Chapter 1Chapter 1 The Hidden Cave

The warm glow of the Saturday morning sun filtered through the tall trees as five teenagers stood at the edge of a sprawling forest. Zane Rivers adjusted the straps of his backpack, glancing at the others with a faint smirk. "So, we're really doing this?"

"Unless you're scared of getting dirt on those pretty shoes, Zane," Hall quipped, a grin spreading across his face. "Or worse, stepping into a bear trap. I heard they're vegan bears out here—only eat hikers."

Zane rolled his eyes but couldn't suppress a chuckle. "Let's just get moving before you scare someone off, Hall."

The group stepped onto the dirt path, laughter and chatter echoing as they began their hike. Lila was at the front, pedaling her bike with determination. She called back over her shoulder, "Try to keep up, slowpokes!"

Mira walked alongside Ash, her long black hair shining in the sunlight. She nudged him with her elbow. "How much you wanna bet Lila crashes into a tree?"

Ash smirked. "Five bucks says she falls before that happens."

The forest grew denser as they ventured further. The trail narrowed, and vines hung low, brushing against their faces. The fresh scent of pine mingled with the distant rustle of animals.

"Not bad," Zane muttered, scanning the horizon. His sharp gray eyes were always alert, taking in every detail of their surroundings.

"Yeah, it's gorgeous," Hall said. "A perfect place to get murdered."

"Do you ever stop?" Mira asked, rolling her eyes.

"Nope," Hall replied cheerfully.

Ahead, Lila's voice rang out, followed by a loud crash. "Ow!"

The group rushed forward to find her sprawled on the ground, her bike overturned beside her. Leaves and dirt clung to her clothes as she sat up, wincing.

"You okay?" Zane asked, helping her to her feet.

"Yeah, just my pride," Lila grumbled, brushing off her leggings.

Hall, of course, couldn't resist. "Don't worry. If you break a leg, I'll carry you back. I hear piggybacks are all the rage in survival stories."

"Thanks, but no thanks," Lila snapped, glaring at him.

As Zane helped Lila retrieve her bike, something caught his attention. A faint shimmer of movement beyond the trees—a barely perceptible flicker. He frowned, stepping away from the group.

"Zane?" Mira called, noticing his distraction. "What's up?"

He didn't answer. Something about the flicker drew him in, like an invisible thread tugging at his curiosity. He followed it, brushing past the low-hanging branches.

"Zane?" Mira repeated, her voice more insistent now. She exchanged a glance with Ash before jogging after him.

The others followed suit, catching up to find Zane standing still, his eyes fixed on something ahead.

"What is it?" Hall asked, peering over his shoulder.

Zane pointed. "There."

Before them, hidden behind a dense curtain of overgrown bushes, was the mouth of a cave. The entrance was jagged and uneven, as though it had been carved into the rock by time itself. Thick vines and moss clung to the stone, nearly concealing it entirely.

"Whoa," Lila whispered, stepping closer.

"How did we miss this?" Ash muttered, his brow furrowed.

"Probably because it's not supposed to be found," Hall said, his usual humor replaced by a faint unease. "This looks like something straight out of a horror movie."

Mira placed a hand on the cool, mossy rock near the entrance. "It's been hidden for ages," she said quietly.

Zane stepped forward, his eyes scanning the dark, gaping mouth of the cave. The air around it felt heavier, almost charged, like a storm was brewing just out of sight.

"What do you think is inside?" Lila asked, her voice tinged with excitement and apprehension.

"Only one way to find out," Zane said, his lips curving into a faint smirk.

The five of them stood in silence for a moment, staring into the cave as though it were staring back at them. The forest seemed to hold its breath, the usual sounds of birds and rustling leaves eerily absent.

"Well," Hall finally said, breaking the tension. "If we die, at least we'll make the news."

The cave's entrance loomed before them, dark and unyielding. Zane glanced back at the others, his gray eyes reflecting both curiosity and caution. "You guys ready?"

"No," Hall replied immediately. "But let's do it anyway. I'd hate for this to be boring."

With that, Zane stepped forward, leading the group into the cave. The light from outside dimmed as they ventured deeper, the air growing colder and heavier with each step. Shadows danced on the walls, cast by the faint beams of sunlight that managed to sneak through cracks in the rock above.

"This is insane," Mira muttered, keeping close to Zane.

"Speak for yourself," Lila said, her voice tinged with a mix of excitement and fear. "This is kinda cool."

"Cool until we stumble onto a bear or something," Ash said, his tone flat.

As they moved further in, a faint crunching noise echoed underfoot. Mira glanced down and wrinkled her nose. "What is this?"

Zane knelt, brushing his fingers over the dusty floor. It was littered with tiny, dark clumps. His realization came at the same moment as Hall's exclamation.

"Holy shit, that's a lot of bat shit," Hall said, his voice breaking the tension as he grinned.

"Hall, can you not?" Mira groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"I'm just saying," Hall replied, gesturing to the ground. "This is what happens when you let bats throw parties."

"Gross," Lila muttered, stepping carefully to avoid the droppings.

"Focus," Zane said, his tone sharp but not unkind. He straightened and nodded toward the faintly visible path ahead. "Let's keep moving."

The deeper they went, the more the cave began to transform. The rough, natural walls gave way to smooth stone, almost as if someone had carved a passage into the rock. The air grew heavier still, the silence pressing against their ears like a physical weight.

Then they saw it—a door.

It stood at the end of the path, weathered and ancient, its wooden surface cracked and splintered. Rusted metal bands held it together, and a strange symbol was etched into the wood, barely visible in the dim light.

"Okay, this is officially creepy," Ash said, crossing his arms.

"Who puts a door in the middle of a cave?" Lila asked, stepping closer to inspect it.

"Someone who doesn't want us to see what's behind it," Hall suggested, grinning.

Zane ran his hand over the door's surface, feeling the rough texture beneath his fingertips. "It's been here a long time," he murmured.

Mira tilted her head, her eyes narrowing. "Are we opening it?"

"Do we even have a choice?" Lila asked.

"Sure we do," Hall said, leaning casually against the wall. "We could turn around, leave, and pretend this never happened."

"No one's turning around," Zane said firmly, his hand already on the metal handle.

The others fell silent, watching as he pulled the door open with a low creak.

Beyond the door was something none of them could have anticipated.

It was a lab—or what was left of one. The space was massive, the walls lined with broken glass cabinets and rusted metal shelves. Tables were overturned, and shattered equipment littered the floor. Papers, yellowed with age, were scattered everywhere, some torn and others burned around the edges.

"What is this place?" Mira whispered, stepping inside.

"It looks like they were...experimenting," Ash said, picking up a cracked glass beaker.

"On what?" Lila asked, glancing at the strange, rust-colored stains on the walls and floors.

Zane moved deeper into the lab, his footsteps echoing in the silence. He stopped in front of a large cage, its bars bent and broken. Inside, there were remains—bones, small and delicate.

"Bats," Zane said, his voice low. "They were experimenting on bats."

Mira frowned, her gaze sweeping over the room. "Why bats? What were they trying to do?"

"Whatever it was, it doesn't look like it ended well," Hall said, pointing to a series of deep claw marks gouged into the wall near one of the overturned tables.

"Guys," Lila called from across the room. Her voice was unsteady, tinged with fear. "You might want to see this."

They turned to find her standing near the far end of the lab, her eyes fixed on something ahead.

As they approached, the floor beneath them began to slope downward, leading to a massive pit. The edges were jagged, as though the ground had been ripped apart by something.

The pit stretched deep into the earth, disappearing into darkness. A faint sound echoed up from its depths—a low, guttural noise that sent shivers down their spines.

"What the hell is that?" Ash asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Whatever it is," Zane said, staring into the abyss, "I don't think it's friendly."

They stood there, frozen, staring into the pit as the sound grew louder, more menacing. The air around them seemed to hum with energy, and for the first time, the group felt the weight of their decision to enter the cave.

I Can Copy And Evolve Talents

Across the vast convolution of worlds, divine beings rule as absolute sovereigns—each god assigned dominion over a singular realm. Skirmishes are inevitable, whether for power, amusement, or sheer pettiness. One such battle, between Nexus, the God of Trickery, and an aging, senile deity, resulted in an anomaly… A soul misplaced. Elliot, an ordinary man, was never meant for Ul’Tra-el. But fate, or perhaps a cosmic prank, had other plans. Unlike other worlds, Ul’Tra-el is an aberration—one that developed a voice. A voice that diverged from the natural order. A voice that changed everything. Its foundation cracked, leaking dimensions into one another. Rifts tore open like festering wounds, vomiting forth unspeakable horrors—monsters not meant to exist. But the world did not sit idly by. In response—perhaps an act of self-preservation—the world gifted its inhabitants power. Talents awakened, granting people extraordinary abilities. And for every rift sealed, the Voice of Ul rewarded them generously. Survival was simple: fight, grow stronger, and close the rifts… or die trying. In this ruthless, blood-soaked reality, Northern—a white-haired boy burdened by his past life—was reincarnated. But unlike the chosen heroes, he awakened as a talentless nobody. No power. No strength. No future. And when death loomed over him—when despair clawed at his soul and the cold grip of the failure threatened to take him— A Voice responded: [System Notice] [Your Soul cannot take a form.] [Searching for a Unique Pattern Ability…] [Searching…] [Search Found.] [A Unique System Ability has been detected.] [You Can Copy And Evolve Talents] ... Follow Northern through his journey as he becomes the pinnacle of this world. This a story about a white-haired boy’s rise from rubbles!! Note: This is an overpower genre but MC does not just start off like that. Even though MC can copy talents he doesn't just jump around copying talents because there's a limitation. However, his rise to strength is depicted and is an experience to enjoy. The first few hundreds would be frustrating to follow because MC is weak but that makes the experience all the more interesting when MC finally gets freaking strong and starts wiping the floor with everyones asses.

Reincarnated To Evolve My Bee Empire

"Now, go forth, my mortal champion! Conquer this world—or else!" I lived a painfully average life and died by a stupid, stupid accident, but a goddess interfered, giving me a second chance in another world. There, I became royalty—the lazy kind with almost no obligations, free to live in peace and luxury for the rest of my days. Sounds like a dream, right? In reality, it was anything but—because I became *BEE* royalty. A Drone Bee, doomed to die of old age in 2 months! (A humanoid bee, thankfully, but still a bee in all the ways that matter.) The only way to increase my lifespan is to develop and grow my bee colony—a deadly task in a vicious world like this one. There are murderous insect monsters, colossal beasts trampling the earth, other civilizations, natural disasters, and the bitchy patron goddess who absolutely hates me. But as long as I have my brains, my bees, and the powerful genes my system gives me, my Bee Empire will be unstoppable! === For those who want to know more: This is a wholesome comedic story, but it has some dark moments. The focus is on kingdom building, survival as an empire, and interacting with MC’s beautiful bee wife and adorable bee daughters. The bees are all humanoid (see pictures) and human-sized. However, they are still bees in their ways of life and mentality. Although there’s a system, real growth comes from putting effort and time. Nothing happens in an instant in this story, unless it’s trouble. MC acts like an idiot sometimes (oftentimes), but he’s not actually stupid-stupid. When it comes to strategic decisions, he uses logic and reason. Even if you might disagree with it. Also, there will be no smut (ecchi is a fair game), incest, NTR, harem or BL. === Discord is up! Find it at -> https://linktr.ee/Garessta Updates: 2 chapters/day, right after the reset (with a 5% chance of running late). Reply to author's pinned review if you have questions. And I BET that you CAN'T push this novel to top 15 golden ticket rating. If I lose this bet, I will mass release 10 extra chapters! (within 30 calendar days)
