1 Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

Unknown year, at the colony 0071

A dozen babies were sleeping on their white beds while two middle-aged men were arguing about their destiny on the other side of the frosted glass.

"This is nothing but cruelty," One said.

"No! This is the next step of evolution," The other one said.

"You cannot do this to these poor orphans!" The young-looking man turned and leaned against the glass as if he could not bear to look at the babies.

"They are not orphans. I made them. I selected their genes. I fertilized them in this lab. They never needed parents," the older one said so and put his hand on the glass.

"You said that research aimed to dissolve congenital abnormalities. You said that they will never be born. You said that our studies come to the end!" He said, put his hands on his head and turned his gaze to the ground.

"Enough! I already have permissions. Even the General has plans for my little Eve. She will be the first customized human from birth," The older one walked away from the glass.

"What do you mean?"

"I will change her organic body parts into high tech ones."

"You cannot! Science council forbade making cyborgs except to help cripples. This is against codes of conduct." He looked up and said angrily.

"The General approved it."

"The General has an engine instead of his heart."

"Say what you want. This is how it goes and you are nobody."

"You are right. But I won't be a part of this. I quit." He said, then he took off his white coat and left the room.

Eight years after her birth, Eve7 was sleeping again while two men were waiting in front of her bed.

"General, we are ready."

"Okay. Prepare her. I just wanted to see her for the last time."

"General… Don't you believe that she will complete the mission and come back?"

"Oh, do you believe? Eve is a step like her previous six sisters. If the legend of the origin earth is real, well, we will take it back one day. But for now… just keep observing."

A young man in uniforms rushed in and said:

"General! We are under attack! It is United Union of Halo Galaxy again. We lost five Pony Starships already."

The General sighed and rubbed his forehead. "You," said while pointing with his finger the man he had spoken to before, "Take care of Eve and send her rocketship. Coordinates have already been decided," Then he left the room without looking at Eve again.

A2A 1702, Aegean Sea, Earth, two days before moonless night

A rocket ship arrived at sea and waves took control of Eve's destiny. The moon was her crescent form so night belonged to Nyx, a goddess known as a merciful mother. However, the dark side of the moon was too strong to ignore at this time of the month. The goddess of the moonless night was watching too. Moonlight touched the sea. Nyx asked waves for carrying the girl carefully and taking her to the land.

Several miles away, at the same time, in the city Zmir'a, there is a man standing in front of a corpse. He was probably in his twenties and wore a white shirt and jeans. He had tucked his jeans into his boots. Nobody wanted blood on their jeans. He was patiently waiting for the crime scene team to finish their job. After all, the body was not going anywhere. Unless it was under a spell to make him do otherwise. Or unless whatever killed the man was a creature that causes walking deads.

"Here, Jason!" When the man heard his name turned and looked at the person who called him. Farah Tarnell, to sum it up, is a tall and strong woman both physically and mentally. Jason's 175 cm tall so he easily guesses that she has to be about 180. Of course, she has to be mentally strong to reach her position.

"Chief, did you call me?"

"Yes. What were you thinking so deeply?"

"I was thinking about how lucky we are. Because of those guys who drink blood in western territories, the authorities can't decide who is dead and who isn't."

Farah asked, "Do you think that this case is a vamp thing?"

"No. They have their community and they don't like leaving their territories. Even an exiled one has a lot of options before preferring to come here."

"Could it be the other thing, you know, brain eater?"

Jason looked at the corpse. "He seems dead to me."

Farah nodded. "Aren't there spells that are activated some time after death?"

"There are but they exceed my abilities to recognize."

"I see. I am not a witch but this does not really seem like a spell."

"Agree. Are there any connections between this and the other two?"

"Yes. All three were killed in the same way."

"Ah. Serial killer."
