Spot

After the library trip, Zedd went on to that spot where he usually spent his vacant time in the university.. His mind got blown away by that poetry. Really. That he didn't notice he was going to this place. His mind was somewhere else.

"Who could that be?" He quipped.

"Me?" Someone retorted gently.

He didn't realize he actually spoke that out loud.

And here he was rooted in shock as he was not alone. He gazed to his left where the voice seemed to be coming from.

Wait, he knows that voice.

He slowly approached it and he was half surprised half indecisive to still continue when he saw the figure under the glow of the pillar lamps.

This was a mini garden. With a small pond at the back part with coi fishes in it. At the center was a fountain of a Venus statue and the scattered decorative swans gather around it.

Pillars guard the little premise and beside each pillar lamp is a love seat. And that's where the figure is seated. He must be so engrossed on thinking that he didn't notice that lone silhouette.

But the voice spoke again,

"Hi, Miller.." It seemed sad and sentimental.

As he gazed into that once the most lovely eyes he adored so much, he realized he's no longer in deep. That was a relief he thought.

But they say, once it stayed in the confines of the heart, it doesn't really go away. It lives there forever.

So when she started to sob, she had his full attention now.

"Amanda, what's wrong?" Zedd started in haste to get nearer.

By hearing him say that, she started to actually cry, no longer sobbing.

"Hey, I am listening." Zedd tried to calm her and went to sit beside her.

"Everything seems so wrong, Miller." She spoke in between sobs but at least she's starting to downplay it.

"Like?" He retorted.

"With you here. Why are you here? You're not supposed to be here. Do you even realize this is our first meeting after four years and we're back here to our spot! This was how I met you, the you that I...". Amanda stuttered in the last line but managed to speak up in between sobs earlier.

To this, Zedd heaved a deep sigh.

She's actually right.

He didn't realize it sooner.

This was how and where their relationship of three years started.. and ended. He added.

Amanda Gomez was his long time girlfriend in College until the first year after university. She has this deep brown eyes, porcelain skin, long jet black hair that always reaches her waist. She is pretty but the reserved type. She blends with the crowd and she is alright with that.

But they broke up because as to her, she fell out of love.

Zedd had a bad rut after that. Jumping from one relationship to another after a maximum of three months and a minimum of a day, yes.

That's how bad it was.

He devoted his love to Amanda that he even lessen his time with his best friend Joey, to appease the insecurity of Amanda when it comes to Joey.

But Joey understood that.

And gave way because that's his girlfriend.

They seemed to understand each other deeply as Zedd is an Industrial Engineer and so is Amanda. They shared the same passion. That was what kept their love burning.

But when they started to mobilize their dreams, that's where it all started to fall apart.

Six months after graduation, Amanda got an offer abroad and their time difference put a strain in the relationship at first.

Until there no longer was communication..

and Zedd, well, he started to focus his time more in his job that he has now to keep up with.

And sooner, Amanda had the break up call.

Joey, well Joey saw it all because they were having a movie marathon at that time with their common friends and she was so keen on picking up people's emotions. About two minutes after receiving that call, Zedd's shoulders humped.

Sooner, was shaking.

By then she knew, it must be a break up call. And her heart just broke like that for her best friend too. God knows how much Zedd loves Amanda.

That was the start of Zedd being a player, a one-night-stander, the smoker and the alcoholic.

It was hard for Joey to keep up.

"Hey, you still there?" Amanda asked softly.

Zedd must realize he tripped down memory lane deep that he lost grip of the present.

"Yeah." He replied and heaved another sigh.

"How are you, Miller?" Amanda gently placed her hand above his arm close to her. And Zedd glued his eyes at that hand which before meant the world to him.

"What do you want to hear, Amy?" He spoke now using her nickname.

This did not go unnoticed to Amanda as a small smile crept into her lips.

But she realized sooner that it was her who found another man too soon while away and while still in their relationship so she removed her hand above Zedd's arm. Shame got her silent.

This time, Zedd flicked her nose gently as how he would to tease her before when she's seemingly lost in thoughts.

"Hey, what's that for!" Objected Amanda.

Just the right reaction he was expecting.

"You were out of this world so I had to do that. Sorry." Zedd retorted lightly and teasingly.

Amanda rewarded him that small genuine smile that he loves. This wasn't bright and beaming but her eyes twinkle and that's what makes it captivating to him.

Ahhh.. Must I still have the feeling? Or must I just overwhelmed? This was the first time I met her after four years and... I'm confused. He castigated himsef.

Amanda carefully looked at him and went on,

"No, Zedd. It's actually I'm sorry for being unfair and all there was that ever happened. I mean it."

Zedd was looking down his shoes hearing them and later, he looked at her again and nodded. After a moment of silence he held his hand as if asking for her to stand up and uttered,

"Let's go back to the auditorium."

To which Amanda obliged.

Joey saw them together, Zedd and Amanda, upon entering the hall and she can't really tell whether she's happy seeing his best friend and his then, greatest love.

She went through hell to keep him on track again.

She stayed for him even she caught in between catfights because of him.

Because he was there too when everyone turned their backs on her as well.

Life indeed goes around and comes around.

"Oh, well.." Joey muttered.
