1 Chapter One: Introduction

Our story begins in the year 2032 after the nuclear war which occurred between the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Asian Continental Military Force. All civilizations across the world were destroyed within minutes as hundreds of millions were incinerated in nuclear fire and billions more died from the radiation sickness, anarchy, and horrid living conditions that ensued. Most of the world had been turned into a radioactive wasteland, but as humans so often do, they survived this war albeit as an endangered species with a tendency to kill itself off over the smallest things. During this time, the United States Civilization Preservation Force was created, followed by the Civilian Defense Front. The USCPF are dedicated to eliminating the mutant threat, restoring the American civilization back to power, and to rebuilding the once great nation of America. The CDF was formed a few years after the creation of the USCPF. The goals of the CDF were simply to protect and aid civilians.

But the true story begins in 2055 in a land called Lake Mead Arizona with a man named Nathan "Nate" Barren, Nate is around 30 or 40 years old, but no one really knows his age. Not even his own brother named Chris. Nate walked across the Arizona sand with a pistol in his holster and holding his T91 assault rifle he once found to replace his old Single-shot rifle.

He was approaching a town called Craterview, Craterview is a small scrap town in the middle of Lake Mead Arizona. Many People inhabited it because it was one of the fewer places people trade and train, it also has places to sleep. But at a price that is a bit too expensive for most people...well...it depends on who is running the front desk, Nate walked up to the "Checking booth" To make sure he isn't a raider. The CV guard looked at him and said: "Hello sir, please give me your guns so you can go inside." The CV guard was somewhat intimidated by Nate. Nate wore a short-sleeved hoodie, a backpack, a knife strapped to his ankle, and a Gasmask with a helmet that he never really removed.

"No," Nate responded to the guard. The guard remained quiet as Nate walked through the gate. I don't trust this god damn place Nate thought as he gripped his rifle a bit tighter. People were walking around, talking, arguing, selling, and buying. Nate walked slowly as many people saw this Wastelander and looked away trying not to stare for too long.

Nate approached a stand, he wanted to purchase some things. "Hello, sir how may I help you today!" the Trader said happily.

Nate looked at him and said, "I need Ammo, FN 509 tactical and T91 Assault Rifle." The Trader raised an eyebrow at him. "Uh...Okay…" The Trader muttered to himself as he walked to the back of the room and bulled out dusty ammo boxes and sets them on the counter in front of Nate. "That will be 2 dollars," The trader said with a smirk. Nate looked up at him with a dark essence around him. "75 cents, I'll pay no more," Nate said in a daringly deep voice.

The Trader widened his eyes at the sudden intimidation. "95 cents…" The trader said nervously. "75 cents," Nate said to the trader. The trader said with absolute fear "Then find somewhere else to buy a-" Before the Trader finished, Nate grabbed his shirt and nearly pulled him across the counter. Nate leaned next to the traders head and whispered "75 cents"

The Trader then said "c-can you do 50 cents?" And Nate nodded and let him go. "I can do 50" Nate...now seemed like a nice guy. Nate paid and started walking off with ammo, smiling under his mask.
