Chapter 1: Where it All Began.

Growing up I dreamed of going off to college, meeting friends, and probably meeting my future husband, but now I'm standing outside my dorm building being checked to see if I'm different. Confusing I know so let me start at the beginning, it was a cool Tuesday evening and my classes had just wrapped up so I was relaxing in the common room when all of sudden "boo" "Damn it Sarah you scared me half to death!" Sarah was a friend of mine all be it a friend that enjoyed scaring me like we were 5. I meet Sarah during our first year, but we didn't start hanging out until our second semester. To describe her was like trying to put your opinion on art as by looking at her you could get a different interpretation from each person. She wore jeans, t-shirt, and snickers she had always said that it was "more comfortable for her." And she always kept her hair really short. Her eyes were sort of a brown color and her hair was colored green. "Oh come on I wasn't that scary?" "Well I wasn't expecting it!" Someone came up behind me and jumped in on the conversation. "Oh come on Alex you know Sarah's been doing this for the past year." "Well she keeps catching me off guard David." David is another one of my friends and someone I had a crush on for what since first year, but I never had the courage to ask him out and I didn't know if he had the same feelings for me. David always felt out of my league from him being ripped. He always wore collared button up shirts and jeans, but he wore boots so he looked like a farmer or someone from south Florida and he had long auburn hair.

We usually would hangout in the common room after all our class were over another one of our friends Marcus usually hung out with us, but his class most have been running late. We sat and talked like normal well with me needing to build courage before I said anything to David, if I had know what would happen next I probably would have told David how I really felt, but of course I never would as during our conversation "Hey guys I'm not feeling...." I barely got out what I was saying before I collapsed off the couch the last thing I saw before I closed my eyes was my friends looking at me and trying to see what was wrong. All I could see was darkness nothing for as far as I could see, but I could feel air around me as if I was falling I didn't know how long I had been falling for, but all of a sudden I hit the ground and woke up breathing heavily and sweeting up a storm the power seemed to have been out and the windows seemed to have been covered. I had no idea what was going on but I knew it wasn't good. I couldn't feel anything and my eyes were still tired so I put my hand up to my head and when I did I felt something wet and when my eyes adjusted I had wanted to scream at what greeted me when I saw my hand. It was red, but not a bright red the type of red you would see if you darkened it a bit the same color as blood. I turned to my right to see Sarah on her side eyes open wide, but with no life in them blood in front of her face. I jumped from the sight of it and then I hit something behind me I turned and behind me on the couch was David with the same lifeless look in his eyes. The sight made me want to cry here was someone I had a crush on for the past year and now he was died in front of me. I didn't want to be there any more so I tried to get up, but my legs were asleep and it took me a while to get my footing, but I managed and as I was walking all I could see more people laying in pools of blood dead not single one stirring it was if I been thrown into a horror movie and I was the only survivor. The situation felt hopeless, but I made my way to the main door when I open it the sun was blinding, but I managed to walk two feet in front of me before I started to feel like I was falling again. That was until a gust of wind pushed into my face and a voice started talking at me "Hey gorgeous are you ok." I didn't know how to respond also it didn't help that my mouth felt dry. I heard a smack and then a girls voice "really Runner your fluttering with her after she just came out of that horror?" "Well I thought it would cheer her..ow quite it." She seemed to be not taking his shit. "I'm sorry about him miss?" "Alex" "Alex ok now me and this idiot are going to help you over to a group of paramedics who are going to check up on you and see how your doing ok?" I nodded "Ok Runner help me here." "As long as you don't slap me again Hacker." "As long you don't do anything stupid." They carried me over to the next part of my new life as a 38.
