3 An Unwanted Encounter

Aiden slumped over the counter, his brain completely fried. He closed his eyes and tried focus in an attempt to command his memory of this girl front and center. He thought about her figure as she walked away and swore he saw her glaring at him before she left. A glare that seemed to amplify not only her fierce demeanor, but the part of his mind that seemed to find things familiar. Nostalgic.

Where have I seen those eyes before?

Thoughts flushed his head, memories of an old scenary flooded his mind. School, restuarants, people ....then it him. Aiden immediately raised his whole body and slammed his arms to the counter. His eyes widened and in a flash he ran outside the store to chase after the girl who'd just left.

As he jolted up and out, he flayed his head furiously left and right trying to see which way she had gone. Luckily, he caught her just as the street light turned to a walk sign, and immediately raced to her before she could cross.

"WAIT!-" he shouted.

He grabbed her arm as if he was a child desperately looking for his mothers hand, and a sigh of relief escaped his mouth. Turning around, the woman looked shocked and her brows shifted from surprised to repulsion the second his face registered in her eyes. As Aiden paused for a second to catch his breath, the woman aggressively pulled her arms away.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?!"

Aiden gasped for air as he clutched his knees.

"I...huff.... I know you..." he let out in desperation.

He glanced up for a moment and saw the womans face seething with anger. More so than an average person would in a situation like this. Her face told that she held something against him, a grudge that had past its expiration date.

"You're....pant...Yuna!"

Her eyes stared at Aiden as if she was looking down at him in repungance and resentment. They maintained a brief moment of silent eye contact before the sounds of the city reentered their heads, and the blinking of the street lights registered in the womans mind again. Her face fuming with emotion almost quietly surrendered into an expression of calmness and apathy. With a subdued tone of loathing and fury, she responded to Aiden before turning and walking away.

"I have no idea who you are, but I better fucking not see you again."

Aiden stood there in shock, as he watched her figure slowly dissipate into the crowd. Losing the only hope he had for finding escape from his unbearable reality.
