want you and Esdeath to spar okay?" Ren said as Vedeath unstrapped the giant blade from her back.
"Alright! Es-chan, you ready!?" Vedeath as she got into an offensive stance.
"Come at me Ve-chan!" Esdeath said as she unsheathed two daggers and held them in a reverse grip. Vedeath dashed forward and swung the giant blade. Esdeath rolled out of the way and shot forward at Vedeath's exposed back. Vedeath let the weight of the blade control her and she spun, meeting with Esdeath's daggers and blew Esdeath across the backyard.
"Es-chan, I don't think daggers fit you." Vedeath said as she charged forward once again. The sisters clashed blades and Esdeath was sent rolling again due to the weight of Vedeath's greatsword.
"Yeah, I think you're right!" Esdeath said as she threw one of her daggers and Vedeath deflected it. Esdeath took the opportunity to rush forward once again. Esdeath jumped up and kicked Vedeath's blade and Vedeath slid across the yard from Esdeath's pure physical strength.
"Tch!" Vedeath clicked her tongue as she ran forward and dodged another one of Esdeath's thrown daggers. Once she got in front of Esdeath, she swung at her legs but Esdeath jumped onto her blade and flipped off. Once Esdeath landed she immediately had to roll left due to the giant blade coming to bisect her. Vedeath swung so hard the blade got stuck in the ground so she left it and fought Esdeath with her hands.
Vedeath punched forward but was deflected by Esdeath's palm. Vedeath countered by pivoting on her right foot and elbowing Esdeath in the face. While Esdeath was stunned Vedeath performed a sweeping kick on Esdeath's legs taking her off her feet. Esdeath came to her senses and landed with a handstand while kicking Vedeath into a tree.
"Alright, I think that's enough for today. Esdeath, go see Old man Jack for a weapon you think you'd do good with." Ren said and that ended the spar.
"Alright, father! Ve-chan, next time I won't lose its 21-20!" Esdeath said as she ran to go see the blacksmith.
"Hais, children." Ren said with a deep sigh as he walked inside the house with Vedeath.
