5 Chapter5: The Moonlight Inn

I was finally able to get inside Citrine City. I don't know much about the city yet, I don't know how big it is, what interesting things I can do inside, or what culture and history it has. But I'm sure it will not take me long before I get used to this city.

I looked around me again, almost all buildings have 2 - 3rd floors and the Brick road with a brownish gold color gave off the city the feeling of an old but rich town. But one thing standing out for me most are the people. Some girls are wearing Light simple dresses, while some men are wearing pants and sleeveless leather vest, it's like a europian city you'll find in the 18' hundreds, but as you look further more, you'll see that there are others who have different variety of clothes, from the looks of it, I guess they're adventurers.

I need to find an inn if I want to stay in this city. I walked around to see if there's someone I can ask. Just a minute later someone tapped my shoulder. I then turned around.

[ Yo, onii-san! you're new at this city?] a little girl around 11 or 12 ask me, she has short chestnut hair and some small freckles on her face.

[ Yes, I just went pass through the front gates a moment ago, and now I'm looking for an inn. ] the girl then smiled happily.

[ if it's an inn, then you can count on me! my mother owns the best inn in the city! ] oh, that was fast. I didn't expect that the inn will find me instead.

[ Is that so? can you take me there then? ]

[ of course! My name is bretta, what is your name onii-san? ] bretta ask with a big smile.

[ My name's Yuki, glad to meet you bretta]

[ Un! ] bretta is really cute when smiling, I bet she's happy because she found a new costumer for their inn.

I followed bretta-chan, I hope it's close. I was walking and running for almost 3 days so I want to have a proper rest soon.

[ by the way bretta, how much does it cost for staying a day at your inn? ] I asked bretta, I don't know how much it will cost, but Jack said that I can stay here at this city for a week without any problems with three silver coins.

[ Hmm... A day would cost two copper coins but if you want to include food for breakfast and dinner then you need to add two more copper coins ] 4x7... 28, does it mean that I still have 2 copper coins left? wait...

[ Bretta-san, do people here only eat twice a day? ] they will only serve for breakfast and dinner? won't I get hungry if I don't eat at noon?

[ ... uhh, yes, commoners here only eat twice a day, but if they have extra money they'll try to buy hard bread to eat at noon. Is that unusual for you onii-san? ] Bretta-chan ask while looking confused.

[ uhh.. yes, it is unusual for me, in the country I lived in, we always eat three proper meals everyday. ] I gave her an honest reply.

[ Oh! we're already here! faster onii- san! ] oh, the inn saved me.

bretta pointed at a large apartment like building with 3 floors. there's a sign in front just above the two doors, I knit my brows and looked at it closely, I can't read what was written, it looks like it's written in the writing of this world.

Bretta ran towards the door, then opening it with both hands.

[ I'm home Mother! I also brought a customer with me. ] I followed inside and saw a beautiful adult version of bretta, but she has brown hair, while bretta has chestnut. I guess I know what bretta will look like after just a few years.

I look at the room, The inside looked clean, and there are few wooden chairs and tables inside. The walls are made of bricks and are clearly well maintained. And at the opposite side of the door is the counter, At the back of the counter, I can see another small room, It looks like the kitchen and there's only has few equipments inside it. At the left side of the counter there's a stair I guess leading to the 3rd and 2nd floor I saw outside. And lastly At the other right side of the counter was a door which I guess leading to the other rooms here at this floor.

Bretta ran towards the counter where her mother.

[ oh! isn't that great? thank you bretta. ] Her mother covered her mouth with her hand pretending to be surprised.

[ hello, I would like to stay for a week, is there still an empty room? ] I asked bretta's mother.

[ yes, the third floor doesn't even have one customer yet. You can pick whichever room you like there, bretta will guide you. ] she smiled and looked at bretta, bretta nods happily.

[ do you want to include breakfast and dinner? ] Bretta's mother asked smiling.

[ yes, I would like to, I'm also looking forward to what the food would taste like. ] I replied while smiling awkwardly.

[ then that would be 28 coins in total, do you want to pay in advance or per day? ]

[ I'll pay the 28 coins right now. ]

[ okay, thank you for choosing Moonlight Inn. My name is Marinda, If you have any problem with your room, please call me. ] she made a small bow, then looked at bretta again.

[ yes, my name's Yuki, glad to meet you. ] I replied and bowed slightly.

[ bretta, guide our customer now to the 3rd floor, Yuki-san, you can choose whichever room you like in there. ] bretta's mother told me so.

[ yes, thank you, then I think I'll pick the one in the middle. ]

[ Is that so? You haven't even got there yet? ]

[ I just don't like my room being in the corner. ] There's no hidden meaning to it, it just really feels safe when the room is in the middle.

[ then here's the key for the room in the middle, don't lose it okay? ]

[ yes. ]

[ Come on onii-san I'll guide you to your room now! ] bretta dragged my left hand, dragging me to the stairs at the corner of the room.

After reaching the third floor I picked the room in the middle, there are exactly 5 rooms per floor, except the first floor which has 3 rooms beside the biggest one which is used as the receptionist room.

[ Here is your room onii-san! ] Bretta said with a cute smile.

[ thank you bretta, I'll go inside now ]

[ Un! ] bretta waited till I finally able to go inside, then left.

[haaahhh... Finally.. ] My eyes are glued to the bed. I remove my clothes because they're all completely smelly and dirty. And... Finally, I jumped to the bed!

hahh...so refreshing, my body feels like it's going to sink.

I then fell asleep.
