3 Merriad Oarburgh.
The crackling of a fire was heard as two sisters sat and waited for their Danger Beast to be cooked.
"Es-chan, what are we going to do once we get to the capital?" Vedeath asked as she dug her teeth into a large leg of meat.
"I think we should join the military, it's the easiest way to get stronger." Esdeath said as she placed another skewer of meat over the fire.
"Yeah, but couldn't we join an assassin group or something? They could teach us some cool tricks." Vedeath said.
"Assasins are trained to stay silent, where would we find an assassin group willing to take us in?" Esdeath said.
"Then what branch of the military are we joining? There are only two." Vedeath said as she finished her leg of meat.
"Personally I would like the Army! I don't think the Navy suits us considering we know nothing about Naval combat." Esdeath suggested.
"Yeah I was thinking the same, I also wouldn't enjoy being in such a cramped space everyday." Vedeath said.
"Now, onto other topics. We should figure out the capabilities of our Teigu's." Vedeath said and Esdeath nodded in agreement. They both got up and walked into a less wooded area of the forest they were traveling through.
"Remember that connection we both said we felt?" Vedeath asked.
"Yeah?" Esdeath said.
"I think we should try to connect with that connection if you understand what I mean." Vedeath said and Esdeath nodded with understanding. The sisters closed their eyes and tried to feel for the connection they felt.
'Hello?' Vedeath said as her mindscape was an empty room.
'Ve-chan?' Esdeath was also in the empty room.
'It seems our Teigu's are connected which makes sense considering we got it from the same Danger Beast.' Vedeath said.
'So what are we doing here? Is this the connection we felt? An empty room?' Esdeath asked with frustration.
'I don't think our Teigu is just an empty room in our heads. Perhaps we have to discover it on our own?' Vedeath said.
'No, I don't think we do.' Esdeath said as she looked towards the center of the room.
'What're you-' Vedeath didn't finish her question and saw what Esdeath was looking at. What they saw was a giant blue orb that called out to them. They walked up to the orb and touched it and immediately gained knowledge on their Teigu. They were kicked out of their mindscape.
"Hyoketsu!" Vedeath said as she froze a tree completely. Esdeath looked at Vedeath with awe and tried it herself.
"Kori!" Esdeath said as she fired an icicle right through a tree and pierced the one behind it. The sisters looked at each other and smiled with battle intent.
"A quick spar won't hurt right Ve-chan?" Esdeath said as the battle intent literally oozed out of her body and she unsheathed her rapier.
"No! Not at all!" Vedeath said as she unstrapped the blade from her back. Esdeath stepped hard on the ground and created a large ice spike that shot towards Vedeath. Vedeath swung her blade upward which created an ice wall that blocked the ice spike. Esdeath shot forward and jumped over the wall and swung at Vedeath with an overhead swing. Their blades clashed and Vedeath kicked Esdeath away and placed her hand on the ground and froze the surrounding area in seconds. Vedeath created multiple ice spikes that shot towards Esdeath with incredible speed.
Esdeath sliced them all into pieces and shot hundred of icicles at Vedeath. Vedeath blocked and cut most of them but was still nicked on the cheek. Vedeath jumped away and stuck her blade into the ground.
"Devils Skewer!" Vedeath yelled as a giant pillar of ice that shot towards Esdeath with terrifying speed. Esdeath was shocked and was hit with the pillar.
"Es-chan!" Vedeath said as she ran for her sister. Esdeath was on one knee and had a slight bruise on her chest.
"I'm fine Ve-chan, that attack would've killed anyone else though!" Esdeath said with a laugh.
"Not funny! I should've restrained myself, I'm sorry Es-chan." Vedeath said as she hugged her sister.
"I said it was fine Ve-chan, I know you didn't have any intent to seriously injure me." Esdeath said as she hugged her sister back.
"Now let's get going before it gets dark." Esdeath said as Vedeath nodded and they started to travel once again.

[2 weeks later.]
Two blue-haired girls walked into the Empire's gates and their eyes widened in awe.
"It's huge! Is this really a city?!" Vedeath said as she pointed to the castle.
"I know right!" Esdeath said with glee.
"Now where do we sign up to be in the army?" Vedeath said as she looked around for any guides.
"We can worry about that later, what we need is money." Esdeath said as she picked up a flyer off the ground.
"Grand Martial Tournament?" Esdeath read off the flyer and showed it to Vedeath.
"So we fight for money?" Vedeath asked with battle intent starting to ooze from her body.
"It seems like we do, and it looks like there are some strong opponents!" Esdeath said with a devious smile.
"Alright! Now, where do we go?" Vedeath asked and followed Esdeath. They arrived at a large arena and could hear the cheering from outside. The line was long and they groaned about the wait.
"We're gonna be here forever!" Vedeath complained as she stood in line with her sister.
"It'll be fast, look the line is already moving." Esdeath said as they moved in the line by a little. They waited in line for 2 hours before reaching the front.
"Sign your name, fighting style, and weapons." The receptionist said flatly. Esdeath and Vedeath signed the paper and the receptionist gave them two numbers.
"Looks like you're before me number 45." Esdeath said as she placed the number in her pouch.
"Yeah, yeah. Make sure you get to the finals so we can fight!" Vedeath said as they walked to the waiting area.
"Do you really think I'd lose to these weaklings?" Esdeath said towards the crowd of fighters.
"Hey, maybe one can beat you. I highly doubt it though." Vedeath said with a giggle.
"Number 45, please make your way to the center." A man who came into the waiting area with a list said.
"Looks like I'm leaving, I'll be back in 2 minutes." Vedeath said as she walked away.
"Two minutes? Why not 30 seconds?" Esdeath asked but then figured out the answer.
"Fun." They said simultaneously. Vedeath got towards the center and took off her winter coat, revealing porcelain white skin, and a lean but muscular body. Vedeath's short blue hair differentiated her from her sister, along with her more petite build and taller body. Vedeath had a black sleeveless shirt, black pants, and white boots. Along with the giant sword on her back, it made her look quite intimidating.
Her opponent walked out from the other opening and was revealed to be a young girl around the same age. She had black hair and purple eyes with a beauty mark under her left eye. She also seemed to be quite well trained as shown by her lean build.
"You look strong." Vedeath said as she unstrapped her blade and stuck it deep into the ground.
"Beautiful and strong, I'm Merriad Oarburgh." Merriad said as she got into an offensive stance.
"Vedeath." Vedeath said as she also got into a stance.
"BEGIN!" The announcer said as the two young girls shot forward and met fist to fist. The clash caused the wind to blow and the ground under them to spiderweb. Vedeath pivoted on her left foot and tried to elbow Merriad. Merriad caught her elbow and threw Vedeath who flipped in midair and landed on her feet. Vedeath immediately dodged left and Merriad's punch missed Vedeath. Vedeath used this opportunity to punch Merriad in the stomach and Merriad was flung across the stadium.
"Kaah...Kaah." Merriad coughed out a minor amount of blood and smiled.
"You're a lot stronger than you look." Merriad said as she shot forward and fired a series of punches at Vedeath who caught all of them with ease.
"Two minutes is up. Time to end this." Vedeath said as she became serious and vanished from Merriad's sight.
"Wha-" Before Merriad could finish she was chopped in the neck by Vedeath. Merriad fell to the ground and Vedeath collected her things and made her way back to the waiting area.
"Did you have fun?" Esdeath asked.
"Of course I did Es-chan, I regret ending it so early I should've prolonged the fight!" Vedeath said as she almost ran back to the center but Esdeath caught her by her collar.
"No, no. It's my turn to have fun now." Esdeath said as she walked towards the center. She also removed her winter coat which revealed a lean body and porcelain white skin. In contrast to Vedeath's short hair, Esdeath's hair was long and reached the middle of her back. Esdeath was dressed in the same manner as her sister only she had a belt with her clan's crest on her waist.
Her opponent was a black-haired man with blue eyes and a muscular body.
"Prepare to lose." The man said and the announcer began the fight. Esdeath vanished from the man's sight and reappeared right in front of him. Esdeath punched him in the gut hard enough for him to spit up incredible amounts of blood. The man was angered and charged forward, Esdeath jumped, grabbed his head, and slammed it into the ground.
"Do you concede?" Esdeath asked as the man began to get up.
"I won't lose to a little girl!!" The man charged at Esdeath blindly.
"Fine." Esdeath said as her hands began to glow white.
"Hyoketsu." Esdeath said as she froze the air and fired an icicle that went right through the man's leg.
"AAAAAHHHHHHH!!" The man fell to the ground and held his injury.
"Do you concede?" Esdeath asked.
"Y-" Esdeath froze the man's mouth and smiled sadistically.
"I guess not." Esdeath said as she pierced the man's limbs with icicles. The man screamed until he passed out and Esdeath got bored.
"He's passed out do I win?" Esdeath asked the announcer as she pointed at the man's unconscious body. The announcer nodded and Esdeath walked back to the waiting area. She looked at Vedeath who looked at her and smiled.
"I forgot about our Teigu, teehee." Vedeath said and Esdeath facepalmed at her sister's actions.
"This tournament is going to be a breeze, then we can finally join the army!" Esdeath said as she played with ice.
"Yeah! Then we can get stronger and no one will bother us!" Vedeath said as she cleaned her blade.
