6 Chapter 6

(Ringtone music)

Someone was calling me. As I was stretching from my bed I casually leaned over to the table beside my bed and grabbed my phone to check who was calling. It was Sophie. I unplugged my phone from its charger and answered in my groggy voice. "Hello?"

"Hey Luke! Good morning!!" Sophie said cheerfully.

".....Sophie.... Why did you call me 8 in the morning!! I literally just woke up!" I whined.

"What?? You just woke up? Eww I think I can smell your breath from my phone! Go brush your teeth Luke."

I see Sophie was trying to be funny again. I really never found her "jokes" all that funny, but being the supportive nice best friend I am, I laughed. "Wow Sophie that's so funny haha... I'm gonna go brush my teeth now, call you later."

"...Umm okay... Bye!" Sophie didn't really sound excited about hanging up, but I really need some private morning time to myself you know-

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Luke!!! Make me pancakes!" Ugh it was her again. Lily annoying me as always. I wish it was easy to pretend someone doesn't exist. I grunted standing up from my bed and yawned as I walked to open my door and find Lily pouting.

"What's wrong with dad?!" I yelled.

"He's still asleep." Lily replied. All of a sudden I had an idea.

"He's still asleep...? Hmm..." I walked to the kitchen and grabbed an ice cube tray from the freezer. Lily looked at me without a single clue of what I was about to do. I walked to my dad's room and he was still there asleep and snoring. I swear my dad has to be part koala, and the way he snores... He's gotta be part lion too.

Lily stepped in the room right behind me questioning why I was holding the tray above him.

"Dad... I hope you feel this down your balls too." I twisted the tray and shook all the 18 ice cubes down my dad's back. I forgot to mention how my dad hates anything cold. He literally gets annoyed with AC and even fans. Now that I'm thinking about it, he could also be part kangaroo. They can survive in very hot temperatures. My dad is a... Koaliongaroo!

My dad's eyes shot open as soon as the first ice cube even touched his skin. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

"Ha! Mission complete." I stood there smiling. I really enjoyed that prank.

"Gah!! L-Lily?!?!?! You just stood there and let your brother do this to me!" My dad yelled, but I could tell he wasn't angry. Lily bursted out in laughter.

"Daddy the look on your face! Of course I didn't stop him. Luke always has the best pranks too!!" Lily was on my side as always. "Grah! Come here!" My dad grabbed Lily and started tickling her. Lily's laughter was so sweet and innocent. During this time I couldn't help myself from smiling, it was hard for me to not smile at all. While my dad was still playing with Lily, I peacefully walked out his room, refilled the tray, and put it right back in the freezer.

I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I grabbed my toothbrush and the toothpaste and squeezed out the paste onto the brush. Right when I started to brush my teeth, I felt something "off" the toothpaste... It tasted like... WASABI! I quickly spit out the paste and rinsed my mouth with a lot of water.

"DAD!!!!!" I called my dad into the bathroom.

When he came Lily was right behind him.

"What is it Luke?" Dad asked.

"Who put wasabi in the toothpaste! It's still burning my mouth!!"

"What? What do you mean...? There's wasabi in our toothpaste?! NOOOOOO!!" Why did my dad feel more hurt than I was... Oh well. I'm still mad.

"Heheheheeee!" Snickering could be heard in echoes.

We all started looking around confused. "Umm who was that...?" I asked only to get no answer from my dad or Lily. The three of us walked out the bathroom and slowly crept into the living room.

"Hello! Who's there?!" I yelled waiting for an answer... But only got more chuckles.

"Heheheeee!"

I was started to get frustrated. "Stop playing around! This isn't a joke!"

"Awe that's not fair you get to prank your dad, but I can't prank anyone without getting yelled at. Is this really how our newest recruits are like nowadays? Such hypocrites." A magical girl magically appeared in front of us. Smoke and colorful ribbons flew in every direction. She was wearing a hat and outfit similar to a witch.

"...Who are you... What are you doing here! How did you even do that?!" I asked.

"No no. Don't be a snob, and introduce yourself. I am Edna the Witch of Trickery. Pleasure to meet you. I've heard a lot of things from Cadence about you Luke, so I've come to meet you, but I'm starting to think that's a mistake." She pulled out a wand and lightly poked the floor and the mess of ribbons and smoke dust started to float. She took off her hat and flipped it upside down. "Into the hat you go!" Edna double tapped the hat with her wand and everything went into the hat. After that she flipped it back over and put it back on her head. We were all shocked to see nothing came out of it.

"Whoa... Wait, Hold on- What do you mean you heard about me from Cadence?!?!" I didn't know if I should've been flattered that Cadence talked about me or confused.
