1 Chapter One

16 years earlier: Prologue

__________

The sunset was beautiful. Another beautiful day in Mexico City.

Jorge sets a plate of food upon us family. One of a daughter and a wife he'd gained while in the CIA. A secret organization made of the CIA.

His beautiful daughter who he had named Jenna and his wife Mia.

Sitting down, the light from outside washes upon all their skin.

"Te amo mi amor. Significas mucho para mi," Mia smiled. Jenna called her hands. Her eyes lighting up with what seemed to be stars. A happy 2 year old she was.

Jorge smiles a little. Grabbing his fork. Jorge was a big guy. Hair long and flowed with the wind. Skin brown and very tanned and eyes a light brown that made his skin tone pop out. He was a rich man yet lived in such poverty due to him wanting to hide his identity from former enemies.

Mia was one of those enemies.

Fell in love with Jorge in a shootout down town in Shanghai, China.

"How was your day, beautiful?" Jorge asked. Mia was Puerto Rican and Mexican. Mia shrugs a little. Taking a bite of her burrito Jorge had whipped up in the kitchen for her.

That's when the door knocked.

This was a very low class neighborhood. Where the walls fell apart. Burglary happens, children play in dirt and used tinfoil that was balled up as a soccer ball sometimes.

Water leaks from the ceiling. Paint on all the walls fell apart and roaches inhabited the general houses. The good side was they lived in a beautiful beach. One that held street food and beautiful lights late at night.

As the knocking continues, Mia smiled and stands.

"I'll get it baby. You enjoy your meal." Kissing Jenna on the forehead, she touches Jorge's arms and rubs his shoulder as she walks past him.

She made her way down the small hall. The floor had scratches and the walls had holes in them yet the house was decorated with such experience. Mexican hats hung neatly on the wall and small statues of skeletons sat on the chipped wooden stands lined along the hall.

Getting to the door, Mia puts her ear to the door. Her hands flat on the door side as she listens ever so closely.

Not a sound.

"Hello?" Mia says. Standing back, she looks through the peephole.

That's when her heart dropped. Memories flood back as her face went cold. The color in her skin faded as she steps back.

The man knocks again. There was at least five of them. All with a dragon tattoo on their arms. Each one holding an AK 47 in their hands. Rushing back to the dinning room, her arms shake in fear.

"We have to go! We have to go my Jorge!" Mia cries.

Her arms shaking and hands sweating. She couldn't stand still. The knocking came harder. Jorge stands in fear.

"What is it, Mia?" He asked.

Mia points but she can't speak.

She opens her mouth but the words don't come out.

Rushing over to Jenna who was playing with her chopped up burrito, she lifts her out the chair. Jorge presses a button under the table. Like a secret facility, the wall next to the kitchen caves in before sliding to the right revealing a secret compartment with all kinds of guns and knives.

"Mia! What is going on?" Just as Jorge speaks, the window in the back room shatters. Mutters of men deep down the hall.

Mia paused for a second. Looking down the hall, the light from the shattered window revealed a shadow of five mean climbing through.

Jorge wasted no time.

Grabbing Mia by the arm, she held Jenna tightly in her grasp.

Fear struck through all of them as Jenna clapped happily not knowing what the hell was going on. They turned to the right.

Jorge slams the door shut, pushing the dresser in front of it.

"We won't make it out of here, Jorge!" Mia cries.

Jorge ignored it. His serious face on as he grabs Jenna from Mia's arms. "Go! Through the damn window!" Jorge demands. The door began to make thuds. They could hear guns cock as the men began shouting and trying to kick the door down. Mia cries aloud before grabbing ahold of the windowsill.

Lifting herself, she climbs through before stepping on the rooftop of the small houses they lived in.

The door was nearly off the hinges.

Jorge lifts Jenna through the window so Mia could grab her. Jenna spitting and laughing before clapping her hands excitedly for Jenna had never actually cried as a baby. Always so happy. So calm. Scared the doctors.

Mia grabs Jenna by the arms, lifting her just over the windowsill before bringing her outside. From so far up, you could see the entire beach. People riding gulf carriers, half naked girls and people playing music with street food in the background. So beautiful.

Jorge lifted himself onto the window just as the door busts open.

The men shout while pointing fingers. Wasting no time, Jorge leaps down. Bullets fly and windows shatter. The walls shake as a bullet barely scrapes Jorge's shoulder.

Landing on the ground, he roles just as Mia covers Jenna's head before ducking.

Their hearts race as bullets come raining down upon them. Fear was in the air as people below scream and run.

Jorge grabs Mia by the sleeve, forcing her to run a bit faster with their one and only child. One of the men make it down.

His gun out of bullets. Quickly sliding Mia in front of him, Jorge turns around kicking the gun out of his hand. With one power kick the man falls to his back and proceeds to roll off of the building. As the gun came crashing down, Jorge roundhouse kicks it into the next man that nearly had his finger on the trigger.

Three more men jump down, chasing Jorge as he decides to forget about them and just run.

Keeping Mia and Jenna in front of him, he gets to the edge of the building. Jumping down, beholds his arms up as Mia drops Jenna down and into his arms.

Rushing to the small Kia they drove, he opens the door quickly.

The hot air in the car comes pouring out as sweat begins to drop from Jorge's forehead. Putting Jenna in the front seat of the car, he turns back to help Mia off of the building.

That's when everything stopped for him.

A gunshot was heard. Tagging Mia in the back, she grunts in pain as falls helplessly to the ground. Jorge catches her in his arms, carrying her to the car as she lied with her back arched backwards and hair flowing to the ground. Her hair blowing in the wind as the men stand above them, loading guns as quickly as they could.

Setting Mia in the car, he sets Jenna beside her. Jenna quickly began trying to play with her mother, only to get no response.

"MIA!" Jorge cries.

Starting up the car, the bullets began protruding into the metal doors.

Jorge steps on the gas, slamming his hands into the wheel as he zooms off down the road. Almost immediately four more black cars began chasing after him.

All he could think of was his wife. How would he get his daughter to safety.

She claps her hands happily yet tears fill his eyes in such an adorable moment. All he could think of was the end.

He didn't want to lose her. His wife was on the verge of dying and if not already dead. Jorge jerks his head back to see the black cars gaining speed. The Kia was going as fast as it could. Swerving around more cars they only got faster and faster. Jenna rocked back and forth laughing at the fact she thought he was playing with her.

Jorge knew he wasn't going to make it.

Quickly taking his watch off, he looks scarcely back and forth between his watch and the road. Clicking a small button under the watch, a small red flashing lightly began happening before he reached and placed it in Jenna's lap.

A watch that signaled help if he ever needed it. For his former boss to send backup if he ever got in trouble.

Still maintaining control over the car, he reaches over and traps the seatbelt around Jenna.

Her smile and beautiful brown eyes sent hairs to stand along his arm. Tears formed in his eyes as he almost forgot he was driving. "Baby..." Jorge cries. He wipes his tears away with his fist looking back and forth between Jenna and his beloved wife.

"Make daddy proud... okay?" Jorge cries.

Jorge tightens the seatbelt.

In a blink of an eye, a garbage truck comes crossing the enter section. Slamming them on the side, the car nearly flips over.

The airbag came flying out, crushing Jorge's skull before the a peace of the car came flying decapitating Mia's head. The truck stopped and people in the streets cried as the fire began to fume from all around Jenna who had survived the crash.

Three scars on her face and dirty hands.

Jenna looks worried now.

No more smiles. She could see her father lying there lifeless as the seatbelt had come undone while flipping.

Her father still lies upside down. His hair dangling and eyes covered in shards of broken glass from the wide window he was on. Jenna crawls towards him.

She was in pain but for a very young baby, she showed little to no emotion to the pain.

"Dada..." Jenna sits upright next to her father's dangling head.

Jenna's nose became red. Her eyes began to water as her lips curled in sadness.

"Dada?" Jenna says again.

Grabbing into his sleeve, she began to tug at it with her tiny hands.

The blood from her cut winds role down her face as she could hear people screaming.

"GET THE BABY!"

"SAVE THE LITTLE GIRL!"

"HURRY!"

Through the window a soldier reaches in to grab Jenna who just stares at him.

Jenna seeing a new face goes to crawl to him. The soldier quickly pulls Jenna from in the car, taking off to the side in the nick of time. Everyone cleared the street just as the car exploded into pieces. The soldier had hidden behind the steel truck him and his team had brought due to the signal Jorge had left to save Jenna.
