7 'Safe' place

The equipment that Ren withdrew was a shield. The shield was black in color with white dots resembling twinkling stars. It looked like it was forcefully taken off directly from the night sky and was made into a shield.

"Astral shield (Rare)- it is made of unknown transparent material from space. It was said that a heavenly being plucked a piece of the universe and turned it into a shield to protect his descendants. one of its best quality is that it is weightless and does not hinder the speed of the wielder at all. Other effects are unknown.

Durability reduced from 120 to 1."

He asked for the description of the shield as he ran. He wanted to see if there was something different with it. His intuition proved him right, the last sentence was never there in the game. It must have been an effect of 'being reincarnated' into this world.

"CATCH HIM!"

Amidst running, Ren looked back to the orphanage. There were 3 people running after him, their looks suggest that once he got caught, he would get killed.

Suddenly-

The 3 of them were in front of Ren's face.

"Where did he go?"

"Was that space magic?!"

"No wonder Drey got defeated, that person was able to teleport his whole body that fast, he must be really powerful."

"Why would he run away then?"

They discussed among themselves. Looking around there were no traces of the guy with the black shield anymore.

"Let's go this place is not safe." They gave up and went back to where Drey was. If they stay longer, the 3 of them might get themselves into a perilous situation since they went far from their groups.

Soon they left the area and went back to the house.

What they did not know was Ren was frozen standing where he was. He didn't move an inch at all, but not because he didn't want to get discovered but because he got jumpscared by them. Imagine looking at something scary from far away and the instant you blinked that thing is at your face? He was so frightened that his soul almost went back to earth.

"Huhuhu." Ren couldn't help but shed tears once again as he start running to the place he wished to be.

Ren couldn't help but comment against his system. He continued to run to the place, and he kept toggling his invisibility on and off everytime he was got himself in a dangerous situation. There was one time that he was approached by a guy from the Horned Serpent while he was running. Immediately he turned invisible an ran off. There were also times when he got shot by arrows which he managed to block using the shield. Being a rare-grade shield, even though it only had 1 point in durability, it didn't break easily. He was also shot by fireballs and water spheres from who knows where which he dealt with by moving out of the way since they were slower than the arrows.

Ren only had 3 seconds on his invisibility. He managed to extend it's usefulness for a good 3 minutes just by toggling it on when he needed it.

Ren hid behind a tree and withdrew his last invisibility potion.

"Health elixir, defense talismans, and a wind amulet." Ren never withdrew 3 at once and since he only had 2 hands the amulet fell on the ground.

"....."

"I have pockets, right?! PLACE IT IN THERE, PERHAPS?!" Ren exclaimed.

"System level too low."

Ren was not expecting for the system to reply and what it said added fuel to his anger.

He tried to calm himself down, he might be quite far away from the battlefield but those freaks could cover large amounts of land in mere seconds. It happened thrice to him already, people popping up in front of him. There were times that someone swung his sword at him even though he turned invisible. At that moment, he thought he was a goner. He slanted his shield and ducked making the sword slide against the shield heading for his head, but at that time he managed to duck enough and the sword missed his head by an inch.

Ren ran off the moment after knowing he survived leaving the guy confused. The words 'Did I hit him or not?' echoed in the guy's head.

As he recalled everything he did to reach this tree, he was finally able to calm down.

Ren used the defense talismans, and kept the health elixir in his pocket. He picked up the amulet off the ground and wore it.

"Wind Amulet (Common) - increase user's running speed by 5 points. Created by blacksmiths by infusing wind element into the emerald."

He wore it on his neck and continued running once again.

"There's not much of them here, I knew it." He ran past trees. It was strange though. The surrounding forest was in flames but the ones here were fine. It was like the war never existed.

Finally Ren stopped, he started walking instead.

"This well..."

He scanned his newly acquired memories and found out that he was the only one in the orphanage who was tasked to get water from this well. Since he became able, no else took water from the well. Everyday he walked here and drew up water.

"Maybe if I stayed here...." He approached the well. He looked down and saw that it dark just like usual.

"I saw him run here!"

"No choice now." He decided to climb down the well.

It felt damp and wet. He was able to climb down easily because his body was still small.

"Alert alert! Dangerous entity detected!" The system rang in his head.

"...."

"What? Where?!" In that split second, he lost focus and slid off.

*Splash*

"Damn everything!" Ren thought. He was didn't want to shout or else he might alert that 'dangerous entity'.

"Hmm? What is this place.." His previous memories always thought that the well was just filled with water, but now that he fell in he realized that it was really was but the amount suggested that it wasn't just 'water'. They was a whole ocean below.

"I'll drown if I fall down further!" he thought but his body did not listen to him.

"Dangerous entity detected! Suggested course of action: Get out of the well!" The voice rang out once again.
