[ Did you guys sign up? Hurry up, the slots are only limited to 20 registries per day! ]

[ And we only have a month left before they close the registration! ]

[ This sucks! I would register if it weren't for our upcoming midterms on that day! ]

[ This sucks +1 ]

[ This sucks +2 ]

[ This sucks +3 ]

[ Maybe this is the strategy of the Alliance. You know, so that fewer players would join the competition ]

[ I agree with the person upstairs! Do they have to put it on the day of the competition when most schools are preparing for their midterm exams? ]

[ You could still join the game, though? Just finish your exam early ]

[ The commentator above, are you hearing yourself? ]

[ Damn these geniuses! ]

The comment section below the alliance's post rapidly gained popularity, reaching the Top 50 trending posts on Galactic Network within just 4 and a half hours. Galactic Network is a widely-used social media app, popular among netizens both locally and across planets. It offers features such as video and image sharing, free messaging and calling, and even serves as a platform for marketing.

Throughout the night, its popularity steadily increased, eventually securing a spot in the top ten. This garnered significant attention from onlookers, with some expressing excitement about participating, others lamenting their delayed registration forms, and many eagerly discussing the anticipated difficulty of the upcoming instance.

While Orcus had fame, the anticipation among fans was often centered around the players taking part in the competition. Each guild had its dedicated fanbase, surpassing the average following of artists in the entertainment industry. Guilds with robust and skilled members garnered attention and enthusiasm from the public, essentially turning them into celebrities.

Snow was leisurely scrolling through her master's e-Watch; an IoT device that is in a form of watch. It has multiple functions similar to a phone's uses during the Ancient Earth, but it's more advance. For example, because it has a small screen, there's a holographic function that can be manually change to be seen only by the owner; it can be connected to different IoT devices and appliances; and it also has a high and strict security that wards off potential hackers.

This might seem too good to be true, but in the New Earth, once-impossible ideas can now become a reality.

While browsing through the Galactic Network, our little owl stumbles upon the post since it has long been pushed into the recommendation section.

"Master, Master, Master, aren't you going to participate in the competition, too?" Because he was so excited, instead of flying over, he ran as fast as he could with his two feet.

Si Fan was in the middle of grooming Luna when he noticed his family's owl sauntering over with his device. He swept him up from the floor and into the table next to him. He looks so cute while trying to carry the e-Watch carefully and running at the same time.

"Be careful, Snow," He took the watch and set it aside. He glanced at the screen and immediately knew what Snow was talking about.

"What competition?" Luna asks curiously. "Whatever it is, our master can defeat them, no problem."

Si Fan's lips bend upwards helplessly, "I have already registered earlier." Fortunately, he managed to get one slot before the rest was quickly taken by others.

Being a complete newcomer to the game, it's astonishing that he's entering a competition where his fellow participants are significantly more skilled than he is. He doesn't have any items and no guilds to back him up. Overall, his chances of reaching the finals were slim to none.

Nonetheless, the finals was not his goal. It was an open secret among players that anyone who participated the game, whether they lose or win, would get an additional rewards from the Orcus itself. Even if they're just bronze or silver coins, it can still be converted into money.

"Master will win this for sure!" Snow said with unshakable confidence.

"But of course, he's our master," Luna scoffed. For once, she agreed with the dumb owl.

Si Fan: "....." His family's confidence is too pressuring.

Luna: "Anyone who underestimates our master shall suffer the wrath of my claws!"

Snow nods in agreement: "I'll beak them to death!"

Si Fan: "....." So vicious.

After grooming his cat, Si Fan took a bath, clothed himself, and readied the agreement form. He told Luna and Snow to behave inside while he was away. The two were reluctant to stay and wanted to go with him, but Si Fan patiently coaxed them to stay put and he would bring them their favorite food.

The bribery was tempting and so, with reluctancy they sulkily waited for their master to come back.

Upon Si Fan's arrival at the principal's office, he noticed a handful of students already waiting outside. Some arrived in small groups of two or three, while others, like him, were alone. He positioned himself a few feet away from the two girls standing near the door.

The principal said to bring the forms at 1:30 in the afternoon since the faculty's break would finish at 1:00 p.m. Judging from the closed door and the amount of students outside, it's either the principal hasn't come back yet or he's talking someone inside. Otherwise, he would have let the students in.

Si Fan's guesses are answered when the door opens and Teacher Wen, the third year's Literature teacher, comes out carrying a stack of paper. He caught a glimpse of the word 'EXAM' and concluded that it was the test papers for their midterm exams.

Everyone greeted him as he passed by, and true to his aloof character, he merely nodded at them. As soon as he was out of sight, the girls started gossiping.

"Teacher Wen is so cool and handsome~"

"I know right? He even has a nice voice, sigh~"

"Too bad he's already taken."

"I saw his girlfriend once, she's beautiful! And, and, it was the first time I saw Teacher Wen smile!"

"Really? Why didn't you tell me sooner?!"

Walking past them, Si Fan entered the office and handed over the form in his hands. After politely bidding the principal a farewell, he walked out of the office and headed to the canteen to buy the favorite food of his pets.
