11 Chapter- 11

Neil:

September 18.

Quite big day. I had been waiting for long. We had a cricket match against another school team. Though it is normal as being in a cricket team but I was quite excited because the rival team was pretty strong, kinda same level of ours. And of course for the recognition & prize money.

I am the captain of our school cricket team. I am popular, have lots of acquittances,facilities,friends,good reputation. Everyone pretty much knows me. That never mattered though. I wasn’t dying for popularity. Never. I just tried to maintain a good image. I have it.

Before the match,we were warming up,Jessica, the real hot girl of the school,came to say good luck to me. Literally everyone was staring,as lots of them are into Jessica. She is pretty,rich,smart. No way to avoid her. Nobody won't do for sure.

I felt so much tension in the crowd. Everyone believed there is something going on between us. I heard lots of rumors about Jessica & me being together, doing things. Bla bla bla. I didn’t pay much attention.

Jessica always behaved like She's my girlfriend, I know she likes me. Also that gives her some more attention. I felt no problem in here too. So I didn’t deny.

The worst part was that she kissed me before everyone without telling me. The awkwardness got more awkward. Though it was sudden,I got a little uncomfortable.

I could tell Jessica got it. She quickly managed the situation, "Baby,You are gonna get the trophy for sure, My love is always for you, I love you " She pouted.

"What a drama queen" Mia shouted.

Mia is another famous girl. Both are rivals. Mia has a boyfriend,Jasper. Jasper is in our team. A good batsman.

Jessica ignored her completely, She came close to me,touched my neck & smiled.

It got more cheesy, people were shouting.

Many of them were wowing, cheering so that we could kiss again, Jessica got more courage. She didn’t stop it,yet coming for it.

I saw Heili was in the crowd. She was surprised, her faced looked sad. What was that?Was she uncomfortable too?

When our eyes met,She looked down,and waited some moments & left.

"Jessica, wait!" I stopped her.

"Baby,not a good time,come on" Jessica whispered.

I pushed her, it was bit insulting but I had no choice.

"What man?" "Go for it" " Jessica, what now?" " what's happening man?" "Wow what a scene" "laughs " -- the crowd reaction.

"Did you just ignore me Neil? What was that?" Jessica rolled her eyes.

I didn’t feel any necessity to answer her.

I ran after Heili,I didn't know why. It wasn’t necessary at all. I just went after her.

"Heili! Wait"

She didn’t wait but walked faster. She kept walking. I was after her still.

"Heili,stop", A boy held her hand suddenly.

I stopped right there. I tried to remember the face. After searching through my head. I found it. 'Mike'.

Heili stopped. "I have a class,i- i am getting late,so " She replied to Mike.

"Oh,,I see. Okay then,see you around" Mike smiled.

I knew Mike,no doubt. We are knowns but we didn’t chat much as we have different classes,interests,ways. We were completely different.

He is the president of Music Club. He is a good singer plus he has earned a good reputation to our school through competitions, though he is really troublemaker,extremely social,joyous what not. Lot of girls fall for him. None of my business anyway.

"Hey,buddy. Long time no see" Mike waved.

"Hey" I replied only this. I couldn’t stand his presence just. Already mood spoiled.

"Today's your match right,why here then?" Mike chuckled.

"Yeah man,gonna go now. Bye" I just left.

He said something afterwards, I didn’t pay attention.

Back to the feild.

Match started.

We won the toss & decided to bat.

Me & Jasper started.

The starting wasn’t going well. I placed Jasper all the time,I was feeling distracted for the whole time. Couldn't play at all. I was out after collecting only 66 runs. Which was trauma for the match. Everyone got disappointed about that. I could realise the situation. I just went out,didn’t even sit further.

The form got bad,wickets after wickets.

Of course we lost the match. What a bad day! I was trembling with anger.

I went to change. Put on a tee.

I called Luke to come get me, I couldn’t go home alone,my mood was really really bad. Luke came by his car like in 5-10 minutes. 'Did he fly?' His house was almost 1 hour way to school.

"Hey buddy,Still in bad mood?" Luke asked.

"What else?"

"Just chill,It happens"

"You say. Damnit" I couldn’t even say a sentence properly.

"Dude,stop the car", I mumbled.

"What?We haven’t reached yet,dude" Luke replied.

"Just stop it."

"Oh..oh okay" Luke stopped,I got out of the car,shot him a thankful gesture. Didn’t say anything then.

"Oi,oi are you okay?shall I come too" Luke shouted.

"No need,bye" I replied.

I was directing to Aunt Keira's house. I just needed to talk to Heili.
