24 The Adorable Moondevil

The little fellow was getting very anxious!

There was a group of bad guys running after it relentlessly, so it had no choice but to keep running. But for some reason, as it ran, it felt that there was strange energy coming from this direction that made it want to come closer, so it decided to run this way.

It felt that the energy attracting it kept growing stronger, coming closer.

Then it spotted a white figure, and its instincts told it that this was the correct person… With a mighty leap, it jumped right onto Qingcheng.

Actually, it wasn't that Qingcheng didn't react. She had gone into a daze when she finally looked carefully at the little fellow.

That was because this little fellow reminded her of her dog.

In her previous life, her dog looked very much like this when she first saw it. It was white and furry all over with wet, black eyes that looked like two grapes. But this little fellow had brighter white fur, and its tail was longer.

But! It actually spoke like a human too!

Qingcheng snapped out of her daze and looked at it seriously. This was a small, young fox, and it was incredibly adorable. It was now exuding a fatal charm through its black, grape-looking eyes, and she couldn't help but feel her heart melt. Her gaze became gentler, and she cuddled it in her arms while using one of her pretty hands to stroke the little fellow's fur.

The initially frantic little fox felt safe inside now. It felt so comfortable in Qingcheng's arms.

It took a small breath and realized Qingcheng smelled so good. This fairy-like lady was not only drop-dead gorgeous, but even her smell was extremely pleasant…the fox started feeling a little drunk now.

Just when the little fox felt heavy-headed and was about to sleep, Qingcheng finally broke her silence.

Her voice was pleasant and lovely to the ears. "What's your name? Is someone chasing after you? You said your mother's gone missing. Do you know where she is?"

She couldn't help but think of her dog even though they didn't look exactly the same. But she also couldn't resist cuddling such an adorable little thing.

The little fox felt warm and fuzzy inside when it heard her voice and really wanted to sleep, but there was someone who wouldn't let it have its way.

Like…Tealwood.

Tealwood was a little shocked to see Qingcheng's attitude take a 180-degree turn almost instantly.

He wondered, "So Master can be this gentle?!"

The little fox looked like it was enjoying itself so much. Tealwood looked at how it was just nestling in Qingcheng's arms with that irritating look on its face and felt like throwing the little fellow far away.

"AHEM! Little fox! She's asking you a question! How could you fall asleep?!"

Tealwood reached a hand out and flicked its head to snap it out of its daze.

It looked up sadly at Qingcheng, and Qingcheng glared at Tealwood.

Tealwood glared at the little fox and then awkwardly took his hand back. He was extremely displeased and thought to himself, "D*mned little fox! When Master isn't around, I'll teach you a lesson!"

The little fox fluttered its large eyes and looked at Qingcheng as it said, "Pretty fairy sister…I have no name…and I don't know where my mother has gone. I was hungry, so I was trying to look for something to eat in the forest, but a group of people suddenly appeared out of nowhere. One of them was a very ugly woman who said that she wanted to capture me and make me her Magical Pet. I didn't want to, so I just kept running and running. Later, I felt that there was an energy that was calling out to me, and I followed that energy. Then I ran into you."

After saying that, it curled its front paws to make itself look even more adorable. Tealwood noticed this and couldn't help but roll his eyes. What a shameless fox!

Qingcheng saw how this was such an impossibly adorable yet sentient little fox, and her heart melted.

Her lips curled upward slightly. "Then you can follow me from now on! If you find your mother, you can leave if you want to. How's that?"

The little fox was completely mesmerized by Qingcheng's faint smile and immediately nodded in agreement.

"Sure! Okay! Thank you, fairy sister!" It cheerily clapped its little paws together. It was more than happy that Qingcheng let it stay with her. It wasn't sure why, either, but there was something about Qingcheng that made it want to be close to her.

Tealwood was instantly annoyed. This little fellow was really good at licking Master's boots! This fellow was going to be a burden to Master for sure! Besides, did Master actually smile at that fellow? That wasn't fair at all!

Tealwood was so jealous, but he could only sulk on the inside and wasn't able to protest.

"My name is Qingcheng, and I'll call you Moondevil, then!" Qingcheng's lips curled upward again.

Her smile was so dazzling that both Tealwood and the little fox felt like they were about to faint.

Tealwood howled inside his heart, "What's going on with Master today? Why is she in such a good mood?" Tealwood went into a daze just looking at her.

Moondevil happily nodded. "Yay! Moondevil has a name now!" It happily bounced about in Qingcheng's arms, and it made Qingcheng very happy too.

Qingcheng asked, "Moondevil, you said someone was trying to capture you, and there are people running after you?"

Moondevil suddenly remembered them. That's right! Those people were chasing after it and would be there any moment now!

"Qingcheng…those people are really awful! That woman is barbaric and super ugly! My leg was injured by one of her men…" Moondevil put on a rather pitiful expression.

Qingcheng lifted its hind leg to take a look. There was a one centimeter cut on its back right leg, and it had lost another bit of flesh elsewhere too. Qingcheng immediately felt a rage rising inside her when she saw this. She was distracted by how adorable it was earlier and didn't notice that it was hurt. She felt so bad for the little fox.

A small bottle appeared in her hand, and she poured the water inside all over Moondevil's wounds. They started to heal up and scab over.

Tealwood was already immune to how his Master would do something magical from time to time, but Moondevil couldn't believe its eyes. "That's amazing! My leg doesn't hurt anymore, my wounds aren't bleeding anymore, and a scab has formed! Qingcheng! You're simply amazing! Can I marry you?" Moondevil's bright and sparkly eyes were filled with adoration for Qingcheng.

Qingcheng calmly replied, "All right now, as long as it doesn't hurt anymore. Forget about marrying me. The ones who were chasing after you are here." Her gaze turned cold, and an icy light flashed in her eyes.

She placed the bottle back in the interspace, and a thin yet intricate white jade mask appeared in her right hand. She put it on, and her breathtakingly beautiful face was covered by the mask. It only revealed her phoenix-shaped eyes that sparkled like the stars and her clean and exquisite little chin.

However, even though her face was covered, there was no way anybody could ignore that otherworldly aura she gave off.

Her slim and petite figure, her long and untainted fairy-like dress, her waist-length jet-black hair, and the strands that danced in the wind made one extremely curious about how much more beautiful the face under the mask must be.

Even Tealwood, who had seen her in all sorts of clothes, couldn't help but take a second look at her.

Moondevil happily nudged Qingcheng's arm and displayed its cuteness. The ones who had been chasing after it had arrived.

The first group of eight that arrived were all men. They all looked like they were in their thirties, and their cultivation levels ranged from Spiritualist Fifth Tier to Spirit Mentor Sixth Tier.

After that, more people arrived. There were two middle-aged men, another two men who looked around twenty, and a younger lady who looked around sixteen or seventeen.

Qingcheng continued to hold onto Moondevil calmly and glanced at the group in front of her nonchalantly without saying anything. Tealwood looked disdainfully at this group and remained by Qingcheng's side with an equally nonchalant look on his face.

The group had come running over aggressively, but when they saw these two in front of them, they all came to a stop and didn't attack immediately.
