Chapter 1-Chosen

Ashley walked into the abandoned building at the edge of the town ,closest to the forest that surrounded the town like a barrier. She had a bone to pick with one of her friends.

"You bite me."She gritted her teeth as she stared at her best friends brother.

"I didnt have a choice."

"I said no Nathan!"She raised her voice.

"You were chosen Ashley."He matched her tone.

"Hey...Ashley."Nathan's little sister Tamia said but sensed the tense air and paused.

"You did it didnt you?"Tamia asked her brother to which he glanced at her.

"Oh my gosh. Natt she said no."Tamia said her eyes widened at her brother and best friend.

"She was chosen Tamia."He said and turned around.

"I did not see that coming."Tamia muttered to herself and looked up at Ashley.

"You know he had to Ashley. Theres a reason you where picked. Who was she chosen for."Tamia adressed Ashley and then spoke to her brother.

"I dont know."He looked down confused.

"She was chosen without a person to protect?"She asked confused as well.

"Yeah."He replied.

"I didnt want it either way Tamia he asked and I said no."She said agitated

"Why is it such a big deal you know how it works."Nathan chimed in.

"Aiden asked me out and now I would be putting him in danger if I say yes."She ran her hands through her hair.

Tamia took a seat on the couch and acted as if she was about to take a nap then replied.

"I think you would be doing more good then bad by saying yes Ash."

"How is that even possible. I'm a werewolf now Tamia."She cried.

"And I'm still....human. I guess we both disappointed. Just trust me he'll be fine."She shrugged getting up and opening the door. Which seconds later the rest of the pack walked in.

"I'm sure you'd eventually shift Tamia. Mom and dad were werewolf it's only expected."Nathan sighed.

"Mom wasnt born a werewolf Nat she was bite. Theres a chance I might not shift."Tamia averted her eyes to the ground and leaned onto the table.

"Why is there a new scen- oh."Isaac asked but cut himself off after walking past Ashley.

"So she shifted huh?"Isaac walked up to Tamia and copied her position before nudging his head towards Ashley.

"Not yet."She said lifting up her shirt to show the bite mark that was busy healing.

"Great another girl in the pack."Jared said plopping down on the couch,his twin Ethan following his exact action.

"Alex is not gonna be happy."Ethan chuckled.

"Not happy about wha- hell no Nathan out of all the people."He glared.

"She was chosen. I didn't have a choice."He rolled his eyes.

"Wait she was chosen. What's so special about her."Adam asked.

"Could ask the same about you bro."Isaac shrugged.

"Natalie is still alive isn't she squirt."He shrugged jumping off of the pipe he was doing pull ups on.

"As you know chosen ones are protectors to specific individuals right? Ashley doesn't have that individual."Nat said.

"Actually. We just don't know who it is. She does have someone."Tamia shrugged once again looking at the ground.

"Yo. Mia you aren't the only girl here anymore."Jordan said enthusiastically.

"Still the only human tho."She winked.

Tamia loosened her messy hair out of its bun and flattened it as much as the subtle curls would let her.

"Well we got school so let's go." She said grabbing her oversized jacket and marching to the exit.

The group got at school and climbed out of their separate cars.

"Imma go talk to Aiden."Ashley said jumping out of the car and storming off.

The rest of the group made their way into the school and gathered by Nathan locker which everyone lockers happened to be close by.

Just then Tamia stiffened and her heart started raising.

The boys hearing the change in her heartbeat looked over at her.

"Hey you okay?"Isaac asked holding her shoulder.

Tamia took a deep breathe closing her eyes and smiled in a reassuring manner. 

"Yeah I'm fine."She replied opening her eyes and relaxing. Just then Nathan's head snapped to the entrance of the school. Letting out a low growl.

Everyone except Tamia turned at the scent of a pair of werewolves that did not belong to their pack.

While everyone was looking at the pair Tamia's face scrunched up in concern and walked away.

"Ash."Tamia said walking up to Ash and  Aiden who were in a heated make out session.

"What."She said agitated and Aiden smiled at her before greeting the 5'1 girl.

"We need to go."Tamia shrugged scrunching her face in the cutest way.

Many people would consider the girl cute and nice but if only they knew her fighting ability.

Ashley was quite the opposite always agitated and quite agressive but one thing they had in common,nobody messed with their family.

They made their way back to the boys.

"Who are they?" Nathan asked obviously pissed.

"Hayden and Chris Wood," Tamia said stopping next to her brother.

"How do you know that?"He raised an eyebrow

"Word gets around school." She shrugged shifting her weight to her left foot.

Tamia was sitting on the floor in the corridor during lunch.

She was busy drawing a wolf. Pitch black fur and glowing red eyes,her dad.

Just then she felt someone sit next to her so she looked up and closed her book.

It was Hayden.

"What are you doing?"She said panicked looking around for any site of her pack members.

"Sitting next to you."He said nonchalantly, taking a glance around him as if he saw no problem with his actionsiğj

"We cant be seen together you know."She said.

Hayden ignored her and took her hand in his.

"You know how long I waited to do this."He said closing his eyes leaning his head against the wall behind him.

"I thought I told you not to come Hayden. My loyalty is with my brother. Dont for one second think I will go against him or put his life in danger."She said ripping her hand out of his grasp.

He slowly lifted his head back up and looked at her.

"Your suppose to be smart Tamia. You already killed him."He smirked getting up and walking away.

Tamia squinted her eyes in thought.

What did he mean she already killed him.

As far as she knows she didnt do anything that would threaten his life. Atleast not intentionally.

Tamia once again felt a presence and jumped not seeing the person approach her.

"Woah, why so jumpy."Jared chuckled at the girls frightened state.

"I dont have super smell idiot I cant smell you coming."She said taking his hand to help her up.

"Jared do you feel normal?"She asked looking at his face for any signs of emotion.

"Idk I feel this pit in my tummy since this morning but otherwise great."He shrugged.

What he didnt realise was his answer made her just confirm what she already knew.

Jared looked down at the girl making her look up at him their eyes meeting.

After a few seconds Tamia spoke.

"Why are we staring at each other?"She said not breaking eye contact.

"I'm not sure. Why is your eyes turning a dark grey?"He said his eyebrows scrunching together.

Tamia immediately looked away.

"Its just lighting."She shrugged letting out an awkward laugh.

"Your eyes are dark brown Tamia."He said questioning her

"Almost completely black. Its possible."She shrugged walking away muttering to herself.

Ashley walked out of school with her hand intertwined with her boyfriends.

They were having a casual conversation that was cut short.

Tyler grabbed her other hand and pulled her along with him in a fast speed,"Sorry Aiden need to borrow your girl you can get her back tomorrow!"Tyler shouted behind him.

"What are you doing?"Ashley shouted punching him hard in the chest.

"You part of the pack now. Nathan wants to see all of us."He said completely unphased by the punch.

"I didnt say I was part of the pack."She said pulling her hand away.

Tyler's eyes darkened and he slowly advanced towards her his eyes staring holes into hers.

"Do you want to be dead before you can even shift huh. You're weak alone. You need us to survive now,ash."He said bumping her shoulder as he pushed past her.

She let out a frustrated puff before following.

"She'll shift tonight. Tamia you can't stay here. It's her first time shifting she wouldn't be able to control it."Nathan said addressing his baby sister.

"I'm not leaving. The last time I wasn't here the person who shifted had major wounds.Which may I remind you was taking long to heal Nathan."She said pointed knowing he inflicted the wounds.

"Fine,Tyler you watch her."He ordered to which Tyler just gave a slight nod too.

Most of them totally oblivious to the danger that was about to come.
