14 Argus's Feelings

"Oh right before I forget." Argus rushes back in the castle and walks over to Alvon's body. With a wind strike he makes an incision then he reaches into his body and pulls out a red orb.

Ash sees it and she points at it. "This is the hellfire core." He says. She looks at him wanting more of an answer but he doesn't say more.

With the wall of fire and the demons gone everyone is relieved. But everyone who's with Quasar feels his rage pouring out about Algrim.

"Hey Quasar that demon may have been lying to us you know." Vanessa says. "Why didn't she kill us we all know she could've but…" Quasar says. "Yeah but…"

There's no excuse only Argus can tell them the truth. "Let's head towards the castle and make sure it clear." Gavin says.

So the group walks to the castle they see the knights assisting the citizens. Once they arrive they see Argus and Ash walking towards them.

When Quasar sees Argus he draws his blade and charges this takes Argus and Ash by surprise. Argus manages to dodge the attack but he's slower than normal.

"Bastard." Quasar yells. "The Hell is your problem?" Argus asks. "You created Algrim that monster killed 20% of humanity." Quasar yells swinging his blade. One strike connects and Argus is bleeding. "Only 20% he was suppose to kill at least 70% of humans but he didn't he lied to me." Argus says.

"So… your the monster?" Quasar says.

"Humanity is the monster. That was a long time ago and you stopped him so what?

"Algrim killed my family." Quasar says tears in his eyes. "You want me to apologize you got revenge by killing Algrim what else do you want?"

"Once I slay you we'll be even." He says slicing at Argus.

Everyone is too shocked hearing Argus's cold words for humanity. As the only other person in the group to have seen that time period Vanessa speaks up.

"Argus is that hatred towards humanity because of that time when our home was attacked?"

Argus and Quasar look at Vanessa. "Yeah I hold grudges for a long time."Argus says.

"But…" Argus interrupts "are you defending those bandits from that day they turned your mom into a sex slave and they tried to do the same to you. My best friend your one of the only people I've ever loved and the other was your mother she was like my mom as well you remember that day. I gave up my humanity that day I stopped caring about humans that day.  Do you know how many I killed too many I will be burning in hell when I finally die.

Everyone is shocked to hear how Argus feels.

"Just cut me down already." Argus says standing there looking at Quasar. But Quasar doesn't attack he just looks at Argus.

"What's wrong you want me dead right just do it." Argus yells at him.

Vanessa is crying hearing Argus's words

Argus sighs and starts to walk away. "Where are you going Argus?" Vanessa calls out.

"Anywhere but here no one wants me here so what's the point." Argus says. "Wait Argus…" Quasar says. "What do you want? Either cut me down or leave me alone."

"I didn't know your past so I jumped the gun I'm sorry." Quasar says. "Huh yeah I'm sorry about Algrim but he's dead so just let thing be."

Argus says.

"Come on Argus you saved this kingdom let's go tell the king." Meldy says. "Yeah Argus Meldy and I still owe you one for saving us." Gaz says. Argus turns and looks at everyone. Then Ash walks up to him she stares at him and extends her hand.

Argus looks at it then back at her face then he shakes it expecting a trap but it doesn't come.

Kinda surprised she didn't try something Argus gives a slight laugh. "Okay ash I'll work on something. She pulls her scarf down revealing a bright smile.

"Let's go talk to the king." He says. As they walk back Meldy heals him. "All better." She says. "Thanks."

Then Vanessa walks up and puts an arm around him and she leans in and whispers "I didn't know you loved me." She says.

With those words Argus's face turns bright red. "Get away from me." He says trying to break free but she doesn't let go. "Ha you didn't deny it she says with a smile.

Argus sighs "(I wish Quasar cut me down.)" He thinks to himself glancing at Quasar he sees Ash handing him a note.

It reads: Argus isn't that bad of a person he's surprisingly nice and I think he's starting to feel bad about what happened.

"You think so." Quasar says. Ash nods then she grabs the note and starts writing again then hands it back.

It reads: can he travel with? Us we're supposed to spread good right let's show him and maybe we can help him end slavery you agree its bad right?

"Well yeah its bad but what can three people do about it."

She stares at Quasar then glances at Argus. Telling Quasar to ask him. "Okay I'll ask when there's a chance." He says to her.

After making it back to the church they tell the king and everyone what happened. Seben also regrouped with everyone a little later.

"You really didn't ditch huh." Argus says. "No I didn't but I found this guy." He brought the Reztel Ambassador.

He bows before the king. "I'm sorry for what happened but my king doesn't want a war. And about the trade route if you allow it we won't send slaves only regular goods also I'll ask my king to start trading with you if you'll allow it." He says.

"Yes of course I saw what that demon did. So I have no hostilities towards the Reztel kingdom and the trades routes that's fine.

"Thank you I'll return to Reztel and inform the king in fact Alvon was too powerful my king was afraid of him so thanks for saving us. He says.

"You know I killed him right." Argus says. "Yes I know." The Ambassador says. "And I call this kingdom home so treat it well."

The Ambassador gulps "yes of course."

After a few hours everyone splits up Argus, Lilly, Saia, Silica, and Vanessa go to Raven Rum

"Why did you come?" Argus ask Vanessa.

"That should be obvious" she gives a wink.

Argus flinches at it.

"Well it's getting kinda late I'm going to bed." Argus says and goes to his room and locks it.

Argus changes into his sleeping robe and lays down. A few hours go by and nothing has happened so he decides to go to sleep.

At the door to his room Vanessa is picking the lock. She gets it open and she sees Argus sleeping. She silently closes the door and walks over to Argus and crawls into bed with him.

Immediately Argus wakes up and he sees Vanessa who's wearing revealing clothes laying next to him.

"What the hell are you doing!?" Argus says.

"You know I love you too Argus." She says wrapping her arms around Argus. Argus sighs. "Your a succubus your not allowed to love me." He says. "You know I've only done it in dreams to steal life force from people so I'm still pure." She says.

Argus gulps and turns away from her. "You need to leave."

"Do you really want that?" She asks. But Argus doesn't respond instead he's snoring.

"Argus? Argus? Argus?" Vanessa says then she yawns she wraps her arms around Argus and falls asleep.
