18 The Snow Legion & Prison Break
Night after night passes It's getting colder and colder. On the last night the campfire barely keeps them warm so they sit back to back with a blanket wrapping around them. "Dammit I remember this hike I forgot how much it sucked." Argus says. "Yeah it's cold just deal with." Nova says.
Argus sighs he glances at Ash and Lilly. "how are you two holding up?" He asks. "I'm nice and warm." Lilly says. Argus and Nova look at them. "What do you mean?" Argus asks.
"Ash is nice and warm." She says. Immediately Argus and Nova get up and they huddle around Ash and Lilly they sit in a plus shape with blankets around them. "Ahhh this is better." Argus says. "Hey I'm not a heater." Ash says.
"You are now." Argus says warming up. Ash sighs she feels like she's being squashed she feels everyone leaning against her.
The next morning snow starts falling fast and the wind howls in a strange way waking everyone up. "There's a Snow Legion." Argus says waking everyone up from their drowsiness.
"What's a snow legion?" Ash and Lilly ask. "It's like a giant fox but a snow one controls ice magic." Nova says.
"There's also only 1 legion for an element. It's a legendary beast." Argus adds.
They see purple eyes staring at them. Then a wave of ice needles blasts towards them. After evading the sharp icicles Argus sends a wind strike at it but it hits nothing.
"Why is it attacking?" Lilly asks. "I don't know their supposed to keep to themselves." Argus says.
Suddenly the beast leaps out showing itself. Everyone is stunned. "Wha… I don't even…" Argus is lost for words seeing the Small white and silver fox no bigger than a house cat.
"That's a snow legion?" Ash asks. "A small one?" Nova says. Then they hear a voice come from the fox.
"Where is it?" The legion says in a cute voice.
"What?" Argus asks. "Graah don't play dumb." It says shooting icicles again. Argus blasts the icicles away. This shocks the legion. "Even my power has been reduced." It says
"What are you talking about?" Argus asks. "Wait your not the one who took it." It says walking up to the group.
Argus gets on a knee "so what happened?"
"My Flash Freeze Core it's been stolen." It says. "You had a flash freeze core? Wait Argus where'd you get that Hellfire core from."
Ash asks. "From a Fire Legion." He says.
"The only way to get a core from a legion is to kill it."
"Wait you killed the fire legion?" The snow legion asks.
"Yes…" Argus says. "Oh man that awesome you must be pretty strong to have killed Brigit. By the way my name is Beira The Snow Legion." Beira says.
"Hello Beira I'm Lilly." "Argus" "My name is Quasar but call me nova." "I'm Ash." They all introduce themselves to Beira.
"So Beira how did someone take your core without killing you?" Argus asks. "Well they got a few lucky hits on me but after I killed one the other used a crazy Sword Art and next thing I know I'm a shrimp of a legion." Beira says.
"Hmm remember what he looked like?" Argus asks.
"It was an old guy I think the one I killed said "Cyrus Help me" so I guess Cyrus." Beira says.
"Cyrus huh well Beira we're heading to Eris now to "see" Cyrus so you can tag along if you want." Argus says. "Even though I'm a Legion a furious beast who's killed many in my many lives." Beira says.
"Believe me I've been around for over 300 years I've killed too many people." Argus says.
"Hmmph I've been around since creation I've killed millions." Beira says trying to be better than Argus.
"Hahaha Sure you have." Argus says mocking her.
"Grrr you don't believe me?" "nope because legions keep to themselves and hardly attack people." Argus says.
Embarrassed Beira looks at the ground. "I I I... " she sighs "okay you got me I've only killed a few times."
"Well keep up house cat." Argus says mockingly and he starts to walk away.
"Grrr WHATTT" Beira runs and jumps on Argus's Shoulder "I am not a cat I'm a legion."
Argus and Beira fight with each other as they walk. Everyone is shocked how Argus is treating this legendary beast.
They finally make it to Eris. Beira is still on Argus's shoulder but instead of fighting their laughing telling stories. Argus has made a new best friend. Everyone else is tired of hearing their stories.
A Knight at the gate greets them. "Halt no one can enter this kingdom right now." He says. "Oh after so long I can't return here." Argus says. "Who are you?" "Well if you know this kingdoms history I'm Argus."
"Argus. Lord Crimson. You. My grandfather told me about you." The Knight looks around then motions them in.
After entering the Guard station The Knight starts to tell them about Cyrus. "I got put on gate duty because I spoke up. You see he's keeping the old ruler Lisa locked in the dungeon underneath the castle. My grandfather told me about Lisa how she is a loving person who only wanted peace."
"She still alive?" Argus asks. "Yeah she stopped aging because of you or at least that's what she said." The Knight says
"Oh right… I used a regeneration potion on her eternal body." Argus remembers. "Well I wasn't too good at changing eternal body's back then." He says embarrassed.
"Ash you see I told you it's dangerous." Nova says. "Umm yeah but Argus did it and it turned out fine." She says but the Knight doesn't hear her.
"So what is Cyrus doing now?" Argus asks.
"He hunted a snow legion and he obtained its core he's having it forged into his blade. So he doesn't want anyone to enter the kingdom while he's gone." The Knight says.
"Hey Nova go find a place to stay and take everyone with you." Argus says. "Where are you going?" Nova asks. "Prison break."
"Sir Argus you're going to rescue Lisa?" The Knight asks.
"Hell yeah I am. But we're going to need a place to stay right?" He says.
"Alright we'll find a place." Nova says. "What about my core?" Beira asks. "We'll get it back but first we need to face Cyrus but he's not here so we wait." Argus says.
"what is that thing?" the Knight asks. "oh that's the Snow Legion." Argus says. The Knight seems startled but Beira continues.
"I see. Okay but I'm going with you." Beira says. "Fine." "I can get you into the castle." The Knight says.
"Great let's go" Argus says.
They split up Quasar, Ash, and Lilly go find an Inn to stay at. While Argus, Beira and the Knight heads to the castle.
"My names Nile." The Knight says as they run through the busy streets of Eris.
Finally they arrive at the castle but it's under heavy Guard. "Halt Nile who is this?" A Knight asks. "Um he's from another kingdom he wanted to talk to lord Cyrus I told him he's not here but he won't take no for an answer." Nile says. "Hmm so he's an ambassador?" "Yes…." Nile says unconfidently. "Then he should have a rune with the kingdoms crest on it. So let me see it." The Knight says. "Oh…." Nile says. "Fine" Argus says and pulls out the Kyzan Rune. "Oh I see you really are an ambassador my apologies please come in Cyrus should be back tonight hopefully." The Knight says.
"I'll lead him in." Nile says. "Whatever."
They head in the castle. "Damn we lucked out." Nile says. "You suck at lying." Beira says. "Yeah what was that? You cracked so easily." Argus says. "I panicked okay."
They go to the dungeon. "Shift change." Nile says to the guard. "But it's only been 40 minutes since my shift started." The guard says confused. "Hey I was ordered to come here." Nile says. "Well okay then I hate guarding her I feel to bad." The guard says. "Whatever just go." Nile says way more confident than before.
The guard leaves and Nile goes to the cell. "Lady Lisa you have a guest." Nile says. "Nile thank you for the food." Lisa whispers feeling better after eating proper meals for the last couple weeks. "Lisa." Argus says looking at her.
Her dull eyes start to shine and tear up "Argus?" She says crying. "Watch out." He says. And uses a wind strike to cut the old steel bars. Once they fall Lisa hugs Argus still in shock. "You look the same as you did before." Lisa says. "You as well." Argus says. "I'm going to need you to fill me in on what happened later but for now we need to leave." Argus says.
"Argus Guards are coming." Beira says. "Let's go." Argus opens a gate and the four of them teleport to the city gates.
