Synopsis

I’m Mina Ibrahimi, a high school graduated girl. My hometown is Afghanistan but I was born in one of the camp in Pakistan because due to war, my family members were escaped to Pakistan for our lives’ safety. After arrival, life in a different country was so difficult for my father to earn money. After searching a lot, my father was able to find a job as a tailor. But that wasn’t enough for us because we were living together with my grandparents and aunts. When I was child I lost my mom (she was a heart patient but due to lack of money, my father wasn’t able to treat her) in Pakistan. Then, we return to Afghanistan because the government of Pakistan forced all Afghans to leave their country. That time we were together with our uncles, my family and my two unmarried aunts. That was really hard time for my family (myself, two sisters and father) because my uncles and their wives used to treat us so badly and we were like their servants and if anything would happen, they used to blame us and were beating us and we used to spend two to three days in crying. That time, my father was a jobless, so he used to say that we have to tolerate this because we have no place to go and still facing all these hardships we I started my school in public school along with my sisters. The condition was same as before, it was so hard for us to study because my uncles were against us. When I was in 8th grade my father found a job in ministry of higher education of Afghanistan. Our life changed a bit but still we weren’t able to afford or rent a house. However, after facing difficult condition, we graduated from high school by the support of my two aunts. After completing high school, my uncle forced my father to leave their house and even they have taken our lands in my homeland Paghman (Kabul) because my father doesn’t have a son. My father didn’t have enough money to rent a house for house but hardly he found one room with one small kitchen and bathroom in an apartment basement that costs 4000afs which is difficult to pay. Also, we cannot go out to work because Afghanistan situation for female is so bad. People in streets harass girls. After entry of Taliban to Kabul, my father was fired from his work. My father has lost his one leg due to blast and due to that he cannot walk a lot. So he is searching a lot but Taliban told him that we won’t hire those people who were in previous government. Now Taliban are targeting people secretly and we fear a lot that we are just three girls with father what if they take any of my sister with themselves. I cannot sleep well these days because there is not any security for us. My dream is to complete my education to be a professional person and work for my family and my father. He is old and he cannot work more. But here Afghanistan condition is so worse for almost everyone but especially for females. Our financial condition is so bad. Nowadays it’s hard for us to buy food for us and living here is so difficult for us. For these reasons, I want to out of Afghanistan along with my family to start my education, work and support my family.
