14 - POWERPUFF GIRLS -

"Do you know Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook?"

Jimin frowned, before nodding. He had no idea why his hyung asked him but for some reason, he was having a bad feeling about it. His heart was beating fast and he felt like vomiting. It was all so sudden.

Jimin had learned that it was effective to listen to your gut feel. Whenever something happened to either of his best friends, he'd somehow know. Now, as he thought more into it, he realized that he had been feeling pretty nervous and fidgety for no reason at all since yesterday.

It was like something was telling him that something was not right.

"Yeah...they're my best friends..."

He watched as Suga pursed his lips. The older boy did not speak for a long time before he finally turned to an anxious Jimin.

They stared at each other for a long time.

"I'm about to tell you something you don't want to hear. I want you to stay calm. There's nothing to worry because I'll find a way to fix this, okay?" Suga said slowly in his rare soothing voice. And Jimin just knew that something was really, really wrong.

He inhaled deeply before nodding again, bracing himself for whatever bad news Suga had to tell him.

The boy glanced at his watch before looking back at Jimin. "They... Your friends got kidnapped. Clearly this is the doing of our enemy, probably one of those who pursued us. An unknown source sent me a message, with pictures and details of where they are. Jimin, this is clearly a bait but-"

"Where?" Jimin blurted out. His mind was so foggy now. He was not even aware that both his hands were fisted tightly.

Suga frowned at him, eyebrows drawn in concern.

"W-where?! Where are they keeping them? W-we... We should go there, hyung! We should...g-get them."

And then Jimin was sobbing. He did not know that his knees already gave up awhile ago and now he was miserably sitting on the floor. His body was shaking and breathing ragged as tears continued to fall from his eyes.

But he did not care, nor he was aware of what he was doing.

All that filled Jimin's mind right now was Taehyung's box smile and laugh that never failed to make Jimin laugh as well, Jungkook's rudeness and his playful remarks, the delicious cooking of Tae's grandma...

Oh shit, Tae's grandma.

If she would find out that her grandson was kidnapped, she'd probably have a heart attack. Taehyung's family were in Daegu and Jungkook's were in Busan. The three of them went to Seoul for college and that's where they all met. Jimin just hoped that none of their families would know that they were kidnapped.

They needed to save them. He needed to save him.

He should've known that his best friends would be dragged into this sooner.

He's so stupid.

"Jimin..."

The younger boy barely registered his hyung crouching next to him and pulling him into a hug. Jimin was a mess. He was crying endlessly but he couldn't stop him. All he was thinking was how great Tae and Kookie had been to him but he had only caused them this. He had endangered them. This was his fault.

Jimin allowed the older boy to wrap his arms around him. His hyung's shirt was getting drenched by his tears, and maybe Jimin would've cared about that, but not right now.

He hated this.

His friends were in danger and nobody knew what those guys might to do his precious Taetae and his quirky Kookie. A flash of thought came into Jimin, one where Taehyung was being ruthlessly punched in the gut and Jungkook tied up, unable to do anything.

And then he remembered Kookie's secret phobia on strangers. The poor boy was traumatized when he was kidnapped years ago and ever since, he had always been anxious to strangers suddenly talking to him. And now, his nightmare was repeated again.

And it's because of Jimin.

Jimin shuddered.

This shouldn't be happening.

Not to his friends.

Not to his Taetae and Kookie.

"H-hyung..." Jimin managed to utter, his voice rough. More tears fell as he looked up at his hyung who looked distressed. This was new. He had never seen his hyung distressed before. "Suga-hyung...please save them...p-please..."

And he was crying hard again. He could barely see the face of his hyung from all the tears that filled his eyes. The room felt constricting and Jimin almost thought he would throw up.

He continued to sob into his hyung's shoulder.

"We will, Jimin. I will."

"Hyung..." Jimin uttered almost in a whisper, his body still shaking from all the crying. "Please... P-promise me that- that you w-will save them..."

"I promise, Jiminie."

Suga ran his hand through his hair, sighing heavily and swallowing thickly.

He had not expected this sudden turn of events.

The whole night was quite a ride, trying his best to comfort the crying lad. It was such a challenge to Suga, even more challenging than any of the missions he had. He was never an emotional person, and being someone who grew up alone with so much hatred in the world, let's just say that he was far form being an expert in comforting people.

However, there was Jimin.

The boy was just too bubbly, too cheerful, too stubborn, that it struck Suga to see him cry. And for some odd reason that the older boy did not really wish to dwell on, he had wanted nothing but to wipe those tears away and make the boy smile again.

Suga honestly had no idea why he felt that way towards the younger boy. It had just been about almost two weeks since they met and he was already getting soft. This never happened.

Yes, maybe he had grown fond of his co-agents (and probably his only friends) P and H. But it had taken him a month to their mission to finally warm up on them. Jimin though... Jimin was different.

He somehow always reminded Suga of a part of him that he thought was lost. Jimin never failed to bring out Suga's snarky but humorous side, which was rare as most of the time he just seemed heartless and monotonous. He would just stare people down and give everyone the cold shoulder as if they wronged him.

There were only a few people who managed their way into his heart, that including Yen who he honestly treat as his father despite his denial on the outside. Jimin was slowly becoming one of those few people.

In the end, despite his lack of experience and a bit of awkwardness, Suga still managed to calm Jimin down. But not really calm, more like the younger boy got tired of crying and fell asleep on his shoulders. Suga had then carried him to the bed so that Jimin could rest well. He needed that. A lot of that.

Now though, as Suga watched Jimin sleep peacefully with tear-stained cheeks, he kept on thinking how he should handle the situation. He had promised Jimin and he would keep that promise no matter what. The problem was, he couldn't risk Jimin's life.

He couldn't and would not at all—because it would be really stupid—bring Jimin with him in saving his friends. It would be too risky and he just couldn't afford losing Jimin. He needed to keep him safe. At the same time, he also couldn't just leave Jimin alone and go save the two. Even if Suga left Jimin in a secured place, he never knew what would happen in his absence.

He imagined going to save Taehyung and Jungkook, only to find out that the enemy had already stolen Jimin from him while he's away. It's awful.

Suga scowled. He did not like that idea. It made him feel like a hand was tightly crushing his heart, his chest feeling comfortable.

He didn't like the idea of Jimin getting hurt.

But still, Suga needed to save Jimin's friends. How would he keep Jimin safe while saving the other two?

Oh, of course.

Suga scowled again, not really fond of the idea.

He stared at his watch for a long time before sighing. He promised to Jimin and a promise was a promise. He had no other choice.

Suga needed to call back up.

"Hey yow Suga!" was the cheerful response once Suga finished dialling the number in his phone. "It's been a long time since you cared to contact your hope! Whatcha doin', grumpy pants?"

Suga sighed. "I need help."

There was silence.

"Shit. Are you still there or has your hopeful existence finally ended-"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm still here. It's just... Wow. The great Agent S needs help? Am I really talking to S now?"

The older boy rolled his eyes. "The one and only. Now shut up and listen to what I have to say. I'll also need the Peach in this, actually."

A laugh on the other end of the line, followed by Hoseok's, "Mhmm. Looks like it's time for the Power Puff Girls to be reunited again."
