2 So This is A Human City and Great Food

The outskirts of the Kyzan Kingdom

After Argus snapped his fingers they see a green forest surrounding them. "This is... The forest by the west gate." Gaz says. Argus takes a deep breath "ah it's been awhile since I've been in a forest." "oh yeah." Meldy says. "Yeah last time I was in a forest like this I burned it down." Argus says. "Did you burn down a forest in the central empire a few years ago?" Gaz asks. "Yeah that was me I was testing a magic spell." "What made you change surely boredom couldn't change your heart?" Meldy asks. "while I use to find joy from destruction and death after doing it for so long it's just repetitive. I mean if you burn down one village it's going to be same no matter how many time you do it." Argus tells them how it is.

They walk towards the city's gate carrying the three dead bodies that use to be comrades.

There's a gloomy atmosphere surrounding Gaz and Meldy as they walk. Argus wants to say something but feels he'd go too far so he stays quiet. As they approach the gate posted soldiers rush over. "Sir Gaz Lady Meldy you've returned." Then the soldier sees the bodies and falls silent. He then looks at Argus. "Sir Gaz Who is this man?" Gaz has a conflicted look on his face unsure how to reply. "He's our new comrade." Meldy spoke up. "I see." A knight said. "Without him we wouldn't have made it back here alive." She says to the knight. "I'll send word to the king but first did you kill the demon lord?" Asked the knight "I'd say he's out of commission for now even if he recovers I doubt he'd pose a threat." Argus says. The knight stares into Argus' crimson eye's. Then he immediately looks somewhere else when he senses a dangerous aura. "Well I won't hold you up anymore. Leave the fallen to us.

Meldy and Gaz give there thanks and they enter the kingdom with Argus. After walking down the main street for a minutes Argus finally speaks to break this silence. "So this is what a human city is like it's bigger than those small villages." "This is the second largest Kingdom on this continent." Gaz says. "Does that mean your academy is the second best as well." Argus says with a hint of mockery. "Well not exactly we're the fourth best academy." Meldy says embarrassed. "With teachers like you I'm not surprised." Argus takes another jab at them.

As they keep walking down the street people keep staring at Argus and his unique black and dark purple robe. "Why do humans always stare at me like this hey Meldy Gaz do I look strange or is there something on my robe.?" Unsure how to respond at that silly question. They both let out a laugh "pfffft um you just stand out that's all." Meldy says. "Now I'm being laughed at by people I saved. I'm not sure I like being good." Argus says.

With those words Meldy and Gaz shutter at the thought of him being their enemy again and immediately grovel on the ground.

"Hahaha gotcha I already said I have no interest in being evil anymore." Argus says still laughing. Meldy and gaz look at each other and sigh in both relief and strife.

Then Meldy's stomach growls "I sense a beast dwelling inside of you." Argus says. "It's been a bit since we've eaten." Meldy says embarrassed. "Argus how about we go eat somewhere?" Gaz says. "Fine I was a bit peckish anyways."

They find a tavern/inn called the Raven's Rum Inn. Once they enter the see an assortment of different races gathered. The three sit at a table and a beautiful elf woman approaches to take their order. Then suddenly in a man's voice "Hey Meldy Gaz it's been awhile." "Hey Saia." Gaz says with a confused face Argus is unsure of what to say. "I see you two brought a fresh face." Saia said "oh yeah hey i'm argus." He introduces himself. Then in a feminine voice "it's nice to meet you." Saia said. Once again confused Argus is lost for words he looks at Meldy and Gaz. "Oh Saia is a woman she speaks like that to keep the guys here from trying anything." Meldy says. Then back in man's voice " what can i get you three." Saia said. "I'll have the usual." Meldy and Gaz Says. "Give me what they have." Argus says.

After a bit of talking Saia returns with three Juicy steaks seasoned with salt, pepper, and was marinated with minced garlic, onion.

Argus stares at this masterpiece in aww meanwhile meldy and Gaz are devouring theirs. Argus points at his and slices it into bite size pieces with magic then a piece starts to float and it goes into his mouth. The second he tastes it he melts with joy at the flavor. After a few minutes they've finished eating.

"That was the best meat I've eaten in 318 years." Argus says satisfied. "Yeah though it's a bit pricey." Meldy says. "Ahh right you're human currency." As Argus says that he reaches into a gate and pulls out a gold bar. "Will this cover our meal." Argus asks

Meldy stares shocked at the gold bar

"You have gold bars?" Gaz asks. "Is that surprising I thought you humans used gold as currency." Argus says confused. "We do but we don't use bars of it."Meldy says. "Then how much does this meat cost?" He asks. "7 silver a piece." Meldy says. "For that no no no I'm paying with this and that's that." Argus calls for Saia. She walks over and Argus hands her the gold bar. "Thanks for the food then he walks out. Saia is in shock holding the bar of gold. "He paid with a gold bar. Is he serious." She asks Meldy. "seems so." Meldy replies. With tears in her eyes Saia tells them to thank him for her. "With this I'll finally be able to help my sister." Saia says to them. "Good luck." Meldy says and the three say Farewell

Outside of the tavern Argus is waiting when he sees them he says . "Now that'd we've eaten let me see this academy."
