5 Chapter 5

After their breakfast everyone went to their class room.

Dante and the others had science class. The professor was giving a lecture on how it's possible to use gifts to view places that are kilometers away.

Most of the students weren't paying attention and had something else on their mind.

[Professor, may i suggest we discuss what's on everyone's mind.]

Claudia's voice stopped the lecture.The professor looked up at her confused, but then she noticed everyone's gaze straying towards Dante.

[I suppose we should]

[Why is his gift red?] Asked one of the students.

[That could be because he's male. But since he is the only man to ever possess a gift there is no way to confirm it]

[Why is he so powerful?]

[Why does his gift look like fire?]

[There is no way to know why he has so much power. To know for sure we would need to compare him to some one as powerful or another male angel. As for his burning appearance i believe his intense energy creates plasma when it comes into contact with air]

[There's some thing else everyone wants to know but is too afraid to ask.]

[How did u get that scar?]

[Wish i knew.]

[How long have you had your gift?]

[About two weeks.]

Everyone is shocked, even the professor.

[How old are you?]

[Almost nineteen. When did you get your gifts.]

[Three years ago. Professor how is this possible?]

[Like i said before, we have no way of knowing what is normal for him.]

[Professor do we know why we get our gifts when we do?] Claudia joins in again.

[Am afraid we don't. there are only theories.]

[Does one of those theories involve puberty?]

[Oh i guess you might be right. that would explain it.]

The students look at her confused.

[You see girls and boys start and finish puberty at a different age. Girls finish puberty around sixteen while boys finish at nineteen, which would explain why we get our gift between the ages of fifteen and sixteen and why Mr. Crow got his this late.]

[I have a question. What kind of runes does he use? I couldn't see them during the fight.]

[Runes?] Asks Dante confused.

[Wait. Don't tell me you don't know what runes are. How did you shoot those blasts without knowing what runes are?] Katerine starts going off on Dante.

[I raised my hand and blasted energy from it.]

[So you're saying you just blasted raw energy?]

[What the fuck did you think i was doing?]

Everyone is stunned. Even the professor is shocked.

[Mr. Crow, we use runes to focus our energy and turn it into an effective weapon. If you can fire a blast of raw energy that strong without runes then your power is leagues beyond the most powerful angels to ever live.]

[Do you know what eldrite is and how we use it?]

[It's a metal.]

[Alright then let me explain. Eldrite is a rare metal that was mined from Tartaros. The metal is a conductor for our gift. Eldrite shards act as an extension of our body allowing us to emit energy from them just as we emit it from our bodies.]

The professor takes out her shards and holds them in her hand.

[By empowering them with energy we can make them levitate and move however we want.]

The shards start to float in the air and they form a circle and start to spin.

[When we move them their force is determined by how much energy is used. If we use the minimum amount required they bounce of, but with enough energy they can theoretically penetrate anything.]

[So you stab demons with them?]

[Of course not you dimwit. We would exhaust all our strength just to kill one demon if we tried that.] Katerine replies with a condescending voice.

[Well you see Mr. Crow we use Eldrite to enhance our abilities or to cast them at range. Oh, that's right. We will have to get you Eldrite as well. I will talk to the Head Master about that. Mr. Crow you might want to consider your specialization until you get your Eldrite.]

After the class was over the students started moving towards the training room.

While Dante was walking down the hallway with the other students Katerine and her friends ran up to him and stood in front of him.

[Listen here you uneducated pig...]

[Fuck off.]

Dante tries to walk past her but she gets in his way.

[I held my tongue during the class but i will not tolerate your vulgarity!]

[What makes you think i give a fuck what an entitled bitch like you tolerates?]

Katerine is shocked by that rudeness. Insulted, she swings her arm to slap Dante.

However he blocks her hand and punches her straight in her face. She hits the ground and as she turns her head to face him Dante steps on her head pressing her to the floor. He leans over her.

[Don't start a fight you can't finish.]

His voice is calm and his eyes are cold and fill with resentment.

[Know your place.]

Dante stands upright and takes his food of Katerine's head.

The students around them are staring at him, worried.

He turns around walks away.
