Welcome dear reader! The auxiliary chapters serve as a repository of information about the world I'm building. But be -forewarned- that there WILL be spoilers! I will continue to update this segment whenever I can, but do drop me a comment or review if you think it hasn't been updated for a while. [0AD up until December 1999]
The sequence of the world's history remains mostly the same as the one we all know
[1998]
NASA establishes the Near-Earth Object (NEO) program
[18th December, 1999]
➣ Science officer Reeve Silverson detects four asteroids hurling towards Earth
➣ The asteroids seemingly appeared out of nowhere, as if magically appearing in the radar at that very moment.
➣ Science officer Reeve Silverson calls the President of the United States
➣ The President of the United States convenes with other world leaders
➣ A united world government was formed, along with an emergency task force to deal with the impending asteroids
➣ Joint operations were launched to evacuate all predicted crash sites
➣ "Operation Starfall" was initiated, a last minute effort and attempt to damage and divert the asteroids that were rapidly approaching Earth's atmosphere
➣ Every single capable military force on Earth launched missiles as part of Operation Starfall, but failed to do any significant damage to the asteroids
➣ A second wave of missiles was launched at two of the smaller asteroids in order to mitigate some damage. It was a successful attempt that broke apart the two smaller asteroids into smaller pieces
➣ The world watched as the asteroids crashed unto earth's surface, helpless
[19th December, 1999]
➣ All of earth's human population remained in hiding until scientists verified that the air was clear and non-toxic for humans to breathe in
[21st December, 1999]
➣ Almost half of the earth's surface was damaged from the asteroid impact
➣ The emergency task force that the world government created was dispatched to each of the asteroid crash sites to study the asteroids and determine any irregularities
➣ Scientists discover that the asteroids are not made from any known material on earth
[23rd December, 1999]
➣ The first reports of objects coming to life and possessing magical abilities were collected by the united world government
➣ Nations with functioning intelligence agencies tasked their agents to several locations where magical objects are rumored to have been found
➣ Reportedly, the first unofficial race and struggle to obtain relics by forces in power
[24th December, 1999]
➣ Christmas Eve of 1999, also known as the first observation of "Relic Fever" - a term that would only be coined much later for the disease that spread over the world in a matter of days
➣ Relic Fever swept across the world, as more and more magical objects were discovered. The symptoms may include intense fever and severe desiccation of the skin, gradual loss of vision and muscular dystrophy
➣ Magical objects were indicated to have been regular objects prior to the asteroid crash, now dubbed "Starfall" to commemorate the operation of a united world government to protect Earth
➣ Magical objects seem to draw inspiration from fairy tales, folklore, legends and myths that were passed down in mankind's course of existence after further investigations
[25th December, 1999]
➣ More than half of the world's population had succumbed to Relic Fever
➣ Magical objects are not compatible with every single person for reasons unknown
➣ The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) discovered that a micro-particle carried by the asteroids were causing Relic Fever, but had no way of preventing or curing it
➣ The first few casualties from Relic Fever were reported, followed by irresponsible leaks to media who started reporting it to the public and causing widespread panic and chaos
➣ Scientists rush to discover a vaccine or cure for Relic Fever, turning to the excavated asteroid shards for answers
➣ For a moment, the world government focused on curing mankind and stopped their secret struggle for the magical objects which would later be known as 'relics'
[27th December, 1999]
➣ The world descends into chaos and madness as the world's population despair, fearing the unknown disease that had spread across earth
➣ People across the world are randomly magically cured of Relic Fever, and start exhibiting mysterious abilities that are related to the magical objects
➣ Scientists and researchers later theorized that being in the vicinity of relics or potential relics were the cause of those who recovered
[28th December, 1999]
➣ The first wave of prominent relic users were born after being miraculously cured from Relic Fever
➣ Multiple religious fanatics who believed they were the chosen by the magical objects, now officially dubbed as "relics" by the world government started gathering followers and forming their own cults all over the world
➣ A prominent scare regarding computers and services that relied heavily on the internet was circulating around the world, but relics were the core focus of everyone
[1st January, 2000]
➣ Humanity enters the new millennium unprepared as the world continues to descend into madness and chaos due to the emergence of relics
➣ The world government begins discussing the regulation and control of relics
[3rd January, 2000]
➣ A protest is held by a mass majority who refuse to bow to a world government that failed in so many regards but wishes to control the distribution and usage of relics
➣ Several countries contemplate exiting the unified world government coalition
[5th January, 2000]
➣ Scientists and researches name the mineral extracted from the asteroids "Stellanium"
➣ It was discovered that Stellanium emits a type of radiation that may cause certain side-effects on both living and non-living things
➣ Further attempts are made by the world government to create their own forces that will oversee, prevent, create laws and prosecute for the matters related to relics. This was the prototype for what would eventually become the Relic Enforcers
[11th January, 2000]
➣ Most, if not all cults related to relic usage formed by religious fanatics were dominated and unified by a single unknown entity. It remains a mystery until today
➣ Scientists deep-dive into the properties and application of Stellanium, citing that it was a groundbreaking discovery that would propel human technology by decades, if not by centuries
➣ China, Russia and most territories within the Middle East exit the world government coalition, refusing further cooperation until their demands are recognized
[20th January, 2000]
➣ Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and several countries within the EU made their exit from the world government coalition
➣ The very first mutated creatures due to prolonged exposure to Stellanium were sighted. A pack of hyenas that mutated to twice their regular sizes terrorized a small village in Africa until they were suppressed by the local military
[3rd February, 2000]
➣ An act of terrorism using relics was conducted for the very first time in human history. A plague mysteriously spread during a United Nations conference and killed several key figures and numerous civilians in attendance. The relic that committed this heinous act was discovered to be "Oedipus's Tragedy", an item that resembles a shepherd's crook. It was never reported who was the mastermind behind this incident
[9th February, 2000]
➣ Several more nations made their exit from the world government coalition, leaving only the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Philippines and some others as what used to be the one and only time humankind's leaders stood united
➣ The remaining nations banded together to pass a bill that would go on to create the Relic Enforcers, a neutral force that sought to maintain law in order in this now chaotic world
➣ Relic Fever cases across the world dwindled and became a rare occurrence at this point onwards
[16th March, 2000]
➣ Military and armed forces around the world begin arming their soldiers with relics
[26th March, 2000]
➣ An incident known as "Bloody Monday" happens
➣ A peaceful protest against the misuse of relics in Hong Kong was interrupted when several innocent protestors were decapitated with the use of a relic by a man claiming to be a Japanese spy
➣ The world government completely dissolves as the leaders of different nations takes different sides during the Bloody Monday incident
➣ The Chinese military responds by mobilizing their navy into Japanese waters, sparking the conflict that would later be known as the First Relic War, this war would go on to last 5 years, causing widespread destruction, casualties and destabilization of the world's economy
[5th May, 2000]
➣ A 23 year old Minami Enki graduates top of her class from the National Defense Academy of Japan and begins her colorful service as a soldier specializing in relic use in the Japanese Self Defense Forces
➣ HADES announces its presence and purpose to the world, further propelling the ongoing war into a deeper state of chaos.
[29th June, 2000]
➣ Minami Enki was dispatched to Italy for a reconnaissance and support mission in order to safely escort as well as investigate the first ever Divine-Grade Relic discovered in the Vatican
➣ Several other military forces in the world eyeing the same Divine-Grade relic sent their clandestine operatives into Italy to intercept and steal the relic
➣ It was later rumored that the relic that surfaced was known as "Gabriel's Oath" which will later be known as one of the Archangel's Armaments. The true form of the relic was never known as it was swiped during transport
➣ Minami Enki's team was wiped out during the attack that also resulted in 13 other casualties, leaving her the sole survivor from this mission
[12th August, 2000]
➣ Normal humans who were unable to wield relics were classified as "non-users" and this began another movement to call for equality and not be treated any lesser than relic users
➣ The cause for this was unknown as the genetic makeup of humans were not altered after Relic Fever, causing scientists and researchers to theorize that the ability to wield relic may be of mystical cause and not biological
[21st August, 2000]
➣ Certain extremists called for a divide between the "afflicted" and "non-afflicted" populations, with some groups advocating for equal rights and opportunities for all, while others believe that those who are immune should be segregated and excluded from society
➣ Many individuals and powerful forces in the world continue to covet relics and the powers they hold, drunk on the endless possibilities
[3rd October, 2000]
➣ Stellanium becomes hot commodity as the development of relic tech and relic cloning becomes the next big thing
➣ Multiple countries around the world with the agenda of securing more Stellanium for themselves, march their military into smaller less and powerful nations, furthering the war and collapse of the known world
[2001]
➣ Scientists successfully clone relics using a mixture of alloys and Stellanium, granting normal objects with the mystical and powerful abilities of relics
➣ The war fought was no longer a war that served any purpose. The original intent of seeking justice has been lost and the only cause left is one served to circulate relics in the form of weaponry to the rest of the world
➣ Sometime in 2001, Minami Enki was handed her signature Myth-Grade relic, the True Phoenix Bracers. Three other Myth-Grade relics were also handed out to other individuals who participated in the Relic War under the Japanese forces.
[2002-2004]
➣ The Relic War continues to ravage the world for the next several years, with multiple incidents that happened in between which shaped the present world. The war was fought with the ever-evolving technology and relic weaponry. The consequences of this war are severe and far-reaching. Millions of innocent lives have been lost, and those who survived are left scarred both physically and mentally. Families have been torn apart, homes destroyed, and entire communities wiped out.
➣ Somewhere in 2004, just before the turn of the war came to an end, Minami Enki wipes out an entire battalion consisting of over a thousand soldiers on her own in a black-ops gone wrong situation, earning her nickname "Witch of Scarlet Flames"
➣ Minami Enki left the army willingly, and was never seen again for several years
➣ The Relic Enforcers cement themselves as a necessary force in the modern world that stands apart from any governmental or political factions.
➣ Underground relic smuggling and illegal trading becomes the norm as people become desperate to get their hands on unique or dangerous relics that are not normally accessible
[2005]
➣ Mercenary organizations became the norm as the government took a backseat at military operations and became unable to intervene due to an armistice signed between world leaders
[2023]
➣ Professor Ritter meets up with HADES in Berlin
➣ In Albania, a grotesque massacre where multiple residents of a house were mutilated and burnt to death was reported
➣ Due to a sudden outbreak of Stellanium beasts in the Maliau Basin, Heaven's Watch members were dispatched to support
➣ Professor Adrian, a world renowned expert on relics was reported missing
➣ Professor Shiva, a colleague of Professor Adrian goes into witness protection under the Enforcers at a secret location
