43 Chapter 42: Kusanagi-no-Tachi
(Mael's POV)
"Mael, wait!"
I was called from behind and saw Gabriel following me.
"What is wrong with you?! I told you many times, we can't just simply sit and watch them attack us!" I yelled as I flew towards escaping devils.
I didn't want to be rude but I can't simply sit and give devils time to formulate a plan to kill more angels.
Although angels stated targeting enemy camps, they only initiated after confirming a major threat, for example, if there are 5 or more Ultimate Level devils present at the camps.
Even though I used to work independently along with Metatron and sometimes also destroy devil cities, this time, however, I was caught by Gabriel tailing retreating devils which could lead me to their main camps.
"Mael, can you stop for a second?!"
I sighed and halted my wings to listen since she looked pissed.
She also stopped near me and smacked my head lightly.
"Mael, can't you feel that someone is keeping an eye on you?" She was not angry but annoyed since I was not used to listening to anyone.
Her warning reminded me that there was indeed someone keeping an eye on me. Underworld isn't very fertile land but I could see bugs following wherever I go.
For safety measures, I haven't let anyone escape alive but I was not a field magic expert.
"Lady Gabriel, I am well aware of the situation so you don't have to worry. I know what I am doing." I shrugged off her warning since God had given all seraphs a device that can teleport us to the nearest angel camps.
"Mael, you don't get it. This time you are not dealing with any ordinary enemy."
She just has to say when our surroundings turned alarmingly silent.
"Mael, behind me!!" Gabriel yelled loudly and immediately cast a strong light shield. I didn't know what was happing and as soon as I moved behind her, strong crimson energy struck us.
Boom*
"Guah!!"
Gabriel coughed some blood but the shield she materialized was successfully to defend the blow.
We were lucky since the beam was so strong that it erased everything behind us except us. A 'V' shaped pit replaced whatever was behind us.
I was perplexed about what just happened.
I caught Gabriel who became a little weaker after making such a strong shield and was successfully able to defend both of us.
I gritted my teeth and looked above.
Four individuals were levitating above us.
"Well, well, well~, looks like-"
Okay, skipping their obvious cliché lines, I immediately found out their identity.
A teen with short dark hair, Asmodeus.
A tall-built Kisame and long hair, Leviathan.
Demiurge from Overlord, Beelzebub.
And finally, the arch-nemesis that I want to kill more than anyone else in this world, Lucifer Morningstar.
Seeing four super devils, I gritted my teeth and cursed my ignorance since this time, I was really screwed.

(3rd Person's POV)
"And so curse your luck or should I say be glad since we, the great devil kings, have come ourselves to defeat you! Hahaha, Oh dear~, I wonder how would God react after finding out his dear seraphs death~?"
Lucifer was amused after cornering one of Four Great Seraphs and the new humanoid angel.
Thanks to Von Lucifuge for making strong Imaginary Land, four demon kings were able to trap Gabriel and Mael inside an inescapable field.
"Ah King Lucifer, I think they are not listening anymore…"
Beelzebub called the chief demon and turned his attention towards Mael and Gabriel.
"Gabriel, are you all right?!" Mael gritted his teeth and asked other seraphim while applying his healing.
He knew that even Michael had to pour making the output of his might to block that kind of block.
"I-I am fine." Gabriel smiled and stood up. "Mael, don't make that face. It is not your fault."
She didn't want to blame his nephew since it was an unexpected turn of events.
Mael didn't say anything since Gabriel was just aware of his heart. Judging his past, he will surely blame himself for endangering Gabriel and himself.
He should have trained more! He should have learned more about Demon Kings! He should be more prepared!
But it was pointless now that the day of fate to face demon kings had come before he had expected.
It was time to face them and kill them.
It is now or never.
"Getaway!"
Mael pushed Gabriel away and blocked a sentient, scale-covered blunt-like sword with his Excalibur. The force of the impact was so strong that impaled his feet in the ground.
"Haha, kid! I can't believe that the woman I want to fu*k so much has lost to a prick like you! Name's Leviathan by the way!" Said a shark-faced man crushing Mael with his large sword.
"For the love of God, is there not a single one of you filthy devils who doesn't have a dick for a brain?! And she was damn someone else's wife, you sicko!!" Mael gritted his teeth and the Author for making such plagiarizing Naruto character. The dude was using the same Samehada, Kisame used in Naruto!
However, Mael didn't have time as the demon king was overwhelming him more he think about the strategy.
"Hahaha! That's the neat part boy, someone else's wife is best!!" Leviathan smirked and kicked Mael who was shot like a bullet but didn't get any serious injury.
"Mael!" Gabriel called the name of her nephew and wanted to go for help but her path was blocked by two other demon kings.
"Hey, hey, beautiful lady, how about you make time to warm our bed." Asmodeus came forward. He was wielding a blade attached to a bug like Hercules beetle while a giant centipede on the other hand.
"I don't quite follow you, Asmodeus. It would be beneficial to kill her so that I could perform some experiments on her and make some more armaments for devils." Beelzebub, whose face was that of a frog. He has raised his claws like nails to play with seraph with minimal damage.
Gabriel snorted and took out a beautiful spear. She enchanted her whole body with holy light and then the fight between seraph and two demon kings begin.
Mael shook his head and stood while shaking off debris while healing his injuries.
From the corner of his eye, he could also see Gabriel fighting fiercely with the other two demon kings while Lucifer, the chief demon king was watching them fight with amusement.
He soon saw Kisame a.k.a Leviathan walking towards him.
Old demon habit of being ignorant and arrogant. Although the odds of winning were nowhere near in favor of Mael and Gabriel, Mael knew that Demon Kings weren't fighting seriously for now.
"Since your Excalibur is tough to tackle. I will have to fight with another blade."
As Leviathan walked towards Mael, a beautiful green blade replaced his old blunt scale sword.
"Made with the tail of a legendary creature, I call it Legendary Leviathan sword."
Mael ignored the fake stupid name that Leviathan just called.
'Hold on, I seemed to have seen this sword…!'
Mael realized the name of the sword when Leviathan begin to pour demonic energy into the sword unleashing the reality shaking aura and force so strong that Mael had to use Ark around his body to protect the poisonous effects of the sword.
'This piece of trash! This sword can't be his! This word is made from the tail of legendary creature Yamata-no-Orochi, a divine construct that can even kill gods called Kusanagi-no-Tachi or better known as reality cutting sword, Tsumukari-no-Tachi!'
Only one question was spinning in his mind, why the hell a Japanese treasure was doing in the hands of a demon king?!
