8 King's Story and An Apology For Invasion of Privacy
As everyone gathers around the King he starts to talk about what happened in the past 16 hours.
"I was being visited by ambassadors from the Kingdom of Reztel and The Central Empire they wanted to establish a trade route. That cut through our borders." The king said
"Shouldn't they already have trade routes why do they want another?" Argus asks
"They felt the old route was not efficient enough their cargo kept getting ruined."
"What were they hauling?" Meldy asked. "It was slaves." The king said. "And as I hope you all know I am against the slave trade."
"Then why haven't you not freed them?" Argus asks. "Because they're property as harsh as it is it's true. And if I ordered to set any slave that entered free that would cause problems even wars. So I decided to just outlaw slave selling in the kingdom. Though it's been rough trading with other kingdoms because of that. I'm happy to say the demi's have brought business here up by a large margin." the king said.
"So what did you say to the ambassadors?" Saia asked.
The king recalls everything he and the ambassadors talked about.
"There will be no slave trafficking through my kingdom if you only trade in regular goods then I will allow it." the king said
"Slaves are regular goods." The Reztel representative said.
"Yeah exactly right therefore there's nothing wrong." The Empire's ambassador said.
"We have nothing more to discuss no slave trading will happen in this kingdom." He said to them
"We won't come near the kingdom only through the plains far east of it." Said Reztel.
"That is still part of my kingdom the conversation is over." The king signals his guards to escort them out
When his men start to move, in front of the door to throne room a gate opens up and out walks Reztel and Empire Knights. A long with a young looking man.
"Sir Alvon." The two ambassadors say to the man.
"It seems negotiations weren't going to work so I figured I'd mobilize our forces." Alvon said
"This is grounds for war." The king yelled as a knight restrained him.
"Who's going to issue a war if your not here." Alvon said laughing to himself.
"Sir Alvon I don't think my king wanted this I believe….." And before the Empires ambassador could finish he was burnt to a crisp. By Alvon.
"Now Do you have a problem with this? Or does my Hellfire need to devour you." Alvon asks the Reztel's ambassador. Who shakes his head in terror.
"Good. Now take the king away we'll give him to some traders heading towards The Empire." Alvon said taking the lead in this operation.
Now we're back to the king sitting talking to everyone. "Then I was taken to those traders." He says
"You said the name Alvon what did he look like?" Asks Argus. "He was wearing a black and red cloak he had horns as well." The king answers Argus.
"That's one of the Nine Demon Generals." Argus tells everyone
"Are you telling me their working with the demon lord." The king says
"No Alvon always did his own thing always on call if Galith need him. I've spoken to him before and he said he'd be a king one day so he could take charge if anything happened to Galith." Argus says.
"So he wants to take over my kingdom." The king says.
"is he going to make slave trading legal here?" Meldy asks with a worried tone.
"If he's a demon that means a demi right? So he shouldn't have any intention to do that to his own kind."
"I'm afraid he'll do worse if he takes over." Argus says scaring everyone.
"But we won't let that happen right?" Meldy says and looks at Argus. His face tells her he has no interest.
"Oh one minute your questioning me because I'm a Lich and the next you want me to help. How about you figure it out on your own." He says and starts to walks off.
"Wait Argus I must say at first it gave me a shock to hear that you were a Lich." The king said. "But these two" he points to Meldy and Saia. "Said you hate slavery and want to change that." The king adds.
Argus has a surprised look on his face. "How do you know that?" he looks at Meldy and Saia
"We found your journal." Saia said quietly.
"You read my journal." Argus face twists with displeasure.
"Yes but…."
The next moment Argus slices the table in half with his wind and walks away towards his room.
Everyone's heart is beating fast sensing the danger from that attack.
"Sis you read someone's personal Journal." Silica asked.
"Yeah..." Saia says with regret.
"Shouldn't you go apologize?" Lilly asks.
"I think it'd be best if we let Argus cool down first." The king says.
"No we're going now." Meldy says grabbing Saia. "Right we need to explain ourselves." Saia adds.
Inside of Argus room he's looking through his journal. He's about at the halfway point. "Damn I hope they didn't read this part." He says reading it.
It reads "maybe one day I'll be a legend I wouldn't mind having plenty of women and money. What am I writing there's only one person I love she may have tried to seduce me in a dream using her powers but maybe that wouldn't have been so bad I wonder how Vanessa's doing these days. Come on Argus Focus. You probably won't see her again you have one mission now."
"Dammit if they read this far Vanessa's going to be…" suddenly there's a knock on his door then Saia and Meldy walk in.
He closes the book fast and looks that them.
"we know your mad with us but" they both get on the ground. "Forgive us." They say.
"How much did you read?" He asks.
"Only a couple pages in the beginning and a few at the very end." They say
"What do you know about me from reading it?" He asks
"Only that you hate slavery that's all." Meldy says.
"Did you read anything about anyone else in there?" He asks
"We only read the part about slavery that's it." Saia says.
Argus sighs in relief "well I guess I'll forgive you then." He says "but don't do it again." He says putting the journal in a gate.
"So will you help us save the kingdom." Meldy asks.
"We'll talk tomorrow it's late and I'm going to sleep." He says to them
"Alright." They say to him and then they leave his room.
When they return to everyone they tell them it's okay and Argus will talk after he rests.
"There's enough rooms for everyone to stay the night." Saia says to them.
"I'm going to go back to my house Argus kinda broke my door down so I want to make sure no one steals from me." Meldy says.
After saying goodbye she leaves and Saia gives a room to everyone else.
An hour passes and Argus is laying there unable to sleep because he gave his robe to Meldy. "Grr I didn't think I needed that soothing feeling to sleep." he thinks to himself.
There's a faint knock on the door and it opens. Lilly walks in. "Argus you awake?" She asks softly.
"Why are you here Lilly." He asks. "I'm scared I've never been alone before I've always had people next to me. It was very soothing for me so I was wondering if I could sleep next to you?" She asks.
"Didn't you see how dangerous I am?" He asks her. "Yeah but I don't sense any evil you" she says. "That's because of this." He points to his necklace then removes it.
The overwhelming aura fills the room. Lilly is staring at Argus. "I can see it in your aura the pain you've gone through." She says walking towards Argus. "You can see that from my aura?" He asks.
"Yeah I've seen that pain in the other slaves although their aura isn't this overwhelming." She says.
"Your a strange one." Argus says "fine come here I'll tell you some boring stories from my past then you'll pass out." He says.
She lays next to him and he tells her about how he became a Lich. "Don't tell anyone your the only person who know its." He says.
She has tears in her eyes but a smile on her face realizing why he offered her to stay with him. "I promise."
After the story Lilly closes her eyes and tries to go to sleep and after a minute she passes out.
After seeing how fast she fell asleep Argus tries to sleep as well and immediately he feels a soothing warmth emanating from lilly and he's out cold.
