10 Chapter 1, Sanctuary part 1/8

David entered Sanctuary, it was protected by a massive translucent dome shield covering the entire city completely. On the outskirts of the City, laid empty fields of land filled with snow and rocks, with only but an outpost, which was the source of the shield. The young Sith Lord, was walking along a road connecting the Outer Gates to the Inner Gates. The design of Sanctuary was rather simple really, in the center was the City surrounded by massive set of walls with then hundreds or so, acres of land with the source of the shield and then other set of massive walls protecting the Outer Gate which was connected to Sanctuary's Entrance with a massive bridge.

After following the road for some time, David made a right turn and headed to the outpost, to give the guard a new power core. The outpost was rather small with a beige color to the building, next to the outpost was a surprisingly small generator with spinning turbines and computer screens with a light beaming from it's center, the light was beaming straight up and was expanding when reaching the shield.

Marching up the stairs of the outpost, David could hear someone gulping down their saliva before saying. "You're the one Commander Roland was talkin' about. The one who faced Jack and LIVED! Look, we need your help, bad, but first thing's first -- plug that power core into the shield generator."

David, nodded and walked towards the generator and replaced the small cylindrical core from the turbines and put in the new core he got from Reiss. After making a few buzzing noises and temporary stopping the shield, the new power core started spinning rapidly, creating a new light beaming up and projected once again, a dome like shield.

Moments after inserting power core into shield system, the guard standing walked close behind David. "Good. That oughtta last us a day or two. Roland was supposed to bring us some intel on how to stop Jack -- with him missing, we really need your help. Talk to Private Jessup at the gate, he'll let you into the city." said the guard with a fearful expression after looking into Davids fiery orange eyes.

"Good, I've been starving since this morning." Replied a hungry David.

"JESSE'UP! Stand up straight, we got a Vault Hunter headed your way!" Shouted the Guard into his comm link.

Walking down the outposts stairs and making his way to the Inner Gate of Sanctuary, David admired the view with a nice long walk along the road. The silence was unsettling to say the least, but it didn't bother him much. Arriving finally in front of a huge Gate, David was looking at a half awake guard looking back at him with stars in his eyes.

"Let me get the gate for you. Commander Roland never came back from his secret reconnaissance mission. He left very specific orders for this contingency which you can help carry out. Go meet with the town mechanic." Said Jesse, now standing up straight.

While Jesse was opening the Gate the guard from the outposted broadcasted from his Echo device "Blitz! Look alive, everybody! Hyperion moonshot blitz. Without that fresh core you brought, those lunar mortars woulda punched right through the shield."

From where he stood, David could see the moonshots coming down from Helios slamming onto the shield, creating supersonic air bursts rupturing the air itself. Glade, he replaced the power core on time, David passed the Inner Gate and walked into the City.

"Sanctuary. Built on the ruins of the Dahl corporation's finest interplanetary mining ship, now the last refuge for thieves, murderers and outcasts. Welcome home." Said Angel reappearing.

"Huh, so you just gonna like that never happened?" asked curiously David.

"Sorry--That was just so sudden-- So you really don't want to save the planet?" replied a nervous Angel.

"I'm kidding, of course I'll go against Jack, it was just you acted like I was a toddler, but it's cool now, it's not like you will betray me." half sarcastically responded David.

"Alright then-- Go and find Roland, you will need his help to defeat Jack." Happily exclaimed Angel before leaving the call, not getting the underline sarcastic comment.

David, ecstatic to finally see the immense City, walked up the stairs leading to the inner area, with roads big enough for vehicles to use.

(Hours later)

After spending his entire day running around the City, learning the pathways leading point a to point b, David found a resting place close to Zed's office offering dinner and a room for the night. Promptly eating dinner and having a long nap, David existed the resting place for the thing he really wanted to see. Moxxi's bar.
