1 Before Joining That Server

Chapter 1: Before Joining That Server

I wonder ..., what would you do if you get a chance to reincarnate as somebody else in someplace that foreign to you? What if, you got hit by a container truck and got isekai'd into some fantasy world? What will you do?

Will you restart your life and forget everything about your past life? No, that's the wrong question ..., can you. Can you let go of all of your past life if you had another chance to reincarnate?

Amamiya Hazuki, the name of this body. Living pretty well in his first 15 years of life before he got an accident that led the poor boy to his death. With the loss of his soul, his body became an empty husk for me to reside. And since then, I become Hazuki.

As you might have guessed, Hazuki is Japanese. But surprisingly, this is not the Japanese one I know. Or maybe, this earth itself is different from my previous earth.

Well, first of all, the people here have unique hair colors. And by unique I mean very unique, deep crimson, turquoise, indigo, pink, orange, you name it and the color definitely exists somewhere. They have literally every color from the spectrum as hair color. I am curious how it looks down there.

In fact, something that will look very natural back on my previous earth like black, blonde, or brown hair is pretty rare in this world. They are pretty much-endangered species.

And luckily, the Amamiya family was one of them ... they called it Amamiya the Dark. The nickname is cringe as fuck, but that's how people called the member of my family. As one of the old noble family in Japan, Amamiya has strict rules regulating their bloodline. The prospective son/daughter-in-law of Amamiya must have at the very least dark-colored hair. With how scarce that was, marriage between cousins is a very common occurrence.

I don't know why they did something like that, Eugenic is cruel and inhumane. Oh wait, actually ..., I knew why they did that. Yep, there's actually a reason for this selective breeding exclusive for human to happen in some big family. And I will talk about that after explaining this next part.

Magic, it's a thing in this place and a source of power to humans. Though it wasn't spread out to the majority of the population, big clans and families like mine knew about it and made their kids learn it. And that's how the selective breeding program comes into being. It happened in order to keep the lineage stay strong and pure for the family secret spell.

But, does magic has anything to do with having black hair? Nope, not exactly related, but the elemental affinity of a person could be determined by the color of their hair. Yup, in a sense this world is a strange magical world version of earth where real-life people have anime hair.

No, perhaps it's more than that. I noticed that some of them have the same name and characteristics as some actual characters from anime.

Alright, so that's basically the gist of this world as far as I know. Other things are irrelevant because most of them are somehow similar to my previous earth. Yeah, this world still has computer, smartphone, internet, etc.

Back to the opening paragraph in this story, why I suddenly have an existential crisis?

I'm someone who lived his second life in an anime world. But how the hell I end up in this kind of messed-up family. Alright, I'm just grumbling here. But really, compared to living as a scion of big family ..., I prefer being the last son of an ordinary family like how it was in my past life.

Big clan's suck, you have to follow some rules here and there and had to always put a mask of 'nice and amiable guy' in front of the public. What's more, my whole life is tied to the clan, therefore I need to sacrifice myself for the clan. And that's exactly what pisses me off right now. With all their overbearing dictatorship organization, I was considering cutting all ties with the Amamiya clan and running far away from this place.

It's all started back in the morning. My dear uncle patriarch whom I see once in a year suddenly called me for a conversation.

--- -_- ---

"Next week will be your first day in highschool, how is your preparation?"

"I ..., don't think there's anything worthy of my attention that I need to prepare it myself. It's just the first day of highschool. In fact, if I could be presumptuous, Uncle Kazuhiro, I might as well try the acceleration program and enter college on the next spring." as a Bachelor of Engineering in Nanotechnology, passing the highschool in a year is not that hard.

"You should enjoy your time in highschool. That time of youth is simply priceless. You can't get a second chance when you grow up. Just relax and enjoy your next three years with your friends." my uncle patriarch advised me kindly. "But I did not call you here to talk about something trivial like that."

I took a sip of the tea, it's bitter tea and bland. Why my uncle likes to drink something that has less sugar.

"I called you here because there's something I need to inform you. First of all, the Togo family visited our clan. And they had a proposal that will bring benefits to both of our clans. I couldn't ignore the deal and agree with it."

"... I can't see myself in the picture. I simply never cared about what you did, uncle. Deals with other clans, please ..., do I look like I care about it?"

"As blunt as always, you should stop being rude to your elder, Hazuki." uncle Kazuhiro sipped his tea while closing his eyes and smiled wryly. "I was about to explain why I called you. See, to solidify this partnership ..., I proposed Togo clan to betroth our clan's younger generation. Togo patriarch has a daughter similar to your age. Her name is Togo Hifumi, you should've known her, she's quite famous in some circle."

"Hold up, wait a minute ..., don't tell me you betrothed me with her?"

"You are correct. No one else is more suitable than you. Your elder cousins are all betrothed to someone else, and I can't possibly betroth a patriarch's daughter to some kids from branch family. You are my brother's son, and candidate for the next patriarch, so you are eligible."

--- -_- ---

And that's some flashback of how a conversation ruined my day. After that, I tried to reject vehemently the notion of having this so-called fiancee.

I mean come on, it's not that I hate having a beautiful girl with me around, but what I hate is the one-sidedness of the clan that left me out of the decision. It's like they didn't treat me as human. I left angrily after failing miserably as my argument was all countered by the damn uncle.

"Togo Hifumi ..."

I muttered the name and opened a new tab on my browser and typed it. I always had this feeling that I've heard her name somewhere, but I couldn't just recall where or when is it. But the search result is much more bizarre than I originally thought.

The search results were pictures of a beautiful girl with long dark brown hair with bangs, dark green eyes, and wearing a red hair accessory resembling a rope with a three-leaf clover. Her face is very pretty, as expected of the anime world. I've been numbed by how unrealistically beautiful the people of this world are, and yet she surprised me. Togo Hifumi is a perfect depiction of a traditional princess.

I then read many news articles about her.

[Winner of 20XX Junior Shogi Competition], [The Birth of Venus of Shogi], [Too Beautiful Shogi Player], [Rigged Match: Is the Venus of Shogi Unbeatable or is it Cheating]

I read titles after titles and suddenly remembered who she actually is. Togo Hifumi, if my memories are correct, then she should be one of the supporting characters from the game Persona 5.

'To think there's also Persona 5 in this world ..., just how messed up is this place, really." I muttered, feeling hopeless.

Me finding out that this world is an anime world is purely coincidental. Six days after my transmigration, I was finally discharged from the hospital. That was until I saw the big advertisement on the billboard.

The billboard ad is about the new release of the Elemental Symphony of Vogelchevalier light novel. Now, if you don't even know what that is then don't panic, because I also don't remember much about it. But Selesia Uptiria, the red-haired girl in that novel is the first Creation summoned into the earth in Re:Creator.

That's how I found out that I'm in the anime world. But the more I spent my time in this world, the more confused I become.

For once, some later time after I got discharged. My uncle sent me to a banquet party as a delegation from our clan, the one who invites is the Natsukawa family. The Natsukawa is not some old noble family, they are newly emerging successful businesses in the country. Although, they are quite important it's not too important that needed Amamiya patriarch personal attention.

I thought nothing could surprise me that night. I planned to grab some food and drinks before quietly leaving as I'm not interested in a social gathering like this. But who would've expected to see another anime character in this banquet?

The party is to celebrate Natsukawa Masuzu who just returned from Sweden. I immediately recognized her despite my somewhat unreliable memory. Masuzu is the main heroines of Oreshura. One of romcom anime which I honestly forget after watching it.

She is an extremely beautiful fair-skinned girl with deep blue eyes, straight waist-length silver hair, and bangs that fall just above her eyes. Indeed, the northern snow really had an effect on her. Seems impossible to have that skin tone around here, unless you're living your whole life in Hokkaido or something.

If one of those characters in anime exists, then the others surely existed somewhere in the world. With that as a conjecture, I started searching up names after names that I remembered from the anime and matched it with the database from the government census.

In the end, not only I've found the other characters from Oreshura. I also found some character who matches other anime. I've found Itsuki from Imouto Sae Ireba Ii, Masamune from Eromanga, and Masamune-kun no Revenge (yeah, they have the same given name, so I found them both at the same time). The Nakano quintuplet from Go-toubun.

Heck there's also three of the four edgy characters that became some sort of role model for all weebs out there. Starting from Oreki from Hyouka, Hachiman from Oregairu, and then Sakuta from Bunny Girl Senpai.

I tried to find the last edgy character by the name Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, however, none was found. Still, I knew that Advanced Nurturing High School existed, can't really ignore some 600.000 sqm artificial islands. Oh well, maybe the last edgy lord is still trying to escape from that White Room or something. After all, I've found that Horikita Suzune is still with her family. And coincidentally, she's of the same age as me.

"Hazuki-sama, it's time for dinner." my personal maid Risa called out.

"Oh, it's that time already."

I closed the browser and saved the project I'm working on before walking to the dining room with Risa following me from behind. When I arrived, I saw Alicia standing beside my chair with a stoic expression.

"Evening, Miss Alicia. What's on the menu for tonight?" I greeted her and asked.

In this mansion, it was just me and my two personal maids. Risa and Alicia were the ones taking care of me and this mansion after my parents died.

Risa is a beautiful woman in her late 20s with waist-length violet hair adorned with a maid headdress and butterfly hair accessory. She has blue eyes and luscious plump lips. I always saw her wearing the French maid dress with black stockings. She likes to tease me that it's frustrating, I'm a virgin in my last life by the way. And getting teased by sexy older women is my bane.

Alicia's beauty is also out of the world, she was about the same age as Risa. She has drill-curl golden hair, the so-called ojousama hairstyle, funny because she's my maid and not some ojousama. She has pretty green eyes and wore red-rimmed glasses. Though she always put on a serious and stern face, sometimes I saw the care and hidden worry from her eyes.

There's the time when I doubted them. After all, with their body and looks alone, they could work as a model. And so, why in the world, they become my personal maid. Just how rich my late parents, really.

"I have prepared Eggplant Miso, Mushroom Tempura, and also Daikon Salad. Please help yourself, Master." Alicia said with her usual neutral tone.

But something clicked on me at that very moment. Especially when she said that last sentence. She said 'Takusan Meshiagare, Goshujin-sama' ..., and I felt that I heard that somewhere in my past life. But where? Are my two maids also characters of some anime?

"Is there something wrong, Hazuki-sama?" Risa asked with a hint of puzzlement, worry apparent on her face. I didn't realize I just stopped and stare blankly in that short moment.

"No, nothing ..." I shook my head and took the chopstick. "Itadakimasu."

As usual, it tastes great. "Delicious." I complimented, gaining a small smile from Alicia.

"Hazuki-sama, I've heard that you will be betrothed," Risa asked

"You've heard? That's fast ..., yeah, apparently the clan want to make a firm relationship with Togo clan through this engagement."

"I see ..., congratulation," she said, but her tone didn't have any congratulatory feeling to it at all.

"Don't think too much about it. I honestly don't like the notion of arranged marriage. And I believe that Togo Hifumi will think the same as me. I'll try to talk it out with her when I meet her."

"Does Hazuki-sama did not like your arranged partner?" asked Alicia.

"It's too soon talking about liking and all, I never meet her in person so how would I know. And besides, I know about her from the internet just now. She's beautiful, yes I admit that but who knows what she truly is ..., personality wise."

I know her character back in the game, she's an ambitious and clever young lady. Despite her mother manipulating behind the scene in order to make her a famous idol-like shogi player. She really is talented with the game and loves challenging her opponents with her full strength.

"..." they both went silent and didn't ask any further.

I continued my dinner and returned to my room after I finished. I stared at my PC once again. I saw there's a new email notification and opened the mail application.

It's an email from an unknown domain, from sayaentodkamu69@void.dc. Now I swear I don't know what this domain represent, so my first thought is that this mail might be a spam. But I was curious on who sent this and what's the content, so I didn't immediately delete it and opened the mail.
