168 Dragon Problems

Crynn POV

Apparently, seeing magic not working against me from afar, two dark wizards attempted to charge at me physical and muggle style, wow. I mean, are these guys out of their minds, can't they see that besides my wand, I also have two sabers holstered by my waist?! Lunatics the lot of them, they're all crazy!

Slash! One swipe, two necks wiped. What boggles me is that with the amount of blood spraying around, I hadn't been touch by a single smidge of it. That includes my saber because long clean cuts supposedly meant clean as my sword slices faster than the enemy's skin to separate and spurt out the red juice.

Hooh! I've made it in front of the raging black dragon, this is dangerous, very dangerous. Newt certainly is having fun, almost getting thrown off every second the dragon swayed its head. Seems to me like he's having a whole lot of trouble trying to break open the shackles entrapping the fierce dragon to servitude.

I had my experiences in rock climbing but I can't say I'm an expert climber at all. This is going to prove to be a difficult time climbing up a moving dragon by its bumpy scales and blunt protuberances. Three, two, one, jump! I made a running head start while counting the numbers in my head and took the leap of faith onto the dragon's lower tail.

Hold on tightly!!! I gripped some scales in fear, God! This is Goddamn terrifying! No! No! No! The dragon swept his wings downwards and then upwards. It quickly became clear that with a giant bounce from the ground, the dragon had flown into the air, what the f*cking piece of shit is this f*cking piece of shit?!

It's been a f*cking while since I've cursed so much but f*ck this! Ok, remember the basics of rock climbing. What's the basic of basics in the line of sport? That is climbing! One scale at a time, thankfully though, the dragon is flying in a breeze and with the constant reddish light that appeared in my peripheral vision, I can imagine the dragon to be busying itself throwing out fire.

After what felt like ages of careful grasps and movements, I've finally made it to the middle part of the dragon's large mass. And the middle section, I imagine to be much easier than climbing on either the lower parts of higher towards the head where I'm going. "Newt! You need help?!" I shouted out whilst climbing, the sweat is pilling up.

"Avter?! What are you doing here?" I'm here to f*cking help you out! "Firstly, call me Crynn or Cry, whatever you'd like. This diplomatic meet has become either a recruitment camp or a training exercise for Grindelwald's goons! I expected some top notch dark witches and wizards but what came were a bunch of amateurs mowed down by both countries' delegations' guards! The only matter worth bring to mind at this time is this Godforsaken dragon!"

After finishing, Newt pointed his wand at me and swiped it up as I felt my entire body being held up by gravity and moved towards where the servitude collar and chains are, directly next to Newt. "How are we supposed to get this collar off?!" Seeing as we're so high in atmosphere and the loud sounds of swaying wind, flipping wings and roaring dragons along with the battle below, I'm inclined to scream a lot.

"All of the usual spells doesn't work, too strong of a protective enchantment!" I don't know what these usual spells are but a strong protective enchantment doesn't sound good! But not to worry! I have my sabers which comes with a sweet magical cancellation ability and enchantments made of magic are based on magic.

"If I can break through the enchantment, can you take the collar off?!" That's a stupid question that would get me a yes but just to be sure. "Of course I bloody well can do it! Can you do it?!" Is Newt seriously doubting my ability?! I can't let this attack on my nonexistent honor slide past! I must prove my that my skills are not to be joked with.

"Where is this enchantment located on?!" This spree of screamings is really starting to strain on my poor throat! "These 3 runes! We must erase these three runes!" Newt rubbed his hand over three big runes painted by what I suppose to be blood based on the red color and pungent scent. Let's see... gash!

The sword inflicted damage to the ruins as the sound of cracking glass went into our ears as the runes began breaking apart but not enough yet! "What in Merlin's beard is that sword?!" Newt asked in shock as he saw how the runes hurt from the saber's impact. "Just a random powerful saber I managed to pick up along my journeys."

It's not entirely the truth but isn't a lie either, I just omitted some truths as Newt's jaws dropped at my nonchalant explanation. And hack! The second strike managed to almost put a complete break in the runes as more glassy cracking appear as the runes slowly drift apart. The third time and always the last and best time! Crack! Crack! Crack! Boosh!

The runes exploded in multiple colored lines of rainbow pixie dust as the protective enchantment is no longer present. "Haha!!! You did it! I'll owe you a favor, Crynn!" A favor from futurely massive and influential magizoologist, Newt Scamander?! That's a gift I would very much gladly accept with all my open hands, arms and heart.

"Be free!" Newt cried out happily as he ripped the collar off the dragon's neck, tossing it away and into the ocean! The moment the collar is took off, the dragon stopped spewing out fire and began to slowly glide down, no longer attacking anyone. Newt went and climbed up its head as he comfortably patted the dragon's head lovingly.

The dragon gratefully reciprocates as it graciously accepted the patting with harmless eyes, crisis averted.
