AN UNPRECEDENTED MEETING WITH THE DEVIL

"You have managed to hide for a long time. Being able to avoid my detention for 3 years, you have done well. I just hope your growth doesn't let me down." Lily Williams said with a bland tone. Her emotions couldn't be discerned from her voice.

"It was your fault that the boy ran away from his house. You shouldn't have treated a child like that. He could have grown into a good man like his father if you could have just controlled your mentality." Another voice resounded in the room.

The woman turned around to see a man sitting on the nearby couch. It was surprising to see that Lee Junshok didn't manage to locate him when he entered the earlier. It said a lot about the abilities this man possessed.

"I don't need your opinion in the ways to teach one's child. I can manage to do it on my own." Lily Williams said after sitting down in her chair.

"You have been repelling any help from your friends since the day Frank went missing. You have distanced us, and I can understand your instability because of the loss of a dear one. But it doesn't justify the torture you inflicted on your son." Another voice sounded.

"Are you here to nag me?" Lily Williams spoke up.

"I am just asking for an explanation for your actions. What you did to that kid was unfair and cruel." A woman appeared in the room.

"The world is not made out of kindness. I hope you of all people are capable of understanding that our world has long since given up on kindness and conscience. If it still exists then Frank wouldn't have died."

"He isn't dead, he is just missing." The man spoke up.

"Are you trying to assure me, or yourself? Hiding from the fact that you sent him to die isn't going to change the situation, neither is it going to make you less guilty." Both the man and the woman looked dispirited by Lily's words, yet they couldn't come up with a reply.

"Also I don't need the advice of a coward as to how to train my children. That brat was a coward who ran away because he couldn't bear the training. He is nothing but worthless scum in my eyes. I feel ashamed to even call him my son." Lily's voice was filled with disgust.

"You haven't even understood the character of your own son. He ran away because he didn't want his sister to undergo the same torture that you were inflicting on him. He understood your intentions with her and he wanted to protect her. he is the perfect depiction of Frank, which I know of."

"Sadly his own mother doesn't recognize his qualities." The man nodded his head in disappointment.

"You don't need to teach me parenting." Lily's body began to emit bloodlust that soon enveloped the room. The woman was [resent tried to interfere, but the man's eyes suddenly changed as another aura came into life and directly suppressed Lily's aura.

"I don't care what insanity is building up in your mind, but If you dare to harm that boy, I will make you pay."

"David.." the woman tried to interfere, but the man raised his hand. His aura kept growing and soon enough Lily's aura couldn't even act freely. She even had a change in expression.

"Even at his peak, your husband wasn't a match for me in strength. He left me with the duty to look after his children. I will do my duty and anyone who comes in my way will die." The man then exited the room without further speech.

"You are a dear friend of ours, Lily. I hope you never forget that." The woman too exited from the room.

Lily Williams took a deep breath and calmed her mood. She didn't expect the man called David to be this strong.

"No need to show my actual strength yet. I hope you are prepared, boy. You better show me great results, or you are just worthless to my cause."

..........

Leon continued his training and work and his body was growing every single day. Although the growth wasn't as fast as when he was tortured by his mother, he was still improving his skills. He had to get the job of a hunter. Only then could he keep his sister safe and sound. he didn't want her to go through the hardship he went through.

"You should rest your body a bit." A young voice sounded from behind. It was a brunette guy who was the same age as Leon. It was none other than the eldest of the three siblings Leon and his sister met when they first came into the camp[.

"I can't stop here." Leon continued to exercise and train his body. The young man was named Liam Chung. He and his siblings May and Brook were close friends of Leon and his sister. He too was preparing for the awakening ceremony.

" I want to become a hunter just as hard as you. I too have two siblings to take care of. You need to calm your mind and rest your body. Overworking will hurt you.

Leon dropped down on the ground and panted for breath. he took a sip of the water which lay beside him as he looked at the sky.

'Do you think we will be able to awaken a powerful rank?" Leon asked.

"I don't know what fate has inbox for us, but I assure you that I will be there with you till the end. The rank of awakening doesn't matter. The camaraderie of men never falls, no matter the situation." Liam said with a smiling face.

Leon looked at him and his mood grew light. The two were the best of friends and they both have similar objectives in mind. The two of them went home and rested for the next day.

Leon ate his dinner and laid on his bed.

"Tomorrow is the day"

"It is tomorrow all right. I too am looking forward to your performance." A voice sounded in Leon's ears. He was alerted by the infiltrator and jumped from the bed to look who it was. When he got a good look at the perpetrator's face, his expression took a turn for the worse.

"Lily Williams," Leon said out loud.

"Is this how one greets their mother?" Lily spoke in a calm voice.
