Even though to many politicians the reputation of the Chancellor is like a ruthless old fox, his reputation among the scholars and the common people is very good and could be considered having an unblemished reputation of the man of the people. 

Some argue that maybe the Vlad did something to the Chancellor and that forces the Chancellor to kill them. 

However, this theory was quickly shot down by the others scholars and anyone with a brain. The Vlad is known to be courteous in their manner and they are not the enemy of the Chancellor. 

Even if the Vlad family insulted the Chancellor, the Chancellor would also not be mad enough to massacre everyone inside the premise.

The case of the Vlad family murder was something of a mystery. What is more mysterious that there is no news about the Chancellor anywhere.
