3 God sometimes makes mistake too, are they really god?

"Huh, is it over? I thought at least I could die out of old age before having to agree to the terms, you people are too ambiguous when the contract is supposed to be fulfilled."

I told the familiar woman who didn't even bother to look up to me as she continued to be buried under her favorite meal made of paper.

"It's not. I just have time and it seems you're currently not preoccupied for a good while."

Is that it? I don't believe God's whims would be so whimsical.

"You don't believe me at all don't you."

"Of course. If the contract hasn't ended yet then why am I here?"

"Ah it's the problem addressed to your… err benefit."

She said unconvincingly, though her eyes were still glued to the paperwork. I opted not to answer, perhaps letting her finish for a while would keep us on track. After a few minutes scribbling, clock ticking in the silent office room, she finally laid down the pen.

She grabbed the drawer under the desk, and as always there's a Pocky to accompany her to talk.

"Well you see, we gave you a package in the form of dimensional storage and Administrator Welfare Apparatus, we usually simply call it the Apparatus or AWA if you want the technical term. It should boot up automatically once you're born and run you through a few tutorials. The problem is we realized that the apparatus is not fully working when you use it last time."

"The dimensional storage is working fine, albeit limited in capacity if that's the problem. And apparatus? Is it the HUD interface thing that popped up in my vision once I was born?" I tilted my head, I thought being born in a conglomerate household was already a boon enough.

"That's right. The dimensional storage is working just fine. But the Apparatus had some problem, we didn't notice this at all, and for that we extend a sincere apology."

"What's the problem with it? And why do you just realize this time?"

"Because a certain person didn't file a complaint, and the problem is that the Apparatus should give you what is practically power leveling, questing system, and also rewards and benefits on our store network from the beginning."

I deadpanned at this, and I feel the administrator is just joking at me. I snarked in response, well if in a good way.

"I'm sorry that I was being considerate and don't know enough how this package should act in the first place, I'm truly sorry Eiki-sama."

"Yes, I'll forgive you my dear mortal. Now to explain since the tutorial won't work in the first place. You know how video games or those RPG works right?" I nodded, reminding myself back when I was playing dungeon and dragon with my father and his colleagues. "To put it briefly, you'll benefit the same as those characters, ranging broadly from strength, charisma, intelligence, luck, and any other major attributes often associated with such games. Now to put this into action, think of an interface popping up in your mind. We put this in consideration because it's very convenient to give the trainee a gradual learning curve."

I tried to do it as per her instructions. Indeed, on top of seeing my health counter, I can see a menu popped up from nowhere in my peripheral. There's a degree of choice but everything is blacked out except status.

"Everyone can't see what you see, but I've been given privileges to see yours this time. Now click it… You don't have to click it with your finger dunderhead, just think of it like you did earlier."

Huh, this is kind of a novel idea. Maybe I should invest in virtual realities technology, experiencing it personally rather than through a layer of LCD is very breathtaking. Food for thought.

I sort of "clicked" it.

Then it listed my attributes, mostly in the form of numeric values. Others are basic things like my name, blood, affiliation, age, etc.

Akagi Shinomiya | Class: None

Lv. 13 | Free Pts. 65

STR: 10|END: 08|INT: 21|LCK: 15 |CHA: 18

"Notice the free points? You gained 5 of those for every level you gained, and as a token of apology we grant you 35 to balance it out to 100, get it?"

Why can't she balance it at 200 or hell 1000 instead? It's probably her whim but I can't really voice a complaint, honestly, I was fine before even with this Apparatus thing, but maybe it's necessary so I will take what I can get. No need to raise a fuss over simple matters that can be resolved peacefully.

But am I horribly squishy? I wanted to put it on END but I figured it out I can raise it voluntarily through training and study.

I added the remainder of the points as she instructed.

Lv. 13 | Free Pts. 0

STR: 13|END: 08|INT: 41|LCK: 60|CHA: 50

Huh, am I retarded for allocating this many points? Obviously not if by going to INT, I doubt it has anything to do with actual intelligence… I don't even know the average benchmark of people's stats.

"What are the average stats for adults in their prime age?"

"It depends. They have at least 30 stats on average, but usually have over 40 to 60 if they have specialization. LCK is difficult to raise unless someone had life changing event." Good to know.

"Huh so putting it above 40 would makes me equivalent of an expert? Generally, at least."

"Roughly yes, but you need to take in consideration of applicable and theoretical knowledge and also field experience so the numbers don't really compute that well if you take knowledge, experience, or martial prowess into question. But at least INT would increase your brain capability and also your soul's capacity in holding magical energy." Eiki said, I realized she's holding a mug of coffee all this time, I don't even notice it. Shocking.

"I understand so far, I feel I'm so out of touch to not understand some of these things. To be honest, the last time I played a game was when I was just a college freshman."

"Fumu, a good thing to know. The next one will be skills and classes. Usually we have traits and titles, but we jumbled them into the skill category together since they're the same thing either way. And the classes, it will give you an edge in certain fields and stats, usually come in a huge bonus if you max it, and only at this time you can change it." She sipped her coffee, I'm not really a coffee fan, preferring myself a good cup of herb tea instead. Oolong and a variety of Japanese teas are also good, going by the fact Shinomiya owned several tea plantations.

She continued, "Usually you need to earn skills on your way or purchase it through the store, experimenting with the Apparatus is not only fine but also encouraged. Well as an apology we will give you three choices from these selected skills and also please choose a class."

A wall of text and images suddenly flooded my vision, really this is too much for the choice. I mean egg-birthing? Porn-physics? I keep scrolling, and what in the bloody hell, Tentacles suit that impregnates you? I don't really think this is aimed at men much less to me…

Gradually I lost faith not in humanity, but also those who administer them from above. Stay positive, you don't know how it feels and boring must be to live eons and with nothing much else to do other than munching papers.

I mentally blocked these skills, and chose what I think would be beneficial for me in the long run. Most selections were rather weird, or outright useless but also enticing in terms of improving quality of life. Skills that keep you clean, lessen your hunger, attractive body traits, second heart, and similar things.

"While some of it was weird, everything was balanced properly. There's no loophole or anything?" I asked the Goddess.

"No. Granting super skills or top of the line stuff is easy and all that's why we don't care about the skills of our applicants, but everyone has to start from the bottom somewhere."

Huh. I had no comment from her statement instead shifting my focus to the interface once more. That's fair enough to be honest.

Skills:

[Danger Sense] — Super-enhanced senses. You will never be caught flat-footed; sleep or not, when someone directs malice intention near you. Your ears always perk up and eyes scan for hidden danger, and keeping your senses so sharp has given you the ability to see in the near pitch black darkness or a fly as far as 2km away and your hearing is equally as sharp, allowing you to choose to hear a whisper in the corner of an active concert stage. You suffer no negative consequences for these enhanced senses.

[Noble Frame] — A restful night will restore your body to its optimum capacity, including lost stamina, mana, and health and restore it to its full state. You won't feel any fatigue. Doesn't include hunger or any other biological penalty, however common illness will disappear overnight. You can't be dismembered but limb and organ can still be crippled, and only when your HP has reached 0 truly can you finally succumb.

[Magic Core] — An endless wellspring of mana. The output may start small but it has infinite potential growth. The core also serves as the vessel of your soul. Your body may be destroyed, but as long as the core is intact you can still restore it whether through slow but natural regeneration, science or magical means. Obtain 2x correction bonus for INT stat growth, and whenever you allocate one point to it, you gain two values for each point. Obtain a 5 percent bonus in total mana capacity.

Well danger sense will help me out, seeing that I'm still one of the most eligible bachelors in japan for blackmailing and kidnapping material. It may give me an edge at the negotiating table outside do-or-die situations.

Noble frame is an obvious choice seeing if I can practically be healthy again after a restful night, and the rest is complimentary.

The last one, to be honest, I'm rather hesitant in choosing this. Sure, the correction bonus is pretty huge, but I don't know what to do with magic, and also if my body got destroyed doesn't mean that I'm at complete mercy of the enemy? Maybe the store network Eiki mentioned has some, if not a dummy guide to magic? Though magic sounds nice and the fact it's just a myth in my old world. Anyway, I chose this because of the INT growth, if I wanted one thing that is more brain comprehension capability.

Now to the last section. I oversee a few branches, even traditional roles such as Knight and Ranger, to much broader modern terms, such as Medic and Engineer, even to subclasses of soldiers like fighter pilot and sharpshooter to naval commanders. However, most of those were locked under a few conditions.

Though my eyes glued to one entry, it focused on the more practical purpose of mysteries. Sure, I can choose being Engineer or Sharpshooter or whatever later on but you can do that too with enough practice and knowledge.

But what about magic? Frankly it disturbs me that the new world I lived in has these things roaming inside it. What? If I can use it then it's safe to say everyone can too, it's just logical process of thought, much less since the world is created by whacky goddess in her sleep inspired by some obscure piece of media.

Class: Thaumaturgy Entrée – An aspiring magus class, you will learn assortment of skills under the class before branching to a more specialized field. Gain 2x correction when practicing new magical skills. Obtain a novice book of thaumaturgy theorem.

"So, you've chosen. It is normal to be curious, there is no mistake, only happy accidents." Eiki said she had put down the mug in favor of the pen as she started to work once again when I was busy choosing

"The next one would be the Store Network and questing system. The store network is basically we administrator used in our day to day lives when it comes to shopping, it covers everything from basic amenities to even a star destroyer missile. No item that can endanger us, Administrator, though, you need advanced clearance for those."

The fact that she said something could harm these beings is alarming enough. What more did they hide from me? I stopped these musings, fearing I could miss something from her explanation.

"There's also lottery they regularly hold. Here I give you 10 tickets and 10.000 Tokens to splurge on, don't waste it in one place."

A notification popped up on my peripherals, I received the store token and tickets. "I think I'll refrain from opening it."

"Wise," she miffed, somewhat impressed. "I should start to not buy something on impulse. The damn cat always got me in the balls."

"Cat? You buy things on impulse?"

"That and this is a different matter." She dodged, "Now to the questing system. It's basically a quest we usually post to every available or free administrator, as an incentive we give them bonus tokens. Another administrator can also submit their requests. You're not obliged to follow it but sometimes it could change your life. The fact that you're a trainee, Quest also serves as a focal point and as a guide throughout your journey."

"That sounds convenient." I mulled.

"Indeed, it is. Be sure to check the quest board in your menu once and then, also sometimes we will send emergency requests so be wary of sudden pop-ups, while you are not obliged to follow it, sometimes the emergency quest is aligned to your current goal so it will benefit you the most if you decide to take it."

"I think I got it all. If there's nothing left can I go back now?"

She sported a sly smile, "Eager, aren't you?"

"As eager as man can be when they receive their cute maid!"

"Fumu, she will be quite a looker indeed once she grows up. Check your mail once you're down there, I may have a gift for her." Huh?

"Are you spying on us all this time?"

"Fool, of course we are. Just realized this, where do those INT stats go?"

"Bloody hell." Does that mean I can't wank in peace? Fuck my arse back way. The more you know…

"Now begone! I still have a mountain worth of paper left."

"W-!"

I wanted to finally shout in protest of my supposed privacy, but everything went dark after. Bloody hell mate. Knowledge is sometimes a curse. I hope this won't disturb my sleep.
