CHAPTER 41: ANOTHER LEVEL OF SHAMELESSNESS

Several pairs of eyes suddenly turned around to look at this person who was bold and crazy enough to ask such a hilarious and unheard-of question.

Among the curious people, the short and dark-skinned woman was one of them, but her eyes filled with cunning, and shamelessness also showed something that Tapiwa was very much knowledgeable about; greed.

At this very moment, other people did not bother Tapiwa, she was only concerned about the greedy woman she was looking at.

Even the people in question she spontaneously wanted to buy, she didn't bother looking at them. In these short moments, she had watched the whole drama episode, she could tell that this greedy woman was the person in power.

And she was so powerful, especially to the giant mother and her children, that whatever she said was final.

And since the mother didn't have power over herself, what was the point of talking to her?

Chipo, on the other hand, was baffled by Tapiwa's sudden actions.

'What is Big sister doing?' she worriedly thought to herself and wanted to ask her but seeing the cold and chill expression in her eyes, Chipo was just too good at reading expressions and decided to save herself from the suffering.

"Heh, and who might you be?" the short and dark-skinned woman asked cautiously as she sized Tapiwa.

'She looks very rich. I can recoup my losses if I do the business with her.'

Tapiwa honestly didn't want to interact much with the greedy woman and just wanted to get all that done as soon as possible.

So, she looked at the woman without an ounce of like on her face and coldly responded, "Who I am, doesn't matter. What I want to hear from you is the answer. Since you don't want to take care of them any longer, are you selling them or not?"

Hearing the bossy tone from the well-dressed city woman, the dark-skinned woman was obviously very angry and felt looked down upon, but she wasn't stupid.

If it were the women in the villages, she would have exchanged several rounds of gun powders without care, but people with power and money were the kinds that she was willing to lower her head even when her belly was filled with grievances.

The dark-skinned woman looked at her useless daughter-in-law and her grandchildren, mouths that only knew how to eat and get sick during improper times with disdain.

She had lost so much thanks to them and all she wanted to do was get rid of all of them.

'If only you had given me a grandson. What is the point of keeping you with me when my son is already buried in the ground? I might as well just sell you and earn some money.'

After sorting out her greedy thoughts, the dark-skinned woman looked flatteringly at the wealthy lady and shamelessly answered, "Yes, I am selling them. I will sell the four of them to you," since the money was already there, why should she take it?

Upon hearing that, relief washed over Tapiwa. So, she opened her mouth once again and asked, "How much are you selling them for?"

Hearing such an open question, even the other villagers who had forgotten about their fellow villagers' shamelessness looked at her with envy.

Since when did people start being as generous as this?

The happiest was, of course, the dark-skinned woman. Grinning with yellow teeth that seemed to have not seen any water in a very long time, she answered very quickly, "For just five silver coins, you can have all of them!"

"What? Madam Sekai is truly shameless!"

"Exactly! Those four are so malnourished that they will need to see doctors first before even doing anything."

"How could she shamelessly ask for such a higher price?"

Even Chipo was baffled by the asking price. If they were in a city, and the people were healthy enough, it was understandable to pay for that amount of money.

In fact, the price was actually very cheap but now when looking at the four people in question, Tapiwa would need to spend a lot on medicine and that would be too much, especially for a slave.

Even Tapiwa was shocked by the turn of events. Was this woman taking her for a fool?

Sneering at the woman whilst taking more steps forward, while the villagers parted and created a path for her, Tapiwa coldly said, "Then you must want to spend a few years with them then. Those four looks like they will die any second. Why should I waste my hard-earned money just like that? If you really want to part with them seriously, then one silver coin and the deal is done. If you want anything more, then I will leave immediately. So, you take the deal or leave it!"

Chipo, hearing this, applauded inwardly for Tapiwa.

'I shouldn't have thought too much. My sister is still the most shameless one. Buying four people for a silver, isn't this too low?'

The dark-skinned woman who had set the price at a lower rate hoping that the other would automatically agree became so speechless upon hearing the price that she started yelling uncontrollably while throwing her hands all over the place, "Are you playing with me? Do you know how much money I spent on these four for you to tell me that little price?"

The villagers could only look embarrassingly at their fellow villager, who was acting like a shrew.

Tapiwa watched all this without a change of emotion in her face and after the woman finished yelling, several moments later, Tapiwa just sneered at her before pulling Chipo away.

And now everyone was quite taken aback upon seeing that very move.

The dark-skinned woman seeing her money tree going away, glared at her daughter-in-law and cursed her inwardly, her eyes red with fury.

"Haha, this is funny. Who would have thought that she would lose just like that?"

"Selling her hard-working daughter-in-law just because the four of them are sick, isn't she shameless?"

"She is already forgetting that everything she has now been all because of her daughter-in-law. With such a lazy son and daughter-in-law remaining at home, can she continue living in luxury after selling her away?"

Listening to the villagers talking, laughing, and mocking her, Madam Sekai felt so much hatred towards her daughter-in-law.

'Why was she sick? I could have sold them for so much money if it weren't for that.'

Madam Sekai also understood something. If she were to let the rich madam go without buying these four, there was no way she was going to find a willing buyer again in the future.

No buyer, even the slave traders that were becoming fewer as years went by was willing to buy sick goods. They were too expensive and they never do any business that would lead to losses.

'Even if I get less than I expected, it will still be a lot for my grandson to finish school and build a new house at home. As long as I watch these four of my hands, I can still accept it.'

The giant daughter-in-law watched with self-mockery as that familiar determination of her mother-in-law appeared on her face, 'she is really going to sell us!' she thought in her mind.

And surely, Madam Sekai, who would never allow money to slip through her fingers, suddenly dashed away, hurrying towards the two Madams who were in the middle of entering the carriage.

Seeing them entering, Madam Sekai understood fully that if that carriage were to leave, then everything else would fall apart.

Hurrying while trying her best to catch her breath, her eyes were on the price and goal, she looked very funny and desperate. And it was quite a sight for everyone that was watching.

"Big sister, are we going to leave?" Chipo asked worriedly upon seeing how Tapiwa was so relaxed even after seeing that the shameless woman was running towards them.

Without taking a peek outside, a sly smile appeared on Tapiwa's face as she said, "We will but not just the two of us but six. But before doing that, I am going to make that woman remember this very day and live the rest of her life with regret. Doesn't she love money so much? I will poke where it hurts the most!"

Chipo shivered as she listened to Tapiwa speaking like that.

'Just what kind of person are you, big sister?'
